Table Linens - HELP!

Recommended Posts

I have always loved the idea of having one large table for our dinner reception. Our group is all family - around 30 adults and 8 kids is what we estimate we will have.

1st issue:

I spoke with Emeiline at the Hilton about this and she said that using the 6' banquet tables she could seat 6 people at each table - that means that our table will be 42' long. That sounds huge to me but I figured that I could shape it like a horseshoe or something if the length becomes an issue. Does that sound huge to anyone else? I am not thinking that guests on one end will be trying to talk with guest on the other end - but don't want it to look silly either.

2nd issue:

I got a list of the colors of table linens that the hilton offers. I was thinking of going with black linens with black chair covers and white chair bows and using fushia as the accent color. The pink looks great next to the black and it makes it really dramatic. I was going to have to bring the table runners from home since the Hilton does not offer the fushia color but I was willing to do that. According to Emelines email the hilton does not have black table linens for the rectangular tables - she checked with a rental company they use and they do not have them either. Now what. I asked her to let me know what colors she does have for the rectangular tabels but haven't heard back from her yet.

Am I the first one to want something other than round tables at my reception? This seems like such a simple thing - table linens - but it makes a huge impact on the other colors that I can use for my flowers and decor! I am going to go insane!

I'm having one long table as well for our wedding. I think the horse shoe look would be good for your dinner. Can you bring table linens from home to Cabo? You might be able to work a deal with her and leave them there after the wedding. (I'm sure they can use for another event)

I am also doing one long table. I'm working with the Westin and they gave me the option of black table linens. My Westin coordinator quoted me $22/piece from a rental company.

If you want, I can ask her which rental agency the Westin uses.

Hi Sarah,

I'm planning to use rectangular tables and have them in a horseshoe shape. I'm going to put the bridal party at the end. I thought that this would have a more intimate feel than having round tables. I didn't ask about black linens. I'm planning to use the white table cloths provided by the Sheraton and bring my own pink/fushia and gold table runners (which I'm making myself).

By the way, my horseshoe is going to be very long...probably 4-5 tables on each side.

I did get a name of a rental company in Cabo that I considered using for table runners, but I don't know if they have black linens. I don't have my wedding book with right now, so I can't post the contact info right now. I'll post it for you this weekend. Also, did you try Fun and Motivation?

Sarah if worse comes to worse you could rent the linens from a party rental store in Cali and then take them with you to cabo and bring them back. I don't know how much this costs but it could get annoying for you to transport them back and forth. But if this is really what you want then I say go for it.

Sarah, do they have white linens for the rectangular tables? You could just go with white, as it looks very "clean" in a beach setting (as opposed to "boring" in a hotel ballroom) and I think your pink runners will still stand out.

Trust me...once the day comes it will really not matter so don't stress too much! Remember that people will be looking at the view and not the tables, I promise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
