I'm not sure what it's like it Waterbury, CT... but when people used to say that to me I'd say something along the lines of "Wow, yeah, I'm really surprised you went shopping down in Milwaukee last weekend. I mean, have you seen all the bodies piling up?"

Crime happens everywhere. And for how many millions of tourists travel to Mexico, very few are killed.

I have a quick question for any Canadian brides who were legally married at or getting married at GBP. I'm still confused about the legal aspects. In the doc that Paloma sent it says:

"We recommend to appostille the certificate of marriage on site with the legal authorities… the process lasts around 3 months…"

I think she means "takes around 3 months", but does the judge do this?

It sounds like some people were just able to bring home the marriage certificate and get it all legalized at the court house. What have other peoples experience been? What's the easiest way to do this?

ok...sorry that wasn't really a quick question smile35.gif

Heh, it's funny you should say that. Waterbury is one of the worst cities in Connecticut. I was told not to live here when I first moved to the state. I told them "I'm from Detroit. How bad does Connecticut get, really?"

I should mention that to my sister, because in Michigan people shoot pizza boys for the $40 they have on them. Mexico can't be that bad in comparison. I've been there before and didn't feel unsafe, but I just want to make sure everyone has no reservations when they make their reservations.

Needless to say , on top of all this last minute running around Jazmin has me doing to get a long form birth certificate, then translated, then notarized then stamped by the embassy...I am really worried that i'm going to get down there...and things are going to fall apart, and suddenly not be booked/confirmed...Sorry about the little rant, but we are sooo close to the date and i'm getting upset by all this pandemonium
I'm new on here and hoping that you still come on. I was wondering how your day went? Did you have everything straightened out? Did you have a beautiful wedding? If you had any issues what where they so I don't have the same issues. I'm getting married in the Tulum section, our wedding is on the beach, our dinner is at the Grand Torauga, and I rented the cocktail section for a reception with the DJ.

Hi Jenny,
I'm also having the same problem with seating at the Gran Tortuga. I was wondering what you did and how your tables were arranged? I'm currious at what she is going to do for me. We have 40 people and my wedding party has 8 people.

I only had 3 people have safety concerns. I've explained to them to stay in a group and don't go out by yourself. They have to remember that you are in a different contry and they have different laws. And what maybe o.k. in one place is not somewhere else and will end you up on jail! However that would be the wedding to remember!!! LOL My MOH is bringing her 7 year old blue eyed curly blond hair son with us. She was a little worried that he might get snatched up. Other then that.... everyone is just excited to go!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
