Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Okay. I sort of was wondering (or freaking out I guess you could call it)... but you CAN get married on the beach on the Tulum side right? Hank would be so disappointed if we couldn't... I saw Stacy's pics and it was on the beach, and you got married on the Tulum side right?

I do have a different question though.

The groom has decided that he's going to do a guys day and either go golfing or fishing. So now the bride needs to come up with an idea for the ladies. Any suggestions for a fun afternoon or day outing or activity?

Thanks!

How about getting massages on the beach? most resorts have like 1 hr massages on the beach for $40, the going out for lunch and then going into playa for some shopping and mani pedi's to get ready for the big day?

Orchid - I would suggest shopping in Playa also. We went with "just the girls" and had a great day. You can definitly fill up a whole day. Also, if you plan to do the massages too (which is a great idea), I would suggest getting them done after shopping - we were very tuckered after a full day of shopping.

JoLo - Yup, we stayed at the Tulum side and we were married at the beach location there. We loved it! Here's a few pictures for reference:

Oh, the other thing I loved about this location is that you enter from behind lush greenery:

We had rose petals on the aisle - but I think they only put them where we were standing. I would definitly order more if you want them to show up better in pics.

Oh, I do! There is a "secret" beach located just around the corner. It's a dangerous walk... but it is beautiful!!!! If you'd like, feel free to e-mail me and I can send you some small versions first to see if you like them.

Well what the heck, I'll post them anyways! Oh, this would be a GREAT place for a TTD session, as long as your photographer is willing to make the walk with all their equipment. It's amazing!!! There is an abandoned hotel which would be just AWESOME!

Alright, well first off, wear proper shoes! Flip flops will be dangerous! I did it... but I fell a few times.

Basically go south from the Akumal Golden Club villas. It's all rocks and be careful because creatures (giant lizards mostly) live underneath the rocks and tend to scamper out and scare you (hense falling! :)).

Okay, so just keep going along the beach and you'll get there. I'd say it's about a 10-15 minute walk. It's in a cove so until you are in a definite cove... you aren't there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
