Here is mine:

Sand Ceremony Picture Frame

It's four panes of glass.  The two on the outside, and then two on the inside.  So we when you look at the top, there are three open areas to pour sand.  We poured sand in the first open area (this is our mom's pouring, by the way.  They laid our foundation).  Then you can remove the pane of glass that is surrouned by air to attach a photograph to it.  That way you don't disturb the sand.

As for transfering the glass back home.  I brought along paper towel and saran wrap.  I shoved those paper towels in as tight as I possibly could.  This prevented the sand from shifting and preserved the layers.  Then I put the cover back on the vase.  Then I wrapped it in saran wrap to make sure it wouldn't leak.  Then I wrapped it with paper towels again so that it wouldn't break and put it inside a plastic bag and then inside my suitcase.

Oh wow!!! thanks for th tip Trish. I hope to do the same. But it might be hard to find the unity sand frame locally and the shipping to Canada is as much as the frame. =(

Hey, just a question for those doing a rehersal dinner. Are you doing it with all your wedding guests or just the wedding party? If its just the wedding party do significant others join aswell?

Definitely invite significant others, but I invited everyone.

As for the vase/sand ceremony thing.  I got that at Hobby Lobby.

I don't know what this includes. It is just legal fees. Like you would have to pay if you got married in the UK. This does not apply if you are having a symbolic ceremony.

            Sunshine2680,

I LOVE that, it's different!!!! I bought the heart shaped vase kit for our sand ceremony, but I would love something like this for our bedroom or to hang on the wall.

It is not included in the price of my wedding package bought with Thomas Cook because I have been told it is payable locally.

Do you have words said whilst you are doing this? And did it cost extra to the hotel/registrar?
