  1. Anyone in Canada know where to get these? The least expensive I have found is $8 at Chapters...
  2. Your place cards are gorgeous!!!! Did you make them yourself??
  3. Yes, I bought the same ones!!! Grr! I'll let you know if I find the perfect ones and keep me posted on your hunt as well
  4. They both look gorgeous...the way I decided was based on my body type! I have breasts that are on the smaller side, so I went with the sweetheart to give me a little sexiness haha! Both look great, but the added detail of the sweetheart on me made me feel sexier, and like I actually have curves lol! If you're larger in the bust and want to draw a bit of attention away or don't need to highlight them, I say go with the first option. LOVE the dress though...SO beautiful!!!! It will honestly look great either way
  5. These turned out so well!!! Where did you get the plastic bags you put the wedding week survival kit stuff in? I am either finding HUGE bags or tiny ones...any ideas?
  6. Ladies! Where did you get the plastic bags for your wedding week survival kits? I bought super small ones at Dollarama thinking I would use two, but my aloe is fairly large! I don't want them as big as a large freezer bag, but not as small as those craft ones at Dollarama. Help!
  7. Yes! The style number is F14847. Check it out online! The guava looks SO dark online and the coral looks nice, but in real life the guava is exactly what I would call coral. So bizarre. I just picked my dresses up though and I'm super happy with the colour. http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Short-Crinkle-Chiffon-Dress-with-Front-Cascade-F14847
  8. How much per hour is it to extend your reception? Do you just pay the $14 per person per hour? I'm a little worried because 6:30-9:30 isn't a whole lot of time, and the disco doesn't open until 11. missfreckles Yay!! You must be getting so excited, it's coming so soon!! I booked my photographer for two nights at the Barcelo Beach online using Mybarcelo and it was $300 with tax included. Definitely try that!! As for Adrian, he personally told me that I did not need to pay the day pass for him. In the case of a makeup artist, there is no $500 fee because although there is a spa, the hotel doesn't have a contract with them in the same way that they do with Smile Market/Kodack/Ocean View (or whatever they're called now!!). If you go with someone else there may be a fee ($75) per person to get a day pass...not too bad! As for a rehearsal dinner, I was told with my group of 25, there would be no fee. We would have a set menu (I've worked in a restaurant and this is simply easier for the kitchen!) and would not be all at one table, but would be in the same area of the restaurant. You CAN ask for a private dinner, but I felt like we could all get together for drinks after the rehearsal and dinner in the same section of the restaurant would be fine with me. It all depends what's important to you! I believe with the Tangarine package there is a complementary cocktail hour for a certain number of people and the Blueberry package as well, but there is no dinner included. Some packages have small print at the bottom that says you get free dinner or $ off for the number of people you have. Check out http://www.barcelo.com/BarceloWeddings/en_GB/mexico/barcelo-maya-beach-resort/wedding-packages.aspx Good luck with everything!!!
  9. Gorgeous!!!!!! I checked out your facebook album and they are all stunning! Congrats
  10. Has anyone else had the wedding coordinator talk about FRUIT centerpieces? I definitely didn't discuss this with her prior (I have already picked my FLOWER centerpieces), so I thought it was super weird! If she wants to throw in fruit centerpieces too, that's great but if they aren't free...lol. Anyone else have this experience?
  11. Much more activity on this forum about choosing the resort! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/21746/barcelo-maya-palace-brides/3570#post_1872966
  12. I'm not shipping mine. I would be so afraid they would not arrive on time!! We are just taking an extra bag with us. Also, I'm giving a few of mine out before (bridesmaids, sister, brother etc) so that we aren't having to pack ALL of them!
  13. Ahhh gotcha. Some of those things are so simple, you just have to play around with them. I can't wait to get my lanyards and ID holders in the mail so I can start making them
  14. I vote natural waist. Gives the best overall shape I think. Gorgeous dress!!!
  15. Definitely good to know!! I was worried about it too. I tried SO hard to explain it to my fiance...no luck haha! Glad to see it didn't matter a bit!
  16. I wanted to stay around $20 per bag, including the bag itself. We only have 25 people and I did a bag for each couple, with singles getting their own. If you coupon, watch for deals and shop around a bit (this does require patience hah!) you can definitely achieve that. What were you thinking for a budget?
  17. Thanks No it's not heavy at all. I also think I'll be so excited I won't even care! I also tried on a few destination dresses. I don't have the curves for that! I looked 12 hahah! I need a little structure to give me a good shape. Yay Barcelo brides!!
  18. David's bridal has super cute destination dresses in the colour Guava...it's what I would call coral. The dress in Coral, is more of a light peach.
  19. Found mine at Ethos in Edmonton, Alberta. There were NO dresses without layers upon layers of fabric, whichI knew were going to be disgustingly hot. So happy to have found this one for $850, and it's only the one thin layer Needs to be hemmed A LOT to fit my 5'1 frame, but I'm super happy with it!
