  1. We got married 10 days ago in St. Thomas & used Janelle from Island Bliss Weddings for our ceremony. We then had our wedding reception back on our cruise ship. Janelle was absolutely fantastic! Let me know if you have any questions!
  2. I plan on having my MOH give it to him on the morning of the wedding =]
  3. I'm flying on United with my wedding dress and was told that would count as my carry on & I can bring an additional personal item as well.
  4. Beautiful! I just got mine back a couple weeks ago!
  5. Planning has been going well our wedding is in December so its almost here! We're getting married in St. Thomas using an outside planner (Island Bliss Weddings) and will be having our reception back on the ship with Carnival. For personalization we are bringing our own silk flowers, favors, OOT bags, cake topper, programs, guestbook and decorations for the tables in the main dining room.
  6. Lots of good ideas in this thread, thanks!!
  7. We plan on tipping our wedding coordinators after the wedding. I purchased thank you cards that I am bringing with me and will add cash to. For the hair salon I will tip the person immediately after my hair is done, same for the person applying my make up. =]
  8. We didn't want to get married during hurricane season & we wanted to cruise during a time where cruise prices were really good, so we chose December since the first two weeks are pretty reasonable & its after hurricane season. =]
  9. I was able to bring mine on my last Carnival cruise last year without any issues. Mine is pretty compact though which may be why. I ordered it on Amazon.
  10. I'm flying with my dress to Florida (where the cruise leaves from), I then plan on having it steamed there at the bridal shop and I also purchased a travel steamer to take with me on the ship for $30.
  11. We did the exact same thing. We put the deposit down for our cruise and paid for our reception through the Carnival wedding department. We then sent out Save The Dates to all guests with the cruise information. We are letting everyone book on their own, with who they want, because we didn't want to have to deal with calling and hunting people down about making payments. When one of our guest books they usually call or e-mail us and then we call Carnival and link the reservations together. Its been hassle free and very easy! So far we have 25 guests booked and our wedding is in December 2012. There are still some guests that plan to attend which is great, because they can book on their own time and with who they want and I don't have to worry about it. I'd highly suggest going this route.
  12. Great thread! Super helpful, we are adding to our music list everyday!
  13. I am also getting married in St. Thomas, but I am getting married on the beach. I am using Janelle from Island Bliss weddings to plan my ceremony. You may want to look up her website, she does ceremonies and receptions in St. Thomas USVI.
  14. Congrats! I am also a December 2012 bride. Getting married in St. Thomas USVI =]
  15. So far we have our ceremony/reception booked. Our photographer booked. STD's have been mailed out. Wedding website is finished. Deposit has been made on my dress. We currently have 10 rooms booked (20 guests), not including my fiance and I. Super excited to start 2012. Congrats ladies! =]
  16. I also plan on doing DIY invitations for our cruise wedding. Great ideas!
  17. What a great idea! I will be sure to look into these.
  18. We booked the DJ, for the same reasons as the other ladies. I plan on having a detailed outline for the DJ as far as order of the reception and what songs need to be played for the first dance, etc. I am going to print it out and bring it for him/her.
  19. Hey! Congrats to you as well. I am also a Carnival cruise bride getting married in December 2012. We decided not to do OOT bags, but favors instead. Originally we were going to order some bags from Vista Print, because they e-mail me some great coupons and you can design them yourself on their website. Be sure to check it out and sign up for their e-mails. We have ordered quite a bit of stuff from them already. I think April is a little late to send your STD's. I know I would need more then a 5 months notice for a cruise wedding, especially if I have to fly somewhere. We mailed out our STD's over a year in advance and we didn't create a group booking because we wanted everyone to be able to book how they want. We currently have 10 rooms booked with a total of 20 people and more will book once tax season comes. We are hoping for a maximum of 40 people ( we want to keep it pretty intimate). Do you have your dress and everything already? How far you along with planning? Congrats again! =]
