  1. Awesome job on your invites! Our guys must be related! Mine could care less about all my planning. And he used to threaten me with go bridezilla if you want to, I'll haul your a$$ down to the JOP (Justice of the Peace)!!! I'm been actin' right ever since!!
  2. I bought my man a PS3 and PS4 with the games! He averages 25-30 hours a week. He only plays Madden so I'd much rather him log that time in his man cave at home than hangin' out with his boyz!!! It bring me comfort knowing where he is and what he's doing...after all, he's is just a man!!!
  3. @@MorganRene I don't think it's horrible to give them something fun to return home with. It's the thought that counts...make it easy on yourself and if having return tags is easier, then return tags it should be!
  4. @@MorganRene you need to get your numbers up so that you can see all the photos. I got mine in 2 days by commenting on pretty much everything, and playing knock knock jokes! You can do it, it's worth the time!!!
  5. If you had time, that would be perfect! Two months will be here before you know it. Buy the plastic ones and reduce your stress level. Have you decided what your tag will say? That took me the longest!
  6. @@MorganRene I am using them as actual luggage tags for the guests to place on their checked or carry on luggage. I did a trial run this past weekend as we picked up our marriage license in Vegas. The checked bags took the nonstop journey really hard, but were still in place upon arrival. Of course the carry on ones were lovely upon arrival. I purchased the luggage tag holders and plastic loops from an ebay vendor but saw them on Amazon as well. Some brides also used an upgraded version of the holder which I found here http://www.idsuperstore.ca/luggage-accessories-luggage-badge-holders-c-2091_52_66.html. But you can google "wholesale plastic luggage tag holders" and hopefully get some good hits. Good luck! Your gusts will love them!
  7. I have had a few guests ask the wedding colors. I'm not sure if they're asking in order to match or to steer clear of the colors. It sounds like people would rather know the dress code/wedding colors earlier in order to plan.
  8. How sweet...the excitement of the first few hours! Congrats and welcome to BDW! Get comfy, get your numbers up so you can access the awesome templates and photos that we share!
  9. I'm somewhere in the middle. I will be setting up a website for them to upload photos of the celebration without including the bridal party. But my family is so plugged in that I'm just not going to worry about it. I'll mention it in the welcome information but after that, I'll just hope for the best and enjoy the day!
  10. I'm excited to hear that some east coast friends have said they can't wait to wear all white in December! Here in Cali, we pretty much wear whatever color whenever we want. But on the east with distinct seasons, white in the winter is a no no! I'm hoping my photos are as pretty in reality as they are in my head! . Guests in black, white or beige, bridal party in red, turquoise and grey, mothers & fathers in grey! Oh, and the dress code does not apply to children. They are invited to match the bridal party or be colorful!
  11. I'm sending out a travel confirmation kit once they have booked air and hotel. The kit includes a fold-able water bottle, luggage tag, quart size bag, 3 oz bottles, gum, mints, a map of Vegas, info on what to pack, and other misc info. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a CD because honestly, what is Vegas music? I'm not sure how I'll send it, but will personally deliver the local ones and the ones to my family over the holiday. I'll send the kits right after thanksgiving through the first week in December.
  12. Thanks Kim! I needed to hear that! I got several closed lockets from Ebay when we got engaged...with this purpose in mind. I may be able to just write their names rather than a photo and that may be a smooth middle ground. Thanks love!
  13. I am in such a messed up situation. My fiance's family has many deaths due to family members' DUIs...so mentioning lost ones would be too emotional for his side. However, my family is the exact opposite. They died from old age and I totally want to honor my granny and aunties by name. I don't want to forgo the tribute all together because I want to recognize the loved ones who are watching from above. The locket idea will work for me but is it selfish to just acknowledge my side especially if he said, don't do it for his side. And I certainly don't want the NLAWS mad at me over a slight...
  14. Hats off to you for being able to keep such a secret! I wonder how close friends will feel reading in on FB? Are you having a party at home to announce the union before posting to social media? If I'm asking too many questions...just ignore me. It's a bad habit I can't shake!
  15. It's never a good feeling to be the plus one or guest. If you can find out the names of all the invitees, it would be greatly appreciated. Good luck!
  16. i always thought the site was started by a Canadian bride. I love this site although I do feel out of place on a number of levels; I'm American and not having a beach wedding, having a weekend party. However, this is by far the best bridal planning site I've found and the only one I'm active on! I love it here. The brides, the ideas, the downloads, the ideas, the templates, did I mention the ideas?!
  17. I played knock knock with a few brides...I forgot the punch lines.,..but our numbers got up! Hang in there...it's worth it!!
  18. Speaking from an Old-G...the slight was probably intentional on the bride's part because we are in charge of the list and if she knows her man's friends, then she knows he's engaged to you! There are a few roads to take, Ask your dude to get clarity and have a new STD sent that includes you--cause surely this was an oversight. You can chose to ignore it and wait until you get the invitation. Then once the official invite comes make your decision. If you are not invited, your dude should not attend --out of principle!! As far as inviting them to your wedding, keep them on your guest list because chances are if ya'll don't go to theirs, they're not coming to yours...You know how WE are!!! Most important, don't let this ruin your planning experience. I promise there will be more pressing issues for you to stress over. We should take a clue from your guy...,make a joke out of it and laugh it off. There's a reason why men are less stressed...they just let $hit roll off... I hope something here has helped you. Hope you get to 150 soon!
  19. i FORGOT TO ASK WHEN ARE YOU MAILING YOURs? I'm planning on mailing mine the first week of September.
  20. @@Tanya81 (wedding date twin!) AWESOME JOB!!! Kudos to you! I hope your guests are speechless when they go see it!
  21. @acw271011 Thanks for that info! I'm going to send one to Harry! Celebrity invites are real popular here in the states...I will be sure to let you know of any responses I get! Invitations will be mailed on my birthday which is exactly 100 days from our wedding! WHO KNEW?!!!
  22. @@acw271011 not bad at all! I'm glad I stuck it out...well worth the wait. It's funny, I saw old old some posts with brides begging for emails of the downloads because their numbers were low...and they never bothered to participate in the discussions other than begging for emails!! SMH... Easy for me to talk smack now....cause I'm IN!!!
