Yup, just let us know what specific questions you have and we can help you out.

As far as photographer, I was not impressed by the resort photographer, so I chose to fly my own in. It worked out amazingly well and since they were a guest at the resort I got pictures from three days instead of just one! It was awesome. i would HIGHLY recommend that.

Ceremony - are you planning on getting legally married in Mexico or just have a symbolic ceremony?

Flowers - my flowers were everything I had imagined and even more. I LOVED them!! So beautiful and fresh. What are your concerns regarding them? Are you looking for something specific?

Hi all thanks for your help, well I asked around and the photographers here are asking for $5k - $6K just for the photos (airfare and hotel might run me more than it’s worth) I might have to stick to the photographer out there but will pay for him to stay all day. The packages I saw they offer 70 photos for $1030 wanted to know if the guy was worth it.

also did you do a reception after the wedding or did you reserve a dinner at a restaurant, I am estimating 50 guest so far and want a DJ as well as a reception. You know to introduce Mr. and Mrs…… but I was wondering if anyone had that and what they can tell me about their experience.

My last question (for now) is do I ask them if they have specific flowers? I would like to do a sunflower or yellow and or purple Calla Lilly flower arrangement for the ceremony but also did they do centerpieces at the tables during your reception. Or is this something I might have to send down or figure out an alternative.

Thanks in advance.

I would keep asking photographers. There are MANY photographers who will do a destination wedding for the price of travel alone. So depending on when your wedding is, around $2000. So I don't think that 70 photos for $1030 is worth it. I would ask a bunch of the photographers listed on this website. They should be able to help you too.

I had the private poolside reception after my wedding. We had a buffet dinner and then a DJ and dance. It was AMAZING and everything I had ever wanted. It was so beautiful at night with the stars out and the pool lit up. Not to mention the sound of the ocean right behind us. It was approximately $35-50 pp if I remember correctly.

If you have your heart set on a certain flower, then YES. Ask them in advance if they have it. I had asked if they could do a bouquet for me and they said $600!!! so i had to change my plans. So ask them and then bring a lot of pictures of what you'd want.

The centerpieces were my flower arrangements at the wedding. I paid $40 an arrangement for aisle decoration & the chuppa type item to have bouquets on them. And then they took those, placed a candel in the middle of them and used them as my centerpieces. That was nice since I didn't have to double pay.

Thanks in advance.

I hope that helps!!

We just contracted www.mexicanweddingphotos.com There packages weren't too badly priced and I really liked their work. They were recommended to me by another couple who was married here, and they are familiar with our resort. They were also quick to reply to all my emails.

We are also bringing a photographer with us, I agree ask around on this forum that is where we found ours (Evan Baines) he will be with us for Friday night, Satuday and Sunday doing the TTD.

For our reception we are doing the dinner inside (bc FI does not like the idea of a buffet) and then going outside at 7:30 and having a mariachi band for 45 min and dj for about 2.5hours. Not sure how the whole Mr & Mrs announcement will go since we do not have the dj at the resturant but we may just have a family member do it.

We used Michael Maurus as our photographer. I think his website is cancun-weddingphotographer.com. Here is a link to our wedding photos. Most of them were taken by Michael. (A few were taken by my brother in law with his really fancy camera.)

Picasa Web Albums - Carrie - Carrie&David'...

Michael's prices were great and he was prompt with emails and information as well as punctual on the wedding day.

If anyone has pictures of their wedding and the reception area, if you dont mind can i see some pictures to get an idea.

I know we are getting married in the Gazebo but I am waiting for the WC to tell me if they have a chapel (just in case it rains)

Hello GBP brides. I am trying to settle on what resort I want to get married at, and cannot find any information on wedding packages for GBP. The website just says "wedding packages:" and then it's blank, nothing. I've also searched through this thread, but there's so many pages I don't know if I'll ever find the right page, if anyone has even actually posted. Could someone please post the packages and extra prices if they have them, or even e-mail them to me? It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

a lot of you have commented on safety concerns in Mexico- I have been all over Mexico on several different trips, I will put your minds at ease a little.... Most of the murder/kidnappings are drug related, and for the most part occur near border towns.... things really have blown out of control there, but cancun/riviera maya area is not the main concern. With that being said, obvious things like staying with someone else, not walking down dark streets, etc.... Just like any other place in the United states you might travel.

You can also go to USA.gov: The U.S. Government's Official Web Portal and look up travel advisories for different countries and areas....

Happy traveling!

Hi!

I just got back (very early this morning) and had a wonderful time! We did the legal wedding at Tulum, right on the beach and I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting! We had absolutely gorgeous weather for our ceremony. We had planned on doing a private poolside dinner (the Taquiza, since one of the reasons we chose to get married in Mexico is because we both LOVE Mexican food), but unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate. We had to move indoors. I was really really upset at first, but they did a very nice job of decorating the room that we had to use. On the plus side, I had a few guests comment that they were very thankful for the air conditioning!

Someone asked about a chapel in case of rain... No chapel at this resort. If you do a search of this thread you will see photos of the indoor rain location (at Tulum), which is Tequila restaurant. When I saw the photos I thought that it sort of looked dark and depressing, but if you go in to the restaurant in the day, it is actually quite airy and bright and the fountain they do the ceremony in front of is very pretty and Mayan looking.

Anyway, I will be posting a review with some photos, I'm just going through wedding planning withdrawl and thought I'd add my two cents in!

Oh, and we had Citlalli of Claudia Rodriguez Photography and she was wonderful and super easy to work with. We had her for 3 hours (1340 us) and we didn't need to buy her a day pass to the resort because she wasn't there for very long.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
