Golf outing in Cabo

We are trying to come up with some activities for 1 day of our wedding weekend. I like the idea of a snorkel / boat trip that Tammy host did. I also want to plan a golf outing (we have several guys that really want to golf in cabo). My question is - should i start contacting golf places now to get a group tee time? Do any places offer discounted group rates? we'll be down there for our site visit on Jan 2 and i wasn't sure if i should go to some of the golf places and try to hold something for the Sat before our wedding (June 2, 2007). For those of you that are planning golf for your guests, can you let me know how you did it??

Also, any other suggestions for activities? Tammy host - was the snorkel /boat trip fun? We have a lot of kids coming so i thought this would be a fun one while the guys were off golfing... let me know your feedback on activities. thanks chicas!

My fi has been working on this for a while. Basically the jist of what he has told me is that there are not many courses, and most of them are super expensive and do not offer group discounts.

He's working with our planner now to try to negotiate something at the executive course in San Jose, but he tells me that the greens fee for that course is still over $100 - for the Palmilla and Cabo Del Sol they're in the $300 + range unless you're staying at the hotel.

If you can let me know too - I have a group of boys (and my Mom) who will be hitting the course and would love a good price

okay so this isn't golf but we did THE MOST FUN day trip ever. We did the canyon zip line tour in San Jose. It was seriously so fun; everyone who skipped it was sad when we all came back raving about it.

It's called Canopy Costa Azul and when I am not on the worst internet connection in the history of man I will start a thread on it. The people were SO NICE and we negotiated a group rate fo $55pp (normally like $80-$90 depending on who you ask). It was 3 hours and had a tequila tour and tasting afterward. So fun!

I promise to put more info up in a few days when I leave the in-law's house and their dial-up internet :)

I think the website is: Canopy Costa Azul - Los Cabos but I have contact info for them directly.

We are also coordinating a group golf outing. For our wedding weekend from Thurs.- Sun. the golf is scheduled for Fri. Thus far, I haven't been able to get rates for June, but I did request this info approx. 6 months ago. The rates are nearly cut in half from my understanding if it's June -October, off season. There are quite a few courses, over 5, but the best ones are crazy expensive. No one has been willing to offer group rates either. I will keep you posted. I think that the guys may be playing the Cabo Del Sol course.

Janet, I have already told FI that we have to do the canopy tour while HM in Cabo. It sounds like lots of fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
