  1. Thanks ladies! I definitely like the streamers better than the cones. That's exactly what I wanted to know, if they served the same or different purpose. Brownsugarbride, I bought everything at Michaels: dowlers (I prefer to just call them sticks lol) and bought 3 different color ribbon. Then you glue the end of the ribbons to the end of the stick and wrap it with another piece of ribbon so you can't see the glued on ribbon and way lah!
  2. I think my FI and sister/MOH are kinda tired of hearing wedding talk everyday and I know I can come here for a little input! I have become diy queen and finished my first project maracas that will be placed on place setting (shake for a kiss/party prop) Then for the ceremony I was planning on making these paper cones for confetti Until I saw this!!! Looved the idea so much that I went to Michaels and went to purchase the materials to make them BUT now I'm thinking what will the guests do with them after the ceremony? Throw them out? Take them to the reception? But then they would have the same use as the maracas won't they?? Should I just have both?
  3. Absolutely love your planning thread!!! I doing a chevron theme and also using Wedding chicks! That site is great with the free printables!!!! I had a quick question for you. You posted a picture of your menu on a purple cloth napkin. Did you buy those for your reception? I want a specific color, don't want to go with plain white cloth napkins but I'm not sure if the resort will have different color selection.
  4. Don't have a Maggie Dress yet but I'm soooo excited because I'm finally going dress shopping and going to try on the Divina and the Jenna!!!! Can't wait!
  5. I Here's my plan regarding my FI last name. I don't have a middle name so I'm making my last name my middle name and his my last name... Does that make sense? Lol
  6. I thought it was too early to start shopping for wedding dresses and was planning to go around Oct/Nov.. Well come to find out, this is actually when I need to be looking for a dress for a July 2014. I'm soooooooo excited because I just scheduled 2 appointments to go try on Maggie Sottero dresses!! It's really hitting me, after a year long engagement and another year to go, that it's finally happening!!!!! AAAHH!
  7. OH WOW REALLY??? No off the racks for me I'm 4'11 I'm going to need a sh** load of alterations!! Man I better get a move on then! No we made the decision based on reviews/pictures/pricing/location that we wanted to get married at that resort so I guess we are just going to confirm our decision... Lets hope we fall in love with it in person. I have been working on some DIY projects and starting ordering little details for reception but that's about it.
  8. NICE!!! I leave on my site visit/vacation next Thursday! we are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera Maya. I CANNOT wait to try on dresses. I don't know why I still think its a bit too early for me at least. I will probably go in October/November. LOL at you looking at tons of shit and lists because thats exactly what I do all day!! Between this forum and pinterest, I am obsessed! What the hell am I going to do after all the planning is over!!!!!
  9. Hi NJBride2014!! We have a few things in common! I'm from NJ and also getting married next year! My STD are also from Magnet Street lol. I totally agree with you, they were super easy to design and very inexpensive! I haven't ordered mine yet but I got a sample one and I looved it! I'll be ordering the rest in a few weeks. I think I will be printing addresses on clear labels. As far as the stamps try Zazzle.com you can costumize your stamps. I'm planning to get a life size cut out of my dog to incorporate him in the wedding. My FI doesn't know about so it will be a complete surprise to see our dog at the wedding! Happy Planning!
  10. Super Thanks to RaynDrop for suggesting giving stuffed tumblers to my guests (in a different thread). I ran it by FH that same night and he loved the idea too (he wasn't too thrilled of the OOT bags) SOOO TUMBLERS IT IS!!!!! Now I have a silly question. Who gets one?? Is it one per family/couple or one for each and every guest?
  11. I decided a wedding website wouldn't be necessary for us. I didn't want to go crazy on my STDs so I'm sending a magnet with just our picture, name/location of resort and our wedding date. Thanks to this forum I found threads with great ideas on this. I borrowed the wording from a bride and will be including an insert along with the STD, here is what it says: Arrangements and accommodations should be made directly with (Travel Agency Name). In order to keep our group travel plans coordinated, we encourage you to contact (name of travel agent) at your earliest convenience for discounted pricing and availability. A minimal deposit can be placed to hold your flight and room. Prices include your room, all meals and airport transfers. We look forward to sharing this special day with you! (At the bottom I included address/phone/email of travel agency. Hope this helps!
  12. The brochures is a great idea for guests! I'm going to be picking up a handful during my site visit at the Barcelo Maya Palace in Riviera maya
  13. Great planning thread! Your shoes are GORGEOUS!! im a sucker for Designer brands! I am using printables from wedding chicks including the thank you sign. If u don't mind the silly question, mine printed on the entire 8.5 x 11 paper but yours looks a little smaller which I like because maybe I can display on each table. What size is your sign/frame?
  14. RaynDrop, Believe it or not the FI was the one that shot down the idea of the OOT bags, and I am not going to lie I was a little heart broken. I looove the idea of the tumbler, I might have to consider that one. YES! it's almost one year to my wedding! I am actually leaving to Mexico for a site visit on the day of the one year mark! I'm so excited, I am counting down the days! So far the planning has been going great. I have started purchasing things here and there and once I return I will be ordering/sending my STD. Thanks for asking! When and where are you getting married?
  15. I'm with you on that one! Some OOT bags on here are amazing!! These brides go above and beyond with the bags. I even find myself going to the dollar store just seeing what I would put in them LOL but again, it would be things that people would normally already pack with them. I think it would just be up to you and most importantly the budget.
  16. I was debating the same thing BUT I think I'm leaning toward not doing them. I went to a DW once and most of the things that were in the bag I never used including the tote. Would suck to spend money on something people will never use or throw out. I have also seen a lot of OOT bags on this forum packed with things people (or at least I think they would) would already take with them on any trip. I think I am just doing OOT bags for my bridal party as a gift and give a welcome letter to each guest upon arrival, maybe leave it at the lobby where they check in. They will be getting favors at the reception anyway.
  17. I'm a school teacher on summer break with a lot of time on my hands that said just finished my first project!! So excited!
  18. Woohoo!! They are gorgeous!!! Once I put them on I knew I had to buy them. Me too, these are my 3rd pair and I love them!! They will have their own photoshoot the day of the wedding!! LOL!!
  19. Thank you!!! My wedding is not until next year but I knew I wanted a pair of Christian Louboutins which sell out in a heartbeat. I knew if they had my size I needed to buy them right away!
  20. Woohoo!! I'm a Jersey bride too!!! I'm getting married July 2014 in Riviera Maya, Mexico!!
