  1. @@CaroV CONGRATS ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT!!!! To be honest I think this is a common thing with all brides to be. I have and still am going through the same thing not with friends but with family. Which at one point really annoyed and made me beyond upset . I honestly think we all imagine our engagement and wedding day to be a certain way and in reality nothing is as we imagine. :/ But this shouldn't be about how anyone else feels or how others aren't jumping over the moon for you. this moment and the moment of your marriage should just be about you and your FI. You're going to marry your best friend! and truly that's all that should matter. I know its easier said than done because I went through it and picked myself up slowly. but when you get to the point that you are just happy for yourself ... it will not matter who is or isn't happy for you. Best of Luck planning!!!!
  2. @@Victoriabride I feel like we are possibly on the same dilemma and I just let it go My FI's parents are well off and comfortable and they continuously are reachimg out to us to help with anything. They have offered everything from extra money for the room stay, to buying decor to even paying extras for reception time etc. But on the other hand my parents are divorced and not so well off. My mother doesn't have a top of the line job and it possibly may be very hard for her to even plan to attend ( my prayer is she can) and my father remarried and has 4 children and his wife who doesn't work. So all expenses will be on him alone. When we first got engaged we thought we would have the wedding at home so we decided to ask our parents for help. My FI's parents were more than happy to help. While my parents on the other hand.... lets say i got rolled eyes and kinda blocked out from them for about 2 weeks after that. Until my father decided to call me and tell me he would offer me a certain amount and that was it. ( which anything really did help and i was ok with it ) but now with us having a DW things have gotten more difficult and We decided just not to ask again. I didn't want to come off bratty as you said asking once again when I asked once before and now with the money my father once offered me it just seems that will go into his traveling expenses to bring his entire family to the wedding. So in short Ive just decided to let it be. If its offered then that's great. But We've come to the decision that we will just make out on our own to get what we want and have it how we want without depending on someone else to do it for us. So we have cut back on things to save extra cash etc. I totally understand what you are going through. In a small way it makes you feel as if your happy day isn't as important to them as it should be. Esp with your mother ( cause trust me I know, my mother hasn't brought up my wedding to me once unless i speak about it. Not even dress shopping. I'm not sure if its cause shes upset she cant help me or she actually doesn't care) But We decided not to allow anyone not even my parents attempt to ruin what we want and the happiness it will be for us! If you strongly feel that maybe they should be helping in a way... mention it in other ways.." My FI's parents are giving us the money for this but we still don't have enough for this... Or I really wish i had this but looks like we cant afford it." If they don't get a clue from that.. i would throw the towel and let it be. Remember its not about HOW the wedding turns out its about WHY you're getting married! This alone has helped me! I hope it helps you too!
  3. Would anyone have suggestions on group excursions in the Riviera Maya area? Catamaran cruises, party boats, snorkeling, ATVs, Jet Skis etc. I want to find something to do outside of the resort and looking for suggestions from past Mexico visitors. Also I would like suggestions if this is something my FI and myself should pay for our guest? or something I can provide them as an alternative and have them pay?.
  4. @@BecomingaRiggio have you been able to look into transportation from sensatori to cancun ? or playa? Ive been reading alot of mixed reviews on some places stating the resort has shuttles through the day to these areas for their guest and others saying they dont and you must take a cab that may charge 45-50 dollars a person each way. This is one of my concerns with having my guest at AS. If they want to get out i dont want them to feel like another additional crazy cost to do so.
  5. @@amanda2016 welcome to the BDW and congrats!!! I would suggest to get in contact with a TA. and advise them the resort you are looking into . So the TA can work out room blocks etc. From there you should be able to lock in a date and receive all the information for the wedding from the resort. This way you have a date and can work on sending out Save the Dates if you wish. I suggest maybe making a website with all the information; TA contact info, resort, prices, wedding party etc.Just makes it easier for your guest to get their hands on everything versus calling and emailing you and your TA . I hope this gets you moving! You've come to great place to get the most information possible. All the brides here are amazing!! Good Luck!
  6. So I currently created boarding pass save the dates and truly love them! My plan was to send those out about 10-11 months in advance to get everyone in the "know" sorta speak. Then Send out passport invitations to everyone with luggage tags. My Future mother in law loves the idea but she asked if it seemed a bit backwards... She stated it may be better to send out a simple save the date with possibly just a picture of us and the date and our website and then send out the passport with the boarding pass as our response card. To make the whole "travel" theme stick. Im not sure how i should go about it.. I wanted to send something as a STD to make everyone excited about it. And I feel that sending a normal post card STD seems boring. But in a way i understand what she means by it being a bit backwards.. boarding pass and then a passport. any suggestions would be great!!
  7. Ive been working with my TA for over a month now and Hes currently looking into Azul Sensatori contract to get my date locked in. Fingers crossed this works out!! Im super excited to get this process started for 2016 and share it with you guys!!

I myself have been looking into some items with a theme and came across these.. thought they were so cute. http://www.wholesalecentral.com/sercal0001/store.cfm?event=itemdetail&itemid=1252295 Little ponchos for the bottles.
  13. @@JanelleAdams Welcome to BDW and congrats!!! Have you checked for the resort in Resort Reviews ? Tripadvisor is also a great sort for the resort reviews and also looking for Destination Wedding Review Forums for the resorts.
  14. @@TinkerSofi @@Shipwrecked2015 Anyone know where I can see Love and Lace Reviews other than the few listed on the FB? Im really interested in maybe doing this then having to bring all this decor with me next year. this will really help with package cost and customs. Does anyone know of any other decor rental places to compare to Love and Lace? Thanx for the help!
  15. @@smileitseb I'm not sure yet. I started a little research on places to rent things from . Like this and also those 2 hour cameras all ur guest can record and u send them back and they edit and make you a wedding video. I really like personal touches like that Where the guest can feel a part of it. Let me know if u contact them and see if they work things around to adjust to your needs.
  16. @@smileitseb not sure if you already bought the camera but this may be a good option and u can add the book as an extra option http://hootkit.com/product/hootkit/
  17. @andreaberrettaI love your program!!! Did you create your own template for this?
  18. Just a thought... what about wearing them around your neck ?? Still close to you but still not around your fingers. @LisaAnthonyPoppy
  19. @@LisaAnthonyPoppy Ive heard of people wearing them on the opposite hand until they got to the destination. I dunno what type of "luck" it brings or forsahdows. I guess it depends on your views. But I would be so worried about them all the time if they werent very close to me too.
  20. @ Im so sorry about the loss of your mother. esp in a time like this. But it seems you have great support from your family and your future family to be!! Not to be completely sure seems to be a common thing with brides and their dress. It is such an important day you want everything to be so perfect! To be honest this is why I haven't even stepped foot into a bridal shop yet.I know I have some time but Im worried it will take me forever to just pick one. I cant even pick a resort UGHH lol I think all of the dresses look great! You look beautiful in every single one! But my particular favorite is number 2!! It looks amazing on you!!!! the flowy look of the fabric at the bottem would look so amazing in pictures and videos blowing in the nice ocean breeze! I love the nice soft of bling right around the waste !! LOVE IT!! But you really need to go with your personal favorite and something you feel like a complete queen in!! Best of luck on your pick! You will look beautiful is which ever you select!!
  21. @@LisaAnthonyPoppy seriously what a great idea! Would of never thought of getting ballet shoes! This is on my list of must haves!!
  22. @@LisaAnthonyPoppy i love them!!!!! They are so adorable! haha!!! I never thought about the flopping sound walking down the aisle!! hahahaha!! The barefoot sandle is the way to go then.
  23. @KatieMcBride Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!! I love the look of the barefoot sandals! 24. @@rachelia160 I know 800 .. its pure robbery.Anything to keep you working with who they want. 350 for the outside DJ doesnt seem as bad as what ive seen they charge for DJing alone ahh!!! I was reading great reviews on Disco Movill DJ with past Jade brides. They do light up dance floors and cold fireworks and found it way cheaper than the Now Jade DJ. Thanx for all the info!!
