  1. @@MJTK This is a good idea, I have to ask them because I REALLY want Beso and the resort prices for airbrush are not any cheaper either, Michael and Martina from Beso have great reviews. I am looking forward to having them on my wedding day!
  2. Alison, I know this question was not for me, but I felt the same when I was booking a photographer. I chose Sarani after I met her in person when went to the BDR at el Dorado. Later I came home and saw all her art work, the amazing reviews and basically we ended cutting some cost on other things and ended hiring her, we communicated that to the WC in Miami and the vendor fee has been added to the wedding sheet. A good photographer was worth the effort. We knew Sarani's prices were costly and after doing some money re allocation we went with her. You may contact her and she will work with any price on her packages and the resort fee. Happy planning and what really matters is that you will be happy with any photographer you choose
  3. @@CharBec Hi send me your email and I will share the files that the wedding coordinator sent me, it shows all the venues. @@barnet202, below are the prices for cakes, if I have 50 people I will order a cake for 40 (10 or 15 less), I am Spanish and I really go for Dulce de leche, also Vanilla was yummy. I tried many when I went to the BDR Prices are below Special Event Cakes Large Cake 6 People $ 60.00 USD Cake 1 Tier 10-20 People $ 250.00 USD Cake 2 Tier 20-30 People $ 340.00 USD Cake 2 Tier 30-40 People $ 440.00 USD Cake 3 Tier 30-40 People $ 530.00 USD Cake 3 Tier 40-50 People $ 620.00 USD Cake 4 Tier 50-60 People $ 730.00 USD Cake 4 Tier 60-70 People $ 870.00 USD ■ Red velvet ■ Oreo ■ Vanilla rum ■ Coconut ■ Amaretto ■ Dulce de leche ■ Champagne ■ Hazelnut ■ Vanilla ■ Chocolate ■ Strawberry ■ Lemon ■ Carrot cake ■ Funfetti
  4. @@jeffandrobyn Hi There, I was thinking the same but instead I had Azul Sensatori. I ended choosing Azul Sensatori and sometimes I go back thinking that Shappire could have been better because the costs/prices are much reasonable. Go with your heart, Azul beach is very small and take that into consideration if you bring a big size group, Azul is more chic than Shappire. Between the two resorts, I would go with Shappire, I was there also in a scouting visit and loved the resort and its atmosphere and Ramon was amazing, also I was able to see two weddings and they were nice. One thing that I disliked was that there were not elevators (if I am not mistaken) I truly loved the venues at Shappire, I was not a fan of Azul Beach..good luck to you and happy planning
  5. @@Raquelita0715 Sorry to hear that and hope all works for both of you. Remember that things happen for a reason and this could be a way to put the planning aside and work on your relationship; also people should be respectful and discreet regarding your decision. I would send an email and a postcard (to non computer friendly guests) saying something like "while we are still committed as a couple there are facts that we did not count for and at the moment we would like to apologize for cancelling our wedding" (something like that) a message that would not involve your personal and current situation and leaves it open in a good way. Best to you!!!
  6. @@Lilian84 Yes, was almost going for Maggie Sottero Tracey... the price is $1,700 plus alterations. I will order it because I dont feel completely crazy about that dress or any dress. People say "you will find it" I cannot find the dress I am falling in love with I have to order basically ASAP if I want a Maggie dress...all are supper big on me and I think that is one of the reasons why.
  7. ha ha ha!!! I cant get enough every day for 150 yet... I saw the view and its cute @@Lilian84 something like this but I think nicer https://www.etsy.com/listing/99391918/ivory-flip-flops-white-flowers-with?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=PageTools&utm_campaign=Share http://www.6pm.com/nina-bradie-silver the for the reception I was looking at this http://www.dsw.com/shoe/audrey+brooke+quillan+platform+pump?prodId=303399&productRef=SEARCH I dont know...shoes and dress are in my head... you still have time, I am in April and no dress yet Also look into yellow box flip flops and nina
  8. @VegasBride121314 @Lilian84 ha ha..I am working hard on it...did the math to count how many per day to get there
  9. Good Question. I was thinking to get the flip flops pretty high or high enough that they are similar to the height of the heels. I know GUESS has nice flip flops for the beach or just look online for bridal flip flops and get them high. I will ask my seamstress this week, I dont even have a dress and I am having such a hard time getting what I want that I am thinking order it customized.
  10. @@Cj1053 I cant thank you enough for all your updates and experiences posted here. Also I am happy to know that you have an amazing time, as each of us always dream to live that More questions:) What shoes did you use with your dress? I was thinking to use flip flops with a wedge for the beach and heels for the Ceremomy at Plaza Zavas. I am worried that I get buried with any kind of shoes in the sand. How long would you recommend to use the photographer? we also are looking to get the mini video clip. Regarding your food I believe you chose the "pick and choose" plated menu with two entree options for more than 31 people? What prices were the bouquets for your bridesmaids? I have looked at bouquets for $60 but someone wrote on the board that you can ask for them a la carte for cheaper. Did you get ready with all of the bridesmaids or every one got dresses separately and met later?. I am curious because I am planning to pay for their hair style and would like to book in advance since you have recommended. I just don't really know if they should come to my room and we all will get ready (hair-makeup) or we all will go to the salon (I also have 6 bridesmaids and kind of want to know whats best since too many in my room might be stretchy) Thanks for the all the info and things that do not come to our minds like the men's clothing and the sendoff after the ceremony. My TA who is helping a LOT with the WC in Miami told me that we will make sure they announce to meet at Plaza for the reception after the ceremony. That is great that you mentioned it..thank you so much!!!
  11. @@Lilian84 I never thought of wedges, sounds pretty good. I have looked for sandals with plataform (like a flipflop with wedge) and also the heels for the reception. As much as I wish I could spend on JC shoes I wont because I have allocated my money differently for our wedding where have you looked for wedding wedges?
  12. I hear you...it is very expensive to bring someone for that much! thank you!
  13. I think Shoedazzle does that here in the US and they will send you a pair every month with your membership, you choose your style base on your personality. I am on the same boat looking for a pair. I definitely wont pay $300 for shoes. DSW has nice shoes for that occasion, I saw a pair for $50 that I liked and also Nina has nice shoes at a reasonable price... it always depends on how much you want to spend and there is nothing wrong to go with either a cheap pair or an expensive pair...as long as one is happy
  14. I dont even know if we get that here in the US, i dont think so because we did not get airfare
  15. @@Sabes44 very good that you got a good option for the room and the most important thing is that you love it and will enjoy all the benefits. my resort offers room upgrade but they do not sat yet anything, base on "availability" ceremony: comes with 24 free chairs after that $15 each free cocktail for up to 40 after that $10 each if 15 rooms are booked, free up to 40 people $10 after that semi private dinner: free up to 40, $25 after that. I think that what makes me upset is that the resort tries to nickel and dime you when you are bringing thousands of dollars in business, and what is horrible about my resort is the outrageous vendor fee...I recommend to anyone to look at the vendors that your resort offers because if you dont like that ...it comes to two options: use who you dont want OR pay what you dont want and bring who you want...that drives me crazy.
  16. @@calgarybride2015 @@LisaAnthonyPoppy @@tygrrlily so I rather than giving them a bag with many items, I think I will go for a one single item as a "welcome and thank you for joining us" will plan to give it to them at cocktail reception welcome party with a bomb fire. I am planning to give them say a bubba tumbler inside a customized bag (not a tote just a nice inexpensive bag) and it will have our names and the date on it, then add a kit with s'mores for those who would like to have have some sweets. One single Item that I though about: customized flip flops, T-shirt, bubba mug, ...thinking...thinking... Favors: who knows I am so confused because I keep thinking how the heck I am going to bring all that down to Mexico. lol so cute to use those lables...LOVE THEM and great for a favor can you share a pic of the luggage tag? I think the reason why TA's are not that great anymore is because the business itself might be hard to deal with...many brides prefer to handle all on their own (like us) therefore if they think to do one of those sweet gestures for the bride they might know or feel that the bride does not prefer it that way or they might have had prior experiences...I think I am using Destination Weddings and the first TA was horrible so I read here about a good one and made a phone call and requested her...I am happy with her now. She is super busy but always replies to my requests and tries to go for recommendations to save us money . I think we can all help you to get things well done, please let us know anything were we can help . I like your ideas for the OOT bags too..I am just scared of the final cost per bag and also how i will bring that to Mexico. I think that a good way to avoid the financial pain of the cost is to buy things little by little and that is why i am researching now.
  17. I feel disappointment sometimes regret with so many vendor fees and just two options for each category.
  18. Hi Congrats on your upcoming wedding, honestly I dont think it will be too hot you could perhaps research on weather sites, I think you will be fine http://www.accuweather.com/en/mx/cancun/235049/september-weather/235049
  19. @@Lia33 congrats to you and your upcoming wedding , I am also new and learning all. If I actually write step by step all of my process I would never end, it takes tons of time to research and do stuff...I looked at 12 resorts and went actually to Mexico to meet with each wedding coordinator (crazy me and my poor FI) but i have to tell you that I learned enough to start (first steps). Valentin was in my list, but i had to take off the list when I learn it was adults only. I visited: Dorado Royal, Generations Riviera Maya, Azul Beach, Dreams Puerto Aventuras, Dreams Tulum (one of my best and tops that sometimes kind of regret), Now Shaphire (another fav), Azul Sensatori (booked this one), Casitas Royal, Playacar by Palace Resorts, Grand Porto, Moon Palace, Real grand porto (or something like that in Playa del Carmen) wish you the best and we can keep helping each other
  20. @@kmk2016 I was reading last night and will continue today, honestly those dresses are stunning, I was amazed and excited about their work. did you use Western,BOA or CC ? I read a few concerns about Western but did not finish to see if people have been able to wire the payment with no issues or flags. Also she offers the designer lace which seems to be gorgeous.
  21. @@MJTK agreed, my package says "free ceremony decor" up to 24 people...really? after that is $15 per person for a cover chair so I want to think I will end up paying for the ceremony too. in other words I will pay anyways for the decor and for the same cover chairs that they use for weddings every week/month..so it is not free
  22. @@calgarybride2015 I would suggets that if you are second guessing try to get another cute pair and because it is only for a few people (only your bridesmaids) it wont be that crazy expensive if you stick to your budget, at this moment you might find great deals because the summer will end soon. The feeling you would like to avoid is to feel bad/cheap when you are giving them the flip flops or gifts, on the other hand I honestly dont think there is a big deal with flip flops since they are very laid back and you are going to have them for the beach, would you please send me the pic at [email protected] (working hard to get my 150 lol) I love the idea of the OOT bags with all the goodies inside, I am very worried because I will end up with a container in Mexico full of stuff, the more I think about all I will be bringing the more I convience myself that I will end up doing a one single welcome item. I also want to bring a frame for our guest book and a whole bunch of ideas in my mind (I have not purchased one item yet) Here I am brain storming with ideas for favors, OOT bags, bridesmaids gifts also items I will be bringing with me (then my head starts spinning with centerpieces, light bulbs, cake topper, sand kit lol )
  23. I sent an email to Kimmie and also messaged her using Facebook, so far she has not answer my email yet, I saw a posting on FB this morning where she says that the 10% discount will be reduced to 5% on August 3rd. Hope she replies my email
  24. @ I never thought celebrating out of the resort, it might have been better for me, sounds good @@Sabes44 I am not sure if you know but usually the couple will be upgraded to the next level (room), so if you chose the most expensive room, you might not be upgraded. Live music would be my best wish for my welcome party, but at this point I have to put that on the wish list and decide it later I forgot to mention my sand kit for the ceremony which was never included AND the TONS of things that are coming on the way and surely I will be posting here
