Show off your shoes....

Jwed12 - i had the same concerns that you did about the length of the dress.  i'm going barefoot for my ceremony and then putting on close to 5" heels for my reception.  I've actually been stalking peoples pics to see what they've done and have notice quite a few girls who did the same.  I spoke to one and she got her dress hemmed for the shoes.  it did drag on the beach but she said she just took careful steps and it wasn't a big deal at all.  I feel like it's better for the dress to drag on the beach than it is for it to be too short at the reception.    check out this link:  http://www.danielaguilarblog.com/?p=776 Kristine wore 5" jimmy choo's and went barefoot on the beach and her dress looks amazing at both the ceremony and the reception!  hope this helps!

1. Has anyone been in Jamaica before in June? Is the sand going to burn my feet? (I vaguely remember a girl saying that it wasn't hot at all, and I think she was July. I just can't find the post.)

2. Should I get my dress hemmed for being barefoot and then it will be a tad short when I put on shoes? Or should I get it hemmed for shoes, and let it drag in the sand? (I'm worried that I'll trip coming down the "isle" if it's too long.)

Is anyone else having these same thoughts???? Thanks! I appreciate the input. :)

Thanks for that post! Those pictures are gorgeous! What a beautiful dress and location. Look like she had a blast. You're right, the dress looks fine a tad long. One more worry I can cross off the list. :)

Here are my shoes.  I am having them dyed pink to match one of our wedding colors (pink and orange) and I am excited to have a little splash of color under my beautiful dress!  My shoes are on back order so I really hope they come in soon!

Where have you been looking for wedding flats? My FI is more than 3in shorter than me. I got barefoot jewels for the ceremony but i will need flats for when we leave the resort for pics.

For the ceremony - barefoot and then flip flops

For the AHR - some stylish flats

It was not easy!  I found the flip flops on David's Bridal and they are pretty flat.  For the dressier flats for our AHR, it was pretty tough.  You can check etsy for bridal flats, same thing with Amazon.  I REALLY lucked out with mine, DSW had one pair left online in my size and they were about $60-$70 cheaper than everywhere else online.  That style is "dasher".  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
