  1. @@kmk2016 Awesome, i did not think of bringing my own ...will see that option ...thank you again
  2. @@kmk2016 Thank you !!! speaking of attendants do you pay for your bridesmaids or do they pay for their own makeup and hair? and how are you planning your day getting ready? would you get ready with your maid of honor and your bridesmaids or just matron of honor and each girl gets ready on their own? sorry I just have no idea as of how it works. I was thinking to get ready with my matron of honor in the room and then tell each girl how I want the hair (will previously tell them about the hair salon so they can book if they want) Thank you in advance
  3. Congrats!!! Check Sarani Estrada...she is worth the cost, the problem is that I ended learning that all photographers there are not that cheap, visit her website http://www.saraniweddings.com/ Good Luck
  4. I am trying to figure this one now and honestly don't know if I should book the bridal room which comes to $276 for 3 hours and hairdo and makeup and some kind of massage (Bridal Essence package) OR go out to a salon OR bring someone and pay a fee and what fee vendor or day pass? all are fees at this resort .I REALLY appreciate any advise-suggestion-recommendation
  5. @@soon2BHammel719 Congrats on your engagement!!!, check the palace chain, they offer tons of perks and you might get lots of freebies. Also you can create a bid in Expedia for a group rate where you will set the price that you are allowed to pay. Usually they require you to book 3 nights minimum for you and your group, you will start getting quotes from many hotels that can meet your price and that will help you to be familiar with prices in the area you select. My huge recommendation is do no take this on your own...go with a TA because that is how you can get the perks and they will take care of you since the TA has history working with them good luck with all
  6. @@JMK923 Hope all went very well and congrats, who did you end up using for hair and make up? Thnaks for your reply Linac @@KScheer R you getting charge a vendor fee? or day pass to bring beso bride? OR will you go to them? thanks in advance

  8. @@kmk2016 I think I did not say that correctly, I was looking at the $1,500 package for .DJ All music which ends up to be the same with their rate plus the $800. Anyways sorry for the misunderstanding and thank you!
  9. Okay ALL this planning is just a lot, here I will provide to you what I have so far and please feel welcome to offer help... Resort: Azul Sensatori (Dreams Tulum was #2 and NOW Shaphire was #3) Location at Sensatori: ceremony on the beach by the pier gazebo and cocktail and reception at Plaza Zavas Scouting trip: yes, visited Mexico in May 2014 and planned 12 locations TA: Yes, Destination Weddings...you must pick a good TA, ALWAYS use a TA and don't stress yourself by doing it alone, it has many advantages doing it with a TA Save the dates: boarding pass magnet (small) with our pic www. magnetstreet.com (sent already) Stamps: Zazzle personalized them Invitations: passport invitation with RSVP in our wedding website, still pricing some options for the passport, planning to send it late Oct 2014 wedding website: ewedding Engagement pictures: Yes in Princeton NJ, use them for save the date, wedding website and passport invitation Photographer: Sarani Estrada, yes we agreed to pay the outrageous fee, her work is just amazing and usually it ends up to cost almost the same Trash the Dress: we might, all depends on the cash available (it can wait for now) DJ: We have hired Doremixx because we did not feel like the DJ from the resort was too great and no many reviews were found, except what the WC said, brides have made positive comments on the DJ all music, still we did not feel it. We prefer to spend our money in photos and reception Ceremony: ours is symbolic, planning to get marry Catholic at home, we got a package with the block of 10 rooms-memorable moments package- Vintage Elegance and will do the sand kit Reception decor: tables will be all white linen with organza white bows that are included (color bows at $4 each) and perhaps will add something that brings our theme color (coral). We are going to decorate with lanterns (the Chinese paper lanterns), each table will have a floral arrangement no to exceed $90-$100 per table, will pay for the set up of favors and anything else that comes in mind to decorate the tables, decor is a biggie and many brides get caught into this one...We also want the best but we have to watch because all adds up Bridesmaids: will pay for a corsage, not a bouquet (too expensive and I have many bridesmaids lol) SPA services: Yes planning to use them before the wedding day. 15% discount Reception dinner: pick and choose plated from the menu, food and beverage will have 20% discount Spoon semi private for 40 ppl: yes, will use it, also check on ALL your perks, we got good ones. Rehearsal dinner/welcome party: we are going to have dinner with the wedding party, followed by the welcome party. We are not doing something big (welcome party) since we just want everyone to celebrate and go to one party (our wedding). We are Planning to do the standing cocktail bites at $10 per person ($2 each and min 5 per guest required) and a bomb fire at $50 per hour. I might rent equipment for the ipod. Tours: Planning to go to Chichen Itza, still planning that one all the way. Also if we increased the room count we will get the catamaran for free with credit for food and beverage. Welcome bags: yes will give them on our welcome party planning to get from Zazzle, wedding chicks, and all the sites that brides help here with. Favors: everyone is doing maracas...not sure what to do but surely something that represents him and myself since we are from different countries. Stationary: still thinking about place cards, wedding planners -had fans (will avoid them if they are not needed) Honey Moon: Yes, planning to jump to Belize since it is so closed from that area All that is optional and added cost for the wedding will be through Lomas, except DJ and Photographer. Honestly It ended to almost the same, I bet Karisma charges their approved vendors the same $800 just that they dont disclose it. All our final cost will really depend on how many end up attending and booking...the more guests the more will end up adding. Please help-support-suggest and ask Lets have a fun and happy planning Linaco
  10. Are you sure they are not allowing them? I told my TA and WD about Doremixx and all they said is that I need to pay $800 which ends up costing the same amount to be honest. Also if you check their website (Lomas) it says that you need to pay $800 fee
  11. Congrats, we went for a scouting trip and visite 12 resorts in May 2014. We went to Playacar (Palace chain) I fell in love with that resort, the down of that was that the min requirement for the contract was 5 nights and you cannot obligate your guests to stay 5 nights when the average contract equires 3 nights. We also loved Gran Porto Real, ery very classy BUT I hated the rocky beach. If you are still hesitating I would recommend you a weekend visit Congrats and happy planning
  12. @kcole123 @kmk2016 I cant believe I am in this much trouble deciding on my gown...the funny thing is tha everyone at work kept on asking "did you pick the dress?' my answer was "thats my last concern" lol I guess,,,not anymore since I am just on time, otherwise they wont commit to the deliver (takes approx 6 months) Allure is about $1,200 and Maggie and Mid..is $1700 DONT KNOW what to do for real, two different stores too and the one that I like best does not carry Allure but can order it for me. no pic of me on the Allure because they did not allow me Allure would go nicely with a belt with jewels...still I am caught up into the beads that Maggie has because of the ocassion..Oh I need to make a decision and I have stopped looking (seriously)
  13. Thank you everyone! I cant believe I am still running thoughts in my head thinking about this dresses the one I have on #2 is Tracey from Maggie Sottero and Midgley http://www.sotteroandmidgley.com/dress.aspx?style=JSM1428&page=0&pageSize=108&keywordText=&keywordType=All Now I went to another store and tried this one which is different and all lace but gorgeous http://www.allurebridals.com/products/9169 Plus #1 I never knew that picking a gown was going to be complicated for me
  14. also a return stamp as I did for $30, it is very cute and adds a touch https://www.etsy.com/shop/stampoutonline
  15. @@Jennipher who did you end up hiring? I have contacted him and he is super responsive and it seems to be good. I am looking at both sides where communication is a must hope all went well
  16. Hi JMK923, Hope you had an amazing time . I will also celebrate my wedding at Azul in 2015 and I am looking to hire Doremixx. Who did you hire? honestly it ends up to cost the same with Doremixx cost plus the $800 resort fee. How was it? I have not heard that I cannot bring the DJ, if I pay the fee they will allow. I appreciate any feedback @@LaurenR I think you will be fine, your DJ will have enough lights. I will also celebrate at Plaza and my DJ said lights will be fine you will be fine... I would ask the DJ and the WC based on their experience @@Cj1053 Enjoy your special day, congratulations and thanks for the great posts
  17. @@murmel Murmel, First of all Thank YOU so much for putting all this time doing this, it is amazing and very well done. I do have a few questions for you, i read basically everything so I dont pretend to frustrate you asking what you have wrote. Reception Dinner: I am working with a TA from DW and I have so far a great experience, today I had my call with the Karisma Wedding Coordinator from Miami and so far I have my symbolic ceremony at the beach by the pier gazebo followed by our cocktail hour at Plaza Zavas, however I did notice that the coordinator tried to push for Alfresco as another option. I read that so far that is your favorite because it has the ocean view. I was there doing the Karisma BDR and visited Azul Sensatori but honestly do not recall all the reception areas except the most popular which is Plaza Zavas and the location of our wedding. Would you recommend Alfresco over Plaza Zavas? I just do not want to hear from them becuase I don't know if they have more requests for that spot since it is very popular. Also I was kind of worried to have a reception at either one of those because I would prefer to have extended hours and we know that by resort policies those mentioned need to end up earlier since they have rooms closed by...would you then recommend the beach? it was not an option because we do not want any sand on the meals one dinner time comes, but if we are allowed to stay longer partying ..perhaps we can just move it to the beach and party there until later....what do you know how late that can be? DJ: I reviewed the DJ the offered by Lomas "DJ ALL MUSIC" and honestly at this point the cost is about the exact same bringing DOREMIXX with the $800 vendor fee and they seem to be amazing. the DJ they offered is not any cheap either and DOREMIXX is pretty reasonable for what they offer and they great reviews, who did you use and what do you recommend? Centerpieces: At this point I have assumed the photographer outside vendor fee and perhaps the DJ (which honestly ends up to cost the same that using their approved vendors), but I also mentioned to the Wedding Coordinator today that I would bring my own place cards, wedding programs, favors and perhaps center pieces. All seemed to me that she tried to make me use/buy their services. Do they charge a lot for setting up? since we have distributed our cost by % of importance, we would go for all white linen decor (dinner reception) and perhaps get a nice and non expensive floral center piece per table from Lomas (no to exceed $100 per table), the Wedding Coordinator from Karisma mentioned that if I bring my own I need to pay for freight, tax to get it in the country, hassle of carrying all (which is true), also to assume the "set up fee" so perhaps at the end with all the cost involved plus the hassle, it will end up to be the same..what do you recommend as far as decor? We just want to be reasonable with the cost, have a nice wedding reception and place our cost where we believe have a priority (photos, DJ, food). SPA: The service to reserve the 3 hour bridal private room for the bride is currently at $136 plus services and all that I will get, do you recommend that? I was thinking to go for that but I am not sure, I dont want to get caught by the moment only. Also do you recommend to book the spa prior to the wedding or after the wedding? Should I book with the girls or alone? the resort would do up to 3 girls per session. I was thinking to tell the girls that I want them to have their hair up and live it up to them, rather than obligating them to pay $180 for hair and make up, if they want to pay it is up to them, mostly they will but I dont just want to impose the payment...I already appreciate that they are going there for me. any thoughts on that? Bridesmaids: I have 6 bridesmaids (yes many) would you think that having corsages it okay? I dont want to look too cheap if i provide that, honestly a bouquet for each will be just too much Any ideas as of what should I give to my girls for the gift? Ceremony: did you do the sand commitment piece at the ceremony? they charge $45 for one color and regular sand color OR I can bring my own at no cost (finally)...I think that is cute!! Thank YOU so much for any insight you can provide,,,,you have no idea how I appreciate it Have a wonderful day Linaco
  18. Would you please add me for April 2015 I appreciate it so much ..Thank you!!! Hi Elizabeth, perhaps you have created your website by now, but i wanted to let you know that ewedding is pretty good and affordable (we paid $50/year) and you can upload many many pictures, and songs also have your own domain. Good luck
  19. Thank you @Wrathwitch@candle23 I am on the same boat lol I cant see others...YET
  20. @Tracy989@tygrrlily It's tough, but fun to try all these gowns! I am happy everyone has helped. Thank you ALL of you. I also saw another one from allure that I loved but at this point I stopped looking because it gets worse :-) I will choose my pic #2
  21. @@Lalachka my #2 choice was Dreams Tulum... Resort is gorgeous, cleans and gorgeous beach
  22. I will get my session one or two days after our wedding and my photographer told me that I could buy a cheaper dress for the TDD photo shoot. you can get it online, etc. Best
  23. @stefadile@Meandhim@acw271011@acw271011@kcole123@kmk2016@TinkerSofi@Vika@@Icis Thank you so much girls, I cannot stop thinking about these two gowns. I love them both..I love #1 A LOT because of the nice line, the ruche top, bottom lace and how simple it is for a beach destination (a bit less heavy too), that dress was size 10 or 12 and they clipped me on the back, the girl at the store says #4 (my size) will just fit me better, BUT honestly my heart calls for #2 and I just did't want to rush the order because it wont be good if I look back and regret . @@Icis Thank God the price is not a concern . #1 is more expensive than #2 (I could not believe it) I honestly did not want to spend much on the dress , but at this point I am okay with choosing a nice gown and spending what the day deserves, however I have to say that I kept myself away from places that sells gowns that I cannot afford. I also read about ordering the dress from China BUT I would not risk that either. Thanks again girls...:)
  24. Tulle or a soft colored lace (depending on availability of colors), yeah chiffon is very common, The choices provided here are great. Perhaps look into wedding magazines best to you
