Well my Fi is a bar manager and we were all sitting around discussing our wedding as he was closing out and there dj that night said that he could make us a whole wedding playlist that we could put on our ipod!!!!! He told us that we just need to give him a list of specific songs and an idea of how we wanted the night to go i.e mix of slow songs 80's 90's etc etc and that he could pre mix it so that it would flow all together and be as there was a dj actually there. Yes there would be no mcing but we wont have that anyway since we are using the ipod. Hwe is doing it for free for us but i thought i would share the idea so any of you might happen to know a dj in your area you could ask them if maybe they could do something similar and i cant see them asking too much specially if you know them. Hope this will help a few of my girls out there!!!!!

That's a great idea! My friend's husband is doing the same thing for us! The idea came after the dj for her birthday party flaked and her husband had to dj the place himself. It was one of the best parties EVER and I asked him to do the music for our wedding when the time came. I think it's a great idea. My only concern is - what if something happens to the ipod? the other day mine froze for no good reason

do you know how to unfreeze your ipod? It's really easy.

also, I backed everything up to CD in the order I wanted them and brought them with me just in case.

I never thought about backing everything up on CD just in case. Did you bring a cd player as well? Also, I wonder how many cd's you used...If I compose all of these songs on discs, I am sure it will be at least 20 cds.

no we didn't bring a CD player I figured if something happened we would just have to use there sound system with our CD's.

                    I think I had 6 CD's.

I used one for the important songs

1 for the music while people were waiting at the ceremony area

                    2 for dinner music

                    and 3 for the reception

we had a mariachi band for cocktail hour

That is a good idea Ana.
I had the music on my ipod and the sound guy just mixed it for us.

We had my sister and a friend MC and later in the night we had a wireless mic we passed around and sang as we danced.
