????? question ?????

Recommended Posts

I just received the "contract" from the hotel we want the wedding at. It requires $75 per person to hold the rooms for me. We are inviting 50 people so it came to $3750! Do you get that deposit back after all the rooms have been booked and paid for by the guests?!!

It might be best rather than fork out that kind of cash and lose it if some drop out! to ask the people who want to go for the deposit - if they seriously want to go they will pay it and at least u will get defo numbers then - i wouldn't pay it myself i think people are full of crap mostly and false promises you find out who wants to go if they put their hands in their pocket lol

I agree with the previous poster to ask guests to pay the deposit themselves.

From my experience, as well as what I read here all the time, people will flake and if you have to eat that money or end up with more credit than you can use at that specific hotel, you won't be happy. Good luck!

I also agree, ask guest to pay the deposit. We had about 42 people say they were DEFINITELY coming but really only 24 booked. If we had of paid the deposits out of our pocket I would have been really mad. No one had a problem paying the deposit, and ours was $250 b/c it was for flight and hotel. I gave them 2 months to pay deposit, then they had 6 months to pay balance of trip.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
