  1. Hair and makeup done for today!! I can't believe I pulled this look off by myself haha. I'm pretty proud! To be continued.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I'm so excited but right now things feel soo weird hahah. It feels like another day, but then it's not, and I know it's not . I guess because I didn't want to make a big deal out of the legal ceremony I'm a little bit like meh, and just getting really excited for Mexico. I finally finished the music last night. I'll give a full review of the wedding DJ app once I'm back and I see how it functions at the party I couldn't wait to review a little great item I bought because I think it will be helpful for you guys. I know a lot of us are planning on bringing a travel steamer. I think I bought like 3 or 4 of them and nothing seemed to work. Well, go figure, the cheapest one I got was great! It was only $25 at bed bath and beyond, and for a tiny little thing, this thing has power! The only thing is that you will probably have to refill it quite often because it's not very big, but that's kind of the point of a travel steamer haha. I took my veil that was pretty wrinkled and stiff from just hanging with the dress for about a year, and it left it gorgeous and soft! My only suggestion is to cover the head with a t-shirt or a cotton cloth to avoid water stains, depending on the material of your dress. I used that just in case. Here's a screenshot of the website, if you guys are looking for an affordable option to bring, this is it!
  3. Last day of being single!! Work is done, hair is done, nails are done. Now working on the last minute music stuff making sure that all transitions are smooth and that I give my MC the least amount of work possible. Tomorrow is still a busy day. The legal ceremony is at 1:30 (our officiant got confused and couldn't change it to 4:30, but oh well. So, I have to wake up early to get ready, then I have to go shopping for a few last minute things like pens for the guestbook etc. Then it's time to pack, woo!! All I have packed so far is just the wedding stuff, so there's some work to be done. Today was our last dance lesson. I think the dance looks pretty decent but Juan doesn't think so, that guy definitely puts pressure on himself! He said he's going to have a couple of beers before the dance to losen up haha, me on the other hand, one drink and the room is spinning, so if I want to land at least one turn right I better stay away from alcohol until after the dance . I'll post some pictures if I have time tomorrow of the legal ceremony
  4. These pictures are amazing! What a wonderful place for a backdrop and you guys are just so photogenic. I wish I didn't live that far away from this farm. Id love to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Thanks guys. I haven't had much time to comment because I've been so busy. I've worked pretty much all weekend plus all the last minute things, let's just say my stress is at it's peak right now. I just don't know how I'll get everything done. On top of that, work keep piling on this week. I had a bit of a meltdown on Sunday when I got yet another request for work this week. Agh!! All I'm praying for is that my client today finishes early. This is usually the opposite of what I want because I get paid by the hour, and I have to leave when my clients finish their testing, but I've had a streak of clients needing extra time and me staying extra hours. I just can't afford that anymore . Yesterday I worked with my MOH on the music. That's pretty much done. I just have to get some extra songs and add them on to the playlist. We got so many songs that we're definitely not going to run out hahah. Today is waxing day!! Finally!!! It's been so hot over here and me with my jeans, it's been unbearable hahah. Other than that, today is the day to begin packing and to go over the timeline with my brother (now the MC)
  6. Aww, I love it. I was also on the fence about the bridal shower because of the gifts thing. However, my mom really wanted to throw me one so I did. I didn't really do it for the gifts, I wanted people to get a chance to mingle before the wedding and I wanted us to have some fun, which we did and it was great . Isn't it weird when it just hits you all of a sudden? I was kind of scared first, now I can't wait and I'm so excited! It's so close now, yay!! Enjoy, this is where things get crazy!
  7. That's ok. I usually find their prices to fix things quite reasonable, so I'd be ok using them. Funny thing about Spence, the first time i sent my e-ring to be cleaned, they came back saying that the bottom was really thin and worn out (even though I've only had it for a year, so there was no way it got worn out from my usage). Juan ended up paying like $80-100 to get that fixed. Then, when I got my wedding band, it came in looking exactly as my e-ring had originally! So they totally do that on purpose to get your money after. I negotiated for them to fix it without charging me because I'd never used the wedding band yet and it was their mistake. Luckily their customer service is amazing .
  8. @@acw271011 thanks! Oh my god! Yes, next sunday! So little time, so many things to do! hahah Work just kind of exploded on me right now too. I'm trying to keep calm so I don't get sick when we go to Mexico or I don't get cold sores. I'm just so done with work haha, it's so hard to concentrate . Excitement is building up!! I'll post some pictures of the bridal shower, I was going to and then totally forgot haha. I asked the photographer about the timeline. I think now everything set up with him. I gave him what I had in mind and he said that it looked good and it was realistic. He said they usually arrive an hour before the ceremony and then take getting ready pictures up until 5 min before the ceremony. We're doing a favour for him so in return he was nice enough to give us an extra hour for free , which is so awesome! Now I'm working on just letting go, I am a total control freak, but I think once I'm there I won't care so much. As long as people and us are having fun everything will be ok. That's the main goal of the day. The timeline is a bit more strict at the beginning but after we hit the reception I have "estimates", sort of guidelines I guess. I think it will make everyone's life a lot easier. My brother agreed to be the MC! I'm happy about this choice because well, he's my brother and he knows us both so well. He's one charismatic guy. He actually offered to do it. Yesterday I ended up moving our legal ceremony from next friday at 1:30 to 4:30. Juan's dad (his only family here) won't be able to make it because he didn't take the day off. I still don't know why. I told Juan that he should just call in sick hahha, or work only half day. This poor man has been working for like 8 years without a vacation and he never calls in sick. I don't think they'll say anything for one day.
  9. Double congrats!I I'm sure you'll find a ton of info here
  10. Juan wanted to get mine soldered before we left but I was afraid they won't fit when put together, etc. It's just too late right now, I'll probably wait until we're back. I haven't worn my e-ring for 3 weeks almost, it definitely feels weird haha.
  11. i haven't even started packing! haha. Well the wedding decor is packed for the most part but not out clothes. I don't know when this will happen, probably the day before lol.
  12. I'm good! I'm getting a little overwhelmed by all the small details. I've been trying to go to the gym this whole week and haven't been able to. I know it sounds petty, but that's my biggest source of frustration right now hahah. By the time I leave work, head to my daily beauty appointment, and get home, I'm exhausted and there's no energy left for the gym. Other than that, things are pretty chill
  13. @@jacquewedding you have plenty of time. I know it feels overwhelming right now, but as long as you do little things along the way you'll be ok and you'll get to your wedding day with very little stress . Once you choose and book your resort things start falling into place and that's were the fun part begins .
  14. yay! I'm so happy you picked and booked a resort! It must feel like a huge weight off your shoulders . Even if the price goes down, it's better to have the security that everyone can get a room, etc. Our hotel a few weeks ago, dropped from $1300 to $950 for the cheapest. I wanted to scream hahah, but then i remembered that they might have 5 rooms left and so if we had waited this long who knows if everyone would have been able to come. I can't wait to see your dress! I've been waiting for these pictures anxiously. I love looking at other brides' dresses . I think you made the right choice with a champagne overlay, that way the cake will be the focus point of the table
  15. Yeah I think I spent $45 for all mine, including all the supplies I didn't have like paper punchers and things like that.
  16. I love the wedding band/s ! They look great with your e-ring and you'd never guess that they weren't a matching set.
  17. @@deecol that's super cute. Our story was a bit different. Juan didn't want to have groomsmen, but his one friend really wanted to do it so he was like "ok" hahah.
  18. that's such a good price! I can't believe I was thinking of spending double! haha. I think I'll stick to the tried and true method for now and go with fake eyelashes, but I might have to try these extensions for something else when I come back! @@diadiamond honestly, laser is so worth it, as long as you go to a place where they know what they're doing, which can be a lot harder than you think. My hair was quite thick, almost teenage boy beard kind of thick in a few places haha (gross), but after laser I have a bunch of bald spots now and the hair is very very thin. At least it doesn't look like it belongs to a guy's face anymore, so that's a success in my books! Because the cause of the hair are hormones, chances are that it will never fully go away, but I think 3 months in between laser treatments is manageable. I used to go more often at the beginning, but now I do every 2-3 months. @@Wafflesmom fake eyelash glue also irritates my eyes a little, but since I wear them only a few hours at a time I can manage it. If it gets too bad I can just go and rip them off after the pictures haha and then just wear mascara for the rest of the night . I'm afraid that because I can't take off the extensions on my own and having that on everyday all day, my eyes will end up all puffy. I think since I am so close to the wedding I better not try anything new. @@deecol that's what I keep telling myself. It is what it is, and yeah I wish they hadn't screwed me over with that money, but oh well. I wasn't expecting for them to return the money I paid on tips, but the treatment didn't even work! so technically no, I didn't get a treatment "for cheap", it ended up being really expensive. In a way it didn't surprise me the way she reacted, every time i've gone to that place she has been kinda rude but I kept going because the laser was good. Bad choice on my part I guess.
  19. OMG that quote is just insane! Yeah, maybe I'm cheap too haha. But they're just invites. Looking back I really wish I hadn't obsessed as much over them and I'm glad that I didn't obsess even more. Most of them are probably in the dump by now and after such a long time I still had to remind people of all the info on there time and time again. Definitely not worth $800. I also went the DIY route Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'm lil bitch. I'm not sure what that means haha. Maybe because I'm short? But we're not all short [emoji13] I love the bottles for your bridesmaids. I also just asked them, nothing special there but I kind of wish I had gotten more into it [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @@Wafflesmom yeah, i thought so too. Unfortunately the person I spoke with was the owner of the place so there was not much else I could do. I just took that money as a loss, despite the "discounted price" I still ended up paying like $180 after counting the tip and everything. Yesterday I went to another place for laser, the lady was very knowledgeable and the place was actually recommended to me from a friend, so I hope no one just quits hahah. I asked her about lashes, since they do them there but they didn't have anyone to do them right now. She said that I have long eyelashes already so I probably wouldn't need them. She asked me if my eyes were sensitive, which they are, even eyeshadow irritates them after a while. She said to just get fake eyelashes to be applied the day of. She mentioned that she has sensitive eyes as well and extensions make her eyes look a little puffy. I think that's what I'm going to do. With possession of the house right around the corner I'll probably need those $200 for something a little more useful (although darn, those lashes look amazing). I'm heading to MAC either today or tomorrow and I'll see what I can find . Maybe I'll get mine tinted, since that's pretty cheap and because the end of my eyelashes are blonde I think it will have a nice lengthening effect .
  22. I second the fact that PCOS will get better! Mine was a bit all over the place at first, with a lot of new symptoms showing up. I guess I had a bit of weight issues when I was 13/14 and I first got diagnosed, but then they seemed to settle down. I was never super overweight but I was definitely bigger and I remember that it didn't matter what I ate (or didn't eat) my weight wouldn't change. It was a tough time. My mom would suggest all these diets which were all terrible and made me feel so grumpy. I find that exercising regularly and somewhat watching what I eat has been enough for now to balance things out. No special diets or depriving yourself of things. I didn't find this side of me until I got to university though and that's when I started noticing changes in the symptoms, the hair stopped growing as much, periods weren't as painful, the weight is normal. So, it takes time to get used to a chronic condition and finding what works, but you'll get there. I'm sure it will take you less time than me, after all teenagers are all about instant gratification and I couldn't care less about my PCOS back in the day. @@acw271011 I don't know if this is everyone's experience, but I find every 3 or 4 years my hormones go out of whack for a month or two and then they go back to normal. I don't know if this is even a proven fact or just my own experience.
  23. yeah, it was the same for me and decor. About 6 months before the wedding I actually got everything out and realized I didn't need anything else so I stopped buying stuff. Otherwise I would have kept spending and spending and in the end you have no way to carry all this stuff with you
  24. I've mentioned it on other threads, but two weeks out and I'm pretty chill right now. It's all because I had so much time to plan, it was so nice and spread out. There were a few high stress moments but usually about things I couldn't control, like people cancelling etc. However, when it came to the planning itself it was nice and relaxing because I had so much time
