  1. Thanks Lesee, the only problem is the Hotel gives you unlimited functions if you book through them directly and meet a certain quota..So I am forced to go through them if I want the freebies...
  2. Hi All, I have been trying to think of a great way to thank my Bridesmaids and MOH's for flying out and being apart of my wedding day. I was thinking of having a photoshoot done on the beach or at the spa on the morning of the wedding with all the girls, maybe some not so much boudoir but sexy photos of each girl separately and then all of us together since how often do you get all of your BFF's together. And then they can purchase an entire album if they want or just a few photos and I will definitely get some of the photos for each girl to keep. Thoughts on this? has anyone done this? I was thinking maybe get bathing suits that said something cute on the butt for the pics or bridesmaid/bride stuff....any suggestions greatly appreciated! Thanks, Brit P.S. I am getting married at the Hard Rock in Dominican Republic! I think this will make a great backdrop for these type of photos!
  3. Thanks for all the info! I am looking into doing the La Barcaza for a snorkeling trip for my guests. Has anyone snorkeled with them?
  4. Denise, Thanks for sharing your pictures! They came out great! I love the one with all the feet in the sand (and I hate feet)
  5. I'd love the ebay link! Also ladies check out milanoo.com. Great jewelry sets for under 30 bucks!
  6. Yea i love the stuff but I'm already paying for the girls dresses....i need to find jewelry that is better priced!
  7. Do any Hard Rock brides have pics from their wedding? i want to hear about how HDC photography was. I was checking them out on facebook (their page is huellas del caribe) and I thought they looked amazing. just wanted some first hand info
  8. Check out huellas del caribe on facebook, or hdcphoto.com! I am using them for my wedding and they look amazing good luck!
  9. Deniz, I am getting married there in December! I'd love to hear your reviews when you get back! <3 How has planning been?
  10. Thanks for all the info! I am staying at the Hard Rock and trying to determine when to plan the snorkel trip for. Does anyone know how far the La Barcaza is from that area? Also trying to decide whether or not to pay for it for my guests. I am hoping that I can the unlimited functions at my resport by meeting the minimum rooms number and then hopefully I can spring for paying for everyone. We are also trying to do a dinner on the beach as a welcome dinner with entertainment...Can't decide if I'd rather mak ethe dinner a little less entertaining and go for a fun day snorkeling or if my guests would prefer to stay on ground and get flamenco lessons and music at the dinner on the beach...thoughts?
  11. The other day my bridesmaid called me and told me she got a better rate through her travel agent than I got from the Hotel under the wedding contract. Needless to say I was livid. I am still in negotiations with the hotel but I told them I am having almost 60 people if not more travelling there and it seems absurd to me that they can't match what a travel agent can quote! I mean shouldn't the hotel be able to give you the lowest deal? Getting married at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana.
  12. I still can't find the Airtran flights, but jet blue looks to be about the same prices as Continental.
  13. Thanks everyone for sharing their pics! I am using HDC too! They are the photographer for the Hard Rock! So excited now!
  14. wait why do you have to claim them if you don't live in the DR and it is just part of your luggage?? Also, how much does this cost to claim it?
  15. I am having the same problem. Getting marrired in December in Punta Cana and I booked in January and got first class tickets for under 600 from Newark, NJ. Now the prices are over 600 for regular flights and alot of my guests still haven't booked. I was able to get a 5% discount from American Airlines, but I had no luck with any other airlines. Any one else have suggestions. I found that the group rate deal with continental didn't actually lock in the rate, so I would just be careful when you sign a contract with them. They said it is just the average price that all your guests will pay that they guarantee you, so they block the seats but the price is not discounted. I was shocked when I found this out...so be careful that you speak to an agent when you do the contract and ask all those questions, I didn't want to lock in an amount only to find out that all of my guests may pay 900...
  16. Congrats on the wedding! I am getting married there in december and was able to find people who were willing to help me plan earlier at the Hard Rock! If you contact the planners directly they will respond pretty quickly. My wedding planner at the HR only takes a few hours to get back to me. Shes fabulous!
  17. They do allow you to bring in your own Pastor/officiant. And you can probably use outside vendors but you do have to pay for them to come into hotel which I believe is $88 a day for a guest pass. Our Priest is flying down with us and staying at the hotel so we are able to use him for the ceremony. Hope that helps! You can use the 1500 towards the wedding packages, not sure if you can use it towards the photography though, probably only the part that is included in the packages.
  18. OO i saw these and was wondering how they were in person! good to know
