  1. It does seem like yesterday! It's nuts how quick it went. You'll both me old married ladies in no time! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think your list is manageable too! While a busy schedule you'll be surprised how much you can pack in when that deadline (of fun to come) is so near omg!! You must be so excited. Everything looks awesome. Love the flowers in the basket!! I won't be in Canada on your wedding day so I may not get to post but please know I'll be thinking about you and can't wait to hear all about it And @@Wafflesmom then it's your turn sister!!!! 3. This is a tough one! I personally don't see sending the invitation as a cash grab but I'd be more worried of making them feel bad they can't come. That said, we didn't send invites to those who initially said they couldn't come. Only one person was upset over this and hasn't really spoken to me since. Got a 'would have been nice to get an invite'. I told her why I hadn't as she said she couldn't come and it just never really went anywhere. So that said, if there isn't a lot of extra invites to send to the 'no's' I probably would to avoid this situation. Good luck with whatever you choose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @@ashhtayy He was born and raised in Ontario although I was born and raised in BC I'd never root for the Canucks hehe go flames! That is super cute. I like that idea or even making it more into a scavenger hunt. Thanks !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hey ladies, I need some help and love how creative you all are - so thought you may be able to throw some ideas my way. For Christmas I was able to score my husband some tickets to the Calgary Flames vs Toronto Maple Leafs game! He is a DIE hard Leafs fan, and I have wanted to do this for years but just never bit the bullet based on cost. (The Leafs don't come here often and that drives up the cost to a ludicrous level) Anyways, I want a cute way to give it to him... I have done some google and pinterest searches... 1. Wrap it in 10 different boxes inside of eachother (this feels overused and obvious) 2. Put the tickets inside a balloon and blow it up - put in a cute box with a 'pop me' note (leaning to this idea) 3. Buy one of his favorite snacks/chocolates and put it inside with the treats Help!!! Any ideas appreciated. Thanks!
  6. I know how you feel with not liking those views I was thinking too - for both of us - the little gains can be the weights too. Yes I know it's probably the food haha but this was the first time I did weights in over a month and I noticed a large blip. I couldn't walk for 4 days haha Today I re commit myself. I was up to head to the class and I couldn't find my keys. I'm so frustrated. Well the search continues as I kinda need them lol but I will commit to doing a work out video at home. We got this! Have a good week And ps you are so right about having control over the meals we can. I usually have a blip and then figure I should blow the whole day. I'm awful for that but it's clear how easy I can gain weight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Ummmm sister that's totally noticeable and awesome. Way to go girl. Gives me the motivation I need today to get my arse up and to the gym, so thank you I had a rough weekend with food last week so I was up 1-2 lbs ugh. This season is tough but I made the commitment today to get on the horse cause I need my swim suits to fit in Cuba and I don't wanna come home and start all over again I was just starting to feel comfortable with myself again. I will indulge a bit at a party but I won't blow the whole day. Congrats again on your success Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I second @@acw271011 I married near Tulum in akumel. It was called the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. Can be considered a large resort at over 1000 rooms but has a very private ceremony and reception area. It's at a private beach with the reception in a palapa. Just an idea good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Very easy to slip back into old habits. While I haven't, I am finding it easy to bend my rules haha. Must stay on track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Here is her answer Hello Kim! I bet you miss the sun and the sand frim the Riviera Maya! They can dance just remember the dj is not included, they would have to pay for the dj per hour [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. @@yycbride2016 Wow what's the point of a private four hour dinner if you can't even use a mic? Who knew Sorry if I was wrong. I did msg my WC and will see what she says too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Are you close to the people required? If you are, you could just pay for the extras to have the same (I know brides who have done this). I would assume you would dance in the a'la carte, what would anyone need a 4 hour dinner for? Maybe I am wrong and another bride can jump in!!! - but if you are emailing attacking her (hahaha love it) you could double check. That's how I read it when I was planning my wedding though. PS - you def. don't need a dance floor. We didn't pay for it. People just danced on the regular floor. Good enough and gives you money to spend elsewhere. I have my WC on my Facebook too, I could ask her if people with the gold package do their dancing at dinner... I'll report back!
  13. Awe congrats, you look beautiful. Those are awesome photos I am so happy that everything turned out and the hotel made it extra special. I am so glad you got to spend that time with your parents, as you have been through a lot. Time is going to fly now lady!!!!!! ONE MONTH!!!!
  14. Hello! Congrats on your upcoming legal wedding December 19 is a special day in our house too - it's my twins birthday! Here is how I see it, but things could have changed since I got married in January... with the silver package you basically only get 1.5 hours for dinner and you would need the cocktail party after for dancing and speeches (like you said!) I believe these are only 2 hour packages, but you could maybe pay to extend it. with the gold package you get 4 hours in a private a'la carte, so I think most people would do their dancing and speeches in the a'la carte. You could hire to have the DJ in there. If you didn't think that would be long enough - maybe you could do dinner, speeches, cake cutting, and the first dance in the a'la carte then have the 2 hour cocktail party after for more dancing. How many people will be at your wedding? Another option is to see if you can upgrade to the palapa. I had the free package but upgraded my location only. We had the palapa for the rental fee which included 3 hours, but I extended it another 3 hours so my reception was 6 hours long. We had speeches, dinner, first dance, partying, cake cutting, then more partying! Went from 5-11pm. I found it was easier because everything just happened in one place. Noone had to move around and it was more than long enough. Just a thought. The location is also breathtaking. Hope that helps some.
  15. Awesome gifts. Everyone will love them and your sister will be over the moon. You are generous as said above:) I think your list is very doable and will help pass the time. Just keep up with it and you'll glide into departure mode in no time!!! Good luck with the interim job. Hate how work gets in the way haha dealing with that now myself. I heard of this Apple Music as I just did the iOS download (was against it for various reasons) but didn't really look into what was offered. Will check it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I feel you. I brought mine but it stayed in the safe the entire time except the wedding day. I was super nervous. I typically don't travel with anything that looks expensive. I feel so awful for her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Congrats on your legal today. Super exciting. Please post pics. Woohoo on the pants lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Omg that's awful. Did she have insurance? I'd be furious! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think they'll look fabulous 6 months will fly by! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. Welcome and congrats! If you use the search bar up top you may find threads for your specific resort too may help answer some questions while you wait for replies! This resort was on my list but in the end we chose the Mayan. I know of people who've stayed there and really loved it Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Sorry I've been so distant, I am just really short on time Thanks for checking in though and making us accountable Erin! And good job to you!!! I am about 13 weeks in and have clocked in at 11.6 lbs down! I am trying hard to workout once a week, but have been fairly good at eating properly. The closer we get to Christmas the harder it is getting, but I am surely trying!!!! Then Cuba in January and I am scared I am going to put it all back on hahah, but I will get there. About 12 lbs from where I am comfortable. Good luck everyone!
  23. Welcome and congrats! We had a recent bride from your resort -- her planning thread is here. You may find some useful info or even reach out to her with more questions! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78801-veryvaleros-wedding-planning-thread-grand-sunset-princess/ Good luck!
  24. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/76802-elsas-arthurs-wedding-rprm-20141208/ She had the same idea for her wedding
  25. Ugh that is frustrating. Not only that you lost your travel agent but that the company didn't move quicker knowing your deadline was fast approaching. Deadlines are stressful without that chaos! I hope she sorted it all out as she said she did and you can get some confirmation tomorrow. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
