  1. Angela: Thank you SOO much for your info! How was the food there? If we don't go off the resort, we'll probably go to the steak house because it's open air and next to the beach so I thought it would be nice to have it there. When was your wedding? Ie. what month? I've never been to Jamaica so am not sure about the weather all year round, we'll be there in April - is it super humid in April (does anyone know?)? I'll check the weather sites as well I hadn't considered changing into something for the disco, but if it's that hot I might have to! Plus it might be neat to get another dress! lol I'll probably be emailing you as well with more questions! thanks again!
  2. Hi Topical Love! Well, that makes sense!! I did read about at least one girl with a free cocktail hour, free upgrade to the grand AND free nights! It was a tiered incentive plan. My TA had never heard of it, she followed up with the resort as did I and neither had any idea about any upgrades to the other resorts OR free cocktail hours, etc... SO, working it into the rate makes total sense!! And I wonder if the TA would have done that without her knowing? Either way, you make a good point... if I had known, a few extra dollars per person would have gone a long way! lol
  3. How tall are the table number holders? I'm in Toronto, m4e 3l8, what would shipping cost?
  4. Hi I'm interested in the signs and maybe CRINOLIN and bus cards if you have them? Are u I'm toronto
  5. Hi ladies! Any of my fellow Iberostar brides planning to have their wedding or any part of their wedding off-site? Would love to chat - we are now looking into the off-site option, my FI and I think it would be really nice to take our guests off the resort and enjoy some private time with everyone.
  6. Out of the heels? I don't think they will, I don't have them yet, but I tried on something similar at the store. Have you had trouble with them??? The flip flops are en route, the heels haven't been ordered yet.
  7. Hi ladies! So I'm glad I found this thread I too am a Jamaica 2012 bride, getting married on April 18th at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in MoBay. We are now looking at having the wedding off-site and I would be interested in hearing what others have to say about the planning process if you've opted to go that route. So far I've been in touch with Almarie at Tropical Weddings Jamaica, we have just begun the discussion so any tips/helpful info would be great! I have heard it's negotiable, but how negotiable? We think it might be nice to have the day off the resort and make it special for everyone, rather than stay on the resort. Still have it all booked with the resort just in case but I wanted to see how it compares, and so far, before negotiating anything, it looks like you get more for what you pay for by doing it off the resort. Anyhow, whatever info you've got, I want to hear it! thanks and happy planning!
  8. DO IT! If you've had a look at some great ttd pics, it looks like so much fun and you can get some very amazing pictures. I'm definitely going to do it, i think they'll be my favorite pics
  9. These are mine, I'll be barefoot for the ceremony, wearing the heels for the start of the reception and i'll finish with the flippy floppys
  10. Hey Tori, there are always lots for sale in the "for sale" forum, plus I've seen "sash sharing" threads so you should check there as well. Otherwise, don't know about ordering online/shipping. Ebay might be a decent place to check. I think navy might be tough to find? I've seen a lot of fuchsia, orange, turquoise
  11. Hmm... that's strange, how would you get moved into a restaurant if it rains that day? I would think there would be restaurant bookings, wedding, rehearsal dinner or other welcome party already booked.
  12. Hi Jenna, Welcome! So for vendors, I haven't started on flowers yet and think I still have time, some of the brides have already reached out to Tai flora, which is the florist that the Iberostar works with and have experienced some difficulty with communication but sounds like that may be back on track. Otherwise, the restaurant and other resort details you will confirm with the resort much closer to the date. Have you secured the date with the resort? For a photographer, there are several local photographers (Misha Earle, Digipix, Sungold, Dwane Watkins, to name a few), google them and reach out to them for pricing and availability. I put together a spreadsheet comparing cost/packages/quality of work and am bringing my own so you always have that option if there's a photographer who's work you love and is local to you. As far as other vendors go, if you want to book a band, dj, etc... you can book through the resort and I believe you can book closer to the date as well. If you' re interested in other vendors, you should probably start your search now so you can book who you want The resort also offers hair/makeup but again you can book your own. For all vendors not booked (offered) through the resort wedding packages there will be vendor fees, you'll need to check with the WC for $amounts. Hopefully that helps! In short, I don't think it's too soon, nor do I think you're too late
  13. Hi ladies, question for all the past/current Beach brides - were you or are you getting a free upgrade to a room at the Suites or Grand? I ask because I've read several posts by other brides about free upgrades (negotiated BEFORE departure, not at the time of check-in) as well as other "incentives" or perks such as a free cocktail hour, etc. Upon asking the resort, they have responded that they DO NOT offer such incentives. So... before I follow up again, just wanted to check with fellow brides, I would love a free upgrade if it's typically offered Thank you!
  14. OMG... what a sweet story, that brought tears to my eyes. That was really nice of her husband to plan!
  15. So i have to ask... what are you making?!
  16. Hey Tori, not sure what kind of shells you're looking for but have seen shells at the dollar store and winners!
  17. Google Badgely mischka isabel, so far i've seen them in taupe, rose and black. I think they were on sale at endless.com and maybe heels.com? Good luck!!
  18. Oh I wish! No... found them online in various shops but the heels are NOT on sale yet! Not in my size anyhow! I did find the flip flops on sale in a few different shops so i'll be ordering those. I really want a fuchsia colored shoe and this is perfect with the feathery look!
  19. I love the starfish! I'll be using them for place cards but will leave them as is, I love that you coordinated Where did you get your starfish? I bought some off of another bride and she was very kind enough to pick up some extras at a shop in the US. Can't wait to get them! They're fake too which is perfect!
  20. Hi girls! Need your help, what do you think of these for wedding shoes (I'll be using both of course!)
  21. Beyond the rack is having a shoe sale right now! Badgley Mischka shoes!!!!
