Oh wow, that's horrible! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! I can't even imagine how I would have dealt with that being said to my face! We had a couple say to another friend of ours that they felt our choice to have a DW was a personal attack on them b/c they have a baby. I'm pretty sure when I was planning this I really only had my and my FI in mind!

Yeah, we are no longer friends. She said and did a few things that upset me since I got engaged that has brought our friendship to an end.

barbiegirl- Ha! I can't believe people think so much of themselves to think that you would plan our wedding just to attach her! Seriouslyhuh.gif

Confession - People just really suck some times.

I was laid off in March 2009 from a similar situation - been there 5 years - great ratings and reviews, etc...they kept people who hadn't been there as long and weren't doing as well.

and even though it's been over a year, I'm still not completely over the hurt that they let me go, even though i "know" in my head I should be, I'm better off, all those things. And, i know the others that got laid off with me feel the same way.

Fast forward a year and now they are calling me to come back as a contractor - same as you - getting paid less, hourly, and no benefits.

I've declined.

Getting laid off is a major life event - many people do get very depressed, anxious - all the feelings you describe are very normal - and it's good that you have a therapist to talk about these things.

Is there any way you can look for another job while you're working? I'm working hourly somewhere else now - taking the knowledge I got at the original company and using it to help another. Is it the great job I used to have - no - but it's a job, and I work here till I can get something better - maybe if you think of it as using your ex-employer to get to where you need to be next.

Good luck!smile03.gif
Man that sucks eh? I knew I wasn't the only on (obviously), but you're the first person I've found that feels the EXACT same as me. Sorry you had to go through it too sad.gif I've thought of other jobs. I keep looking in the paper and online. The money I'm making there is still great though. I really need it right now. I'm going to stick it out and see what happens in the future. I don't know if I'm so angry because of the manager, the other employees, my supervisor - I don't know. I love what I do, but sometimes there's a trigger that'll just set me off and I'll feel miserable the rest of the day/week.

People do just really suck some times.

And my job is making me feel like people suck most of the time.
DH has been pressuring me to get a new job for months because mine makes me miserable and stresses me out to a point that it's not in anyway worth the time, energy, or pathetic paycheck. I had an interview today that went great but is a big paycut and I just can't make myself be happy about it if they offer me a job. I hate this economy for making it so hard to just make a living working at crap jobs when all I want is to finish school and finally get a job that I love doing. Especially when I'm so close to finally getting a degree! DH means well but I might just lose it with him next time he makes a comment about me sending more people my resume. It's like he thinks I'm not even trying. Grr.

Thanks for the vent.

I kind of regret my career choice. Iâ€m an accountant and even though it is boring and I HATE my job (I hate the company I work for since my boss make my life miserable), there are plenty of accounting jobs out there right now in this economy and I have recruiters calling me all the time still. BUT if money wasnâ€t an issue I would quit my job and go back to school to be a registered dietitian.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
