There are certainly 10 phenomenal photos here but, in keeping within the Candid theme, #6 and #8 stand out the most. #6 - a moment the B&G might've missed and #8 a moment that is so unique and fun and that will not soon be forgotten by any of their guests. My girls are wearing dresses by Impressions. We are splitting the $200 cost with them. Is that an option? You paying the $50 difference? If not, my suggestion would be - if you are comfortable with it - to search for the dress they all like online. There are A LOT of discount bridal sites. Usually the same dress you can get online for $25-75 less than the store. Depending on how much shipping is, it may be worth it.

Of course we would pay for everyone's week long stay, with excursions galore, and then have an extended island-hopping honeymoon, with an anniversary cruise for all!!!

If it helps any, my mom is paying for the wedding package/reception, his family is paying for the welcome dinner (we wanted something away from resort) and FI and I are paying for everything else (photographer, favors, OOT, dress/suit, etc). We have not yet decided on whether or not to have an AHR.

How cute!!!! I did not see the show, nor have I heard of it, but would be totally interested in pulling something like this together. We were just going to do volleyball/football on the beach but it would be cool to do something EVERYONE could participate in. Was it more running relays, or like water balloon toss type stuff?

I actually found my dress yesterday!!! From what the consultant was telling me you should order a dress over a year in advance but def not less than 9 months. She said it can take 3-6 months just to manufacture and then factor in alterations and any imperfections that may cause dress to have to go back. I will have my first fitting in July and a final fitting in September.

October 20, 2012 Dreams Palm Beach WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!

I am SOOOO glad I found this forum!!! I can FINALLY stop feeling like no one can understand my situation. I already feel like I have a new set of girlfriends. LOL Big3n09 - I think I may actually have you beat... Heck, I may be the 1st one ya'll have actually pity on LMBO I am 32 (no children), FI is 29 AND has 4 kids - 8 (girl), 6 (boy), 4 (girl), 3 (boy). WHEW!!!! We have been together for almost 3 years and I've been in the childrens' lives for 2. The ex-wife (yes, only 1 mother) and FI absolutely DESPISE each other (yet found it in their hearts to 'dip back' - but that's another forum) so it has not made life easy. He gets the kids every other weekend which I personally feel isn't enough time to truly bond with them. Not that we have problems at all. I love them to death and they have definitely taken to me but I'm kind of afraid of how the relationship will progress. With them being so young, not spending a great deal of time with them and their mother soooo not being a part of the blended family team, it gets hard. We still haven't told them that we're getting married because we are stealing ourselves for the wrath of the ex. And with them being so little really not sure if most of them will understand. We've also decided to just do a symbolic ceremony in DR and get legally married in states so the children can attend ceremony. Just can't imagine the hell we would have to go through to get her to sign off on taking them out of the country - particularly for this reason. Sorry to basically vomit all over the forum, but it's hard to express these feelings to him without him feeling bad or guilty. And it's equally hard to express it to friends and family because although they all love him I can't help but feel they still harbor some of the initial feelings of 'what is she thinking' when they found out about ex and kids. Am I overreacting to the whole situation?

Question to all the brides who have already married (or visited) DPB: Are the restaurants air-conditioned? I've recently come across a few reviews that say there is no A/C in any of the restaurants!!! At first, I thought no way this is a luxury resort in a year-round tropical climate... but, there several reviews from different ppl at different times. (My 2nd thought was maybe A/C was out for a couple of days at resort). Can someone PLEASE shed some light on this as FI is NO WAY getting married anywhere that does not have central air (or at least some kind of blowers).

Enerlise - So funny! We booked HDC and DJ Mannia as well! After putting all the pricing together we decided to book Mannia separately. Mannia's pricing is a bit better (price for 4 hours equals 3 from hotel) but once you add in resort fee it is almost same as booking through hotel. The determining factor for us was hearing what other brides were saying on this site. We put the numbers on paper and saw that if we took the free package and did the add-ons ourselves we came out better that our original package (Dreams of Love). And since we are bringing A LOT of our own stuff from home (and booking outside vendors - HDC, Mannia and Floral), it just made more sense.

We will be married at Dreams Palm Beach, in Punta Cana, on October 20, 2012!!!! Ceremony, reception, DJ and photographer booked and STDs are out... Now to decide - message in a bottle, boarding pass or 'treasure chest' invite? Or is anyone else doing something unique and special?

I'm using mywedding.com. It has an easy template that you can set up and it gives you the option to blog and add on as many pages and pictures as you'd like. I'm not super tech-savvy so it was great for me to find something that I didn't have to do too much with. And it's absolutely FREE!!!

OMG! You're my 'bride twin'. LOL We are getting married October 20th at Dreams Palm Beach!!! Let me tell you, it is def a better choice. I agonized over the 2 for 4 weeks before going with Palm Beach. It is closer to the airport, is newer and has some recent renovations and is a bit smaller so easier to keep up with guests. As far as restaurants go, they still have a good variety and if you're doing a welcome/rehearsal dinner and having reception you've already taken up 2 days of dinner so anymore than 4-5 options will be too many (and there's always room service).

I would love to get together with some other Tampa Bay brides and share ideas. Count me in!

OMG!!! I'm sooo overwhelmed.... I just decided last week to book with Dreams for our October 2012 wedding (despite the mixed reviews that I've seen). I figure no one will ever be happy with EVERYTHING so...... Besides, it's paradise - how bad could your wedding suck? LOL However, this weekend I had this complete feeling of dread that I picked the wrong resort. Part of this is b/c I can NOT believe that I'm booking the BIGGEST day of my life at a place sight unseen. So I am so very appreciative of all the feedback, photos, reviews, etc that all of you ladies have provided. Now, I see that NOW LARIMAR has shared privileges I wonder if should book at NOW and guests can use some of the facilities at Dreams? Or give guests either option, depending on price? Does anyone know how the exchange between the two resorts would work?

Hey Futures Mrs..... I have just confirmed by wedding at Dreams Punta Cana October 20, 2012 and all of a sudden I CAN'T BREATHE!!!! LOL I feel like (and others keep saying) you have plenty of time to get everything together, but I keep seeing brides on here that are WAAAAAYYYY ahead of me for 2013 weddings. I am starting to gather all the ideas for the wedding but haven't started purchasing anything. Am I running behind? I'm pretty organized but can also tend to 'sweat the small stuff'. Please let me know that I'm not crazy and there are other October 2012 brides in the same position.....
