  1. My TA helped arrange everything and got us help with getting more prompt responses. I vote TA.
  2. Katie: Even though both of our dresses were posted on the same page, I didn't realize how similar they are! They seem to have the exact same design, but from two different designers (Yours: Ella - right? ; Mine: Alfred Angelo)
  3. I was thinking the same things! You have got a future in the hand modeling business!
  4. Great addition! I hope this helps someone. I have to say that I really liked the David's Bridal gowns I tried on but the one caused me physical pain while trying to put me in the dress. I still cringe when I think of a side zipper - she pulled and pinched my skin. Oh man. Bad memories. Beautiful Vera dresses, but bad bad memories.
  5. In case anyone happens upon this forum, I have an updated list that I posted here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/81754/wedding-dresses-in-washington-dc-area-under-2000
  6. When I searched for bridal gowns, I had the hardest time finding a list of salons in the Washington DC area that sold gowns under $2000, preferably under $1500 (I just couldn't live with myself if I paid more than this for a dress that I wear only once). After much research I finally came up with my own list and would love to share it with you. The following are a list of salons that have reasonably priced gowns: Alfred Angelo in Springfield, VA. I ended up buying my gown here. Katherine's Bridal in Alexandria. This had my second choice dress. Beware: they won't let you take pictures which was important to me since I wanted to see how I looked in photos with the dress on. Moni's Bridal Boutique in Manassas, VA. Jeanette's Bridal in Manassas, VA. David's Bridal in Rockville, MD. The Bridal Boutique in Columbia, MD. Not great for beach brides since most of their dresses are pretty heavy. However, a large selection of gowns. Bobbie's Bridal in Fairfax, VA. Rosalin's Bridal in Falls Church, VA. Distinctive Designs Bridal in Rockville, MD. - This one was far for me but it was my favorite of all the salons. Absolutely great salon. I love the layout. Beware: they won't let you take pictures which was important to me since I wanted to see how I looked in photos with the dress on. Pattrapon Bridal in Kensington, MD. Cute neighborhood especially if you love antiques.
  7. I thought it looked familiar. I totally tried on that dress and loved it, but it didn't look half as good on me as it does on you! I love it!!
  8. BEAUTIFUL dress! What's the dress/designer name? It is beautiful!
  9. LolasMom71: Could you post the documents they gave you for the Suites? It would be great to see the differences and see what we have to do when our time comes. Only if you have time of course.
  10. Great thread! Have you done a review yet? I would love to see how everything turned out!
  11. If you don't mind me asking, how much does Elite Media Concepts charge? I would love to go with them, but I have no idea what there cost is. I am still waiting to hear back, but in the meantime RG Weddings told me it is available. Anyone know the prices Elite Media Concepts charge??? Help is greatly appreciated!!
  12. Laura - Can I ask how much you are paying for this? I want to do a catamaran rehearsal dinner but I can't find anything affordable. I keep finding quotes for $72pp and we may be having between 60-100 persons, so that's quite a lot.
  13. I think I figured out what I want to give as gifts to the bridesmaids: pearl bracelet from BlueNile.com for $40: http://www.bluenile.com/freshwater-pearl-bracelet_7190 Robes from Plum Pretty Store - 4 for $260 ($65 each) http://store.plumprettysugar.com/bridesmaid-set-of-4-knee-length-kimono-robes-assorted-prints/ I want to do something simple and classy, but I am worried that I am going over board since those prices don't include tax and shipping AND I am paying for their hair & makeup too ($135/pp). Is this too much? My other thought was to do Havaiana flip flops instead of the pearl bracelet but the bracelet is so classy...

I want to do something simple and classy. Moms' gifts - not too sure just yet...
  15. Thank you so much for the information. I don't necessary want first look photos - I actually would like for him to see me for the first time when I am walking down the aisle. However, because we didn't do engagement photos and we are 95% sure we aren't doing TTD to save money, I really want some pretty beach daytime photos, not just sunset photos. We are moving our ceremony to 4:30, which is two hours before sunset. I hope it works out. My thought is that it could be raining or dreary on our wedding day anyways so I might as well not think too much about it and not hire her to come early and then have it be the worst day outside for photos (hopefully this wont happen, hopefully it will be beautiful out, but at least this helps my thought process on this one). AND, in the end, it will all work out because I will be married to my best friend (cheesy... I know). Happy Monday!
