  1. Ahhh Canon, always a classic. Great choice Omg, I haven't even thought of other songs for the ceremony lol. 6 months to figure it out anyway...
  2. Oops I didn't mean to submit yet lol. So today was going great until the fiancé brought me home a coffee.... Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. Starting weight is 160, but I'm short... If I got to 125/130.. I'd be so happy! I'm going to Zumba tomorrow weigh in on Thursday, fingers crossed!!!
  3. Wow! So excited to have some online weight loss buddies! What I drink that is total crap is pop and double doubles. And at family dinners we usually have a drink so make that a crown and coke, one or two a week.
  4. Did anyone else do this? Buy a smaller dress on purpose? I realize now it was a pretty ballsy move, but I am determined to make it fit. I WILL fit into that dress! Since I don't know you all, I feel like I can tell you they wanted me to buy an 18. EIGHTEEN!?!?! No way Jose! I ordered a 14 which is STILL bigger than any other clothing item I've ever bought, but I guess wedding dresses are just like that. Turns out it would fit in the bust and the hips, I'm just a little too round in the middle. From what I've read, good news that's the easiest stuff to lose! I want to lose even more, so I can feel great in beach wear, but one step at a time. So far, I'm eating way healthier, getting exercise a few days a week at least and trying very hard to stop drinking calories. I'm open to any tips or suggestions or stories of success (or failure for a dose of reality!). If you're on the same mission, I welcome you to keep in touch with me - I have great support with my friends and I'll be happy to support you too, we can do this together!
  5. How much are you spending on average for OOT bags??? I'm starting to think I don't really need to do them, I could spend that money better elsewhere... seems very expensive!
  6. I'm thinking I should get our bouttonieres done this way! Maybe I can use the flowers from the resort for my tables intead!
  7. Highlight of my day - when there are new posts in this thread!!! This website is my favorite find EVER!
  8. I started working on this now.. Being inspired by you all. I'm seriously considering Everything by Michael Buble to walk down the aisle. Fr the reception dinner so far I have - This years love - David Grey Come on get higher - Matt Nathanson Good Life - One Repuvblic Sunrise - Norah Jones Yellow - Jem (originally a cold play song) A thousand Years - Christina Perri Fallin for you- Colby Callait
  9. Dreams Tulum I'm excited about it, it has some great reviews and my friend has been there, and my TA so I'm confident it will be great but like I said, in retrospect I might have booked somewhere a little cheaper.
  10. Thanks for all of your info that's great advice, ill be sure to do that. I've been so non-committal to my working out and dieting. I've been going hard at it fir a little over a week and it feels different this time, I know I will stick to it. And I'm down 4 lbs already! Yay!
  11. Our guests price was 1735 but they had to pay up front otherwise it went up to 2135, this was a problem for some of the people we invited. It worked out in the end but if I could redo it, I'd pick a cheaper hotel... Problem is I didn't know about the "early booking bonus" and totally sold the fiancé on the hotel and then he refused to change our pick... Ugh.. It was stressful. We were thinking if taking the free package and adding on a reception, but the package didn't include any photos. Turns out to add on a reception is about $2000. If we did that, we can't really spring for a photographer, so we ended up picking the "ultimate" package that has EVERYTHING. Lol. But it has a reception, and photos.. So I'm happy. The package is 3000. So our two trips are 3470, plus we are paying the extra 200 his mom has to pay to have her own room.. So 3670 now. Plus our package 3000. Plus my dress 860. Nothing else bought yet. I'm guessing about $10000 at the end of the day.

  13. I've stayed at this hotel twice, though the last time wasa few years ago. The first time I had never been on a vacation before, and the hotel was great but I was really disappointed with the food... Now that being said, I went with my parents (I am an adult lol but it was a nice trip with them) and did pretty much what they wanted to do. I did enjoy the a la cartes but they preferred the buffet more and the grill. The second time it was just my friend and I, and I decided to give it another shot because I figured there was soooo much to do, the staff is amazing, you can walk to the market and I felt I didn't get to try everything the first time. The food was better, I tried all the a la cartes, I had a more reasonable expectation for the buffet, it's hard to remember things are going to taste different no matter what and it really was fine. I went on the day trip to Santo Domingo, it was GREAT, I would recommend it to anyone. And again, the staff and service were amazing. Thought I'd out it out there frankness getting married there. I'm getting in married in Mexico as my future mother in law is frm Mexico and I'd also lie go go somewhere else for my next vacation! I might go back to Barcelo Premium again in the future though, my fiancé has never been to DR and its a great trip and a great price usually.
  14. Oh wow, I grabbed one of these when I was at dollar tree recently for the same purpose, wanted to try it out! I'm excited now:)
  15. November 14, tons of time! The re centre I go to has a pretty great Zumba teacher but I think it's extra for Sentao, ill keep an eye out for a groupon!
  16. Wow! You've got me excited about Zumba again lol. I wasn't eating as healthy as I was then so ill probably have more success this time. I just need to lose 2 dress sizes, anything else is gravy! (To fit my dress, more to be beach ready lol)
  17. Really? A couple of inches??? Wow! I didn't have as much luck with Zumba I'm afraid, it was fun but didn't do much for weight loss. Hot Yoga was HORRIBLE lol, but just for me. I was so sick after, I puked and was realllllyyyy dehydrated. Looks like just regular cardio and weights are what ill have to do.
  18. Welcome!! You're going to find a lot of great tips here, I know I have!!
  19. So, by looking online at wedding cake pictures.. I'm thinking of getting a cake elsewhere. I used to day this wasn't important to me, but now I'm thinking... I'm a cake decorator, I can't have an ugly wedding cake... that's tragic! I also used to say I don't understand how bridezillas can happen... but my goodness, it's easy! I had a horrible experience with my dress, there's been the odd mixup with the TA but she turned out to be really great in the end, family drama drama drama... yiiiikes. But back to the topic of cakes, anyone have an opinion on this? I'm just thinking something small... but maybe the resort cakes aren't so bad, the booklet looks OK, I wonder how much the real life cake looks like the picture though.
  20. Oh my gosh, this is the CUTEST! I have a wee little ring bearer, I have to find something like this for him in Edmonton!
  21. Wow, some great ideas. I never thought of doing anything different with our ceremony.
  22. I'd love to hear how that works out for you. I only need to use 3 or 4 so I figured if we bury them in our suitcases they will survive.
