we did the same thing AZ bride and EDR honeymoon, the Casitas are worth it at the el dorado, I found it hard coming from azul how modern it is to deal with how outdated some parts of the edr but the casitas once we upgraded AMAZING

your pictures are great. its super hot hot hot out there. i had (TMI) sweat streaming down my legs. I did the rooftop so it was a little more private but still I felt like we were cooking up there. we had two guest almost pass out cause we were running late. for those rooftop brides don't pay the extra $150 or so for the quick drink up there hour CAUSE everyone will leave that rooftop asap thats how hot it was. also great picture spot is the pier thing they have at the hotel. we took pictures on it

Hi all, so i am very happy with my pictures, he did an amazing job almost look like a photo shot for a magazine the trashing the dress was amazing and he was the most afforable photographer. HI all hope you all had a great weekend, I got all my pictures this weekend. OMG the photographer did an amazing job on capurting things I didn't think he could. he has a picture of a tear going down my husbands cheek. also he stayed for the reception and took pictures of everyone dancing and partying having a good time. Taking shots (even my mother taking a shot) pretty nuts. I am glad i flew him in cause he was worth every penny.

i had Fabio I really liked him,always picked up when i called and then sent me everything on email. he rocked and gave me good tips

everything will work... i have faithin that. trust me it was horrible the week i switched 20 rooms to a new hotel and told me ppl change of plans this hotel not that. I had the issues that they had just changed and fired alot of ppl. I was dealing with daniel and cecilia but cecilia in all honesty never wrote me or spoke to me only daniel did. which was her assistant, after i left the hotel i got an email saying with the new changes and some cancellations we have more time to dedicate to your wedding. I was like WTH does that mean. i'm out. i want to say this was a month and a hlaf before my wedding. I saw the hotel when i was in mexico and it looks very pretty. once ur there they'll figure it out. i have faith. just be sure to go there and take charge

Sadly that happen to me as well, when they changed hotel names and planners for the 2nd time on me my TA contacted me and said she didn't feel comfortable with me getting married there and switched me over to the Azul hotel (best thing she had done for me) they granged the same prices we had paid and gave us 30% off everything wedding related. I do wonder how it would turn out but thankful everything worked out at Azul

yes 6:30am. I think trashing the dress was so much fun and I want to do it over and over again.

they told us my TA that sucks my family with kids would be compeletly seperated from us and blah blah blah. my single friends were in the same building as me, as were my couple friends and one couple with a kid. we were mostly in building 4. their was a crib on my floor (i saw it getting pushed into a room) and i was in the wedding/honeymoon suite so tell ur TA to stop it. try to get everyone in one building that would be easiset and they can all go in one building. the buildings are not far from each other so dont worry. hope that helps

the DJ we used was recommended by the hotel, no clue what his name was but the wedding planners looked nervous thats how bad he was. i trashed my dress in the pool and the beach in the hotel. no one bothered us we did it sunday at 6:30am to have to lighting, we had our photographer with us (flew him in)and thank goodness we did because he took pictures for the rehearsal dinner at spoon resturant and during the wedding on the skydeck,reception and finally ttd. I want to post at least two pictures but they are so big i can't figure out how to do so.

all the suites have jacuzzi's so don't worry about that, we had the suite on the 3rd floor buidling 4 facing the pier and ocean AMAZING AND great great balcony it wrapped around you can put 40 ppl in our balcony EASY. other then that we had the same room as everyone else in the sense of bathroom's and king size bed i am almost certain we did the 7 nights in Luxury Jacuzzi Ocean view what i wish i had known which i only found out after i did the trip was some exotic traveler membership thing which you get the tour and they try to get you to buy with them, but if you know someone with it they can recommend you to take the tour so its like a friends package and you dont have to buy but you do take the 2 hour tour when ever you want BUT and i stress but YOU GET 50% OFF THE ROOM HOTEL RATE. that would had been sweet. so my friends who bought the membership said had they been members it would be 50% off the hotel rate. good to know for future brides especially if you do ur honeymoon in mexico and move to the el dorado

thanks again we did the reception in the zapota i think it was called the mexican resturant nice breeze at night but make sure you double check how they place the tables beacuse when we stopped by during cocktail hour they never gave us a dance floor we had to have them switch tables last minute. and they could had moved it a little more.

thank you I love those shoes and can't waiit to wear again. we did the reception after reception to be honest we all jumped in the pool and stayed there until 5am. it was one of those everyone change to the bathingsuit. one of our friends had a room on the main floor so he put the ihome on and we all hung out at the pool till 5am. it was a great unplanned afterparty and no one bothered us. we did not plan this or request it with the wedding planner.

Hi Maggie, trust the DJ cut off our songs twice our first dance and mother and groom dance it was going to get ugly when he messed up so much. I totally would have perferred my $1500 and just had my friend do it which is what happen. I will try to post a few pictures my photographer came from NY with me but he was great and much cheaper. My friends had such a blast we were in the pool every night. I can't add the photographers pics because of the size but it was well worth trashing the dress if you want to see it let me know I'll send them to you via email.

we didn't have any problems in the beach at all and the water either

I can't stress the horrible experience ihad with Brittany Schiffler of destination weddings and woud not recommend her to anyone with a right mind. she is not on top of it and plays dumb when it comes to your money. I have read bad things of herand still gave her a chance but I wish i would had listened

I love the hotel i came back from my honeymooon two weeks ago. Stay in the casitas they were great, the regular rooms are a big on the dark side and not as romantic.

just got married at the hotel and it was great, over all fun hotel and good food. just becaure in booking the dj he was not good for us and didn't download first wedding songs at all so first dance was cut off 3 times, mother and groom same thing. also it says it comes with gow in the dark things we got nothing. ipod would have saved us a lot more money and more fun.

i just got married 3 weeks ago and flew in my photographer but he was still cheaper then had I gotten someone in Mexico. He has a photo journalist feel and was very very cool and AFFORABLE. i mean almost a steal for me. if you want email me [email protected] and I'll send you a handful of my pictures that i have, he not only charged me great price but took pictures for the rehearsal dinner, the wedding from the moment we got ready and trashed the dress the next day. I truly liked him and would work with him again for future pictures, maybe kids or something. much cheaper then any photopher I found anywhere else. Julie

my honeymoon was at the el dorado great hotel very relaxing, be sure with enough time that dw's sends all your guest the vouchers, our guest had issues with this and had to pay out of pocket, I personally had a bad exerience with my destination wedding planner brittany and wouldn't recommend her to any bride, she spoke badly of me to a coworker of hers and then forwarde it to my guest. charged my card over $900 and failed to warn me of this charge PLUS she over charged me by $600 and never my money. I have emails from corporate saying how sorry they are because of her wrong doing but can't do anything about it. If you have her I warn you a it gets closer she will let you down. I thought she was great until 3 months before teh wedding.

Hi and congrats I just got married this past July 10 in Mexico Maya Riviera and let me tell you.... the biggest stress has been Destination wedding, let me start with my travel person Brittany Scheiffer 1, I had to on two different occassions tell her i found the room rates cheaper then my contract she hd givien me. it ws fixed but not with out me having to chase her. 2. as we got closer to the wedding it was harder and harder to get a hold of her and it was the same thing (oh i had a doctors appt. I have a half day I am at my lake house) I needed someone with more stable hours cause i couldn't get her my guest couldn't get her. 3. GETS WORSE, 3 weeks before my wedding she "remembers to charge my credit card" over $900 for my honeymoon balance WITH OUT telling me or warning me or anything, I see this charge from a company i don't recognize and call my bank cancel my card do some research and find out its Brittany who said to charge it. a. my remaining balance was $300 b. she told me it was her mistake and she would fix i in daysand I told her I needed all my money before the wedding i still had to pay the hotelfor everything plus hair and make up trial. again i say and stress this was 3 weeks before my wedding, I went to my wedding spent two weeks out there and came back and still the charge was not fixed. i had to ask my bank to dispute it and credit me because she stopped answering all my emails. 4. she was suppose to send all my guest via mail their travel vouchers that are $80 of the travel amount. and she failed todo so so i had to call the hotel in mexico confirmall y guest, and call 44 people to confirm vochers. one couple that left before I did had to pay $70 in cab fare to get to the hotel because they didn't have vouchers, at this point I was calling and emailig her every day asking where is my money and where are the vouchers please email them to me at this point and I'll email them to the guest but nothing just one word replies. Its not my fault its your guest fault they moved they gave me the wrong address. (this was crap because my husbands sister got hers but his mother who lives in the same house (she said had te wrong address) 5. the kicker for me, she sends one of my guest his voucher via email but forgets to read her emails and doesn't realized she was talking about me to her coworker calling me "a fustrating bride who drives her insane" this is what she said about me and sent it to my guest with his voucher. saying please send these out fast because i don't want to deal with her, this is what she saidto her coworker about me. 6. finally once she had changed the prices of my new contract she owed me and my guest money, me over $1300 and she told me 'she would wait until it got closer to the wediding" so we can use our money in the weddng. in april i started asking her please put in for our refund. WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN YET and we are entering august havent seen a dime. i think the company overall isn't bad but research who you get because I dealt with a horrible lady. hope i helped
