  1. Is it December 2011 yet??? User Name: Jacki7896 Name: Jacki and Ryan Location: Moon Dance Cliffs, Negril Wedding: December 10, 2011 In JA: December 6, 2011 until December 12, 2011.... then off to Thailand for the honeymoon.
  2. Any December 2011 brides out there? I have been engaged since August 2010, and the wedding just seems so far away... but since I am the world's biggest procrastinator, I guess it is good I have a very long engagement. Anyway, to kick my butt into gear, I wanted to see how the other Dec 2011 brides are doing and how far along they are in the planning process... My details so far.... Moon Dance Cliffs (Negril): Dec 10, 2011. I have booked one of the associates from Sungold as a photographer. I have no ideas about anything else. I am amazed at the creativity of the brides on this forum.... so keep the pictures and ideas coming! Happy Planning! Jacki
  3. Meitra-- I see you are in Austin. Me too! When is your wedding?
  4. Excellent post... I look forward to hearing what brides would do again, or what they would have skipped, etc.
  5. Ajamieso...... Definitely look into Moon Dance Cliffs. We are doing a resort takeover (which I think if all rooms are booked with 2 people, is 66 guests), and the entire wedding reception (food, drink) is complimentary. THe food looks really good too! We are worried about having more than the 66 people, but they said that for every guest on-site, you can have another guest that is off-site. They charge a fee for the off-site guests, obviously, for the food/drink. I think if you do a resort takeover, you can have even more total guests than the 1:1 ration. But I definitely think you can do 100 guests there. You will just have to pay a fee for those that dont stay on site. My wedding isnt until December 10, 2011... but all of the reviews of MDC sound so amazing.... I wish I had booked it sooner! Still over a year to wait!
  6. Thanks Mallory for the info! That is a relief. I wonder why they are doing the tent thing. Strange. I havent heard from Kerry lately (but my wedding is so far away yet... Dec 2011), but I am starting to think about rehearsal dinner, etc type issues. Are any of you doing the rehearsal at MDC? I would like to do so since we are paying all-inclusive, but do we have to pay for chairs and tables and all that stuff again (like for the reception). I know other brides on the forum ended up doing the rehearsal somewhere else for a bit of variety, but I was just wondering if it would be more cost effective to still do it at MDC. If anyone has done so or is planning to do so, let me know. Thanks!
  7. I saw that as well; but Kerry didnt put it in any contract (I dont think; I need to double-check), so I am going to fight against it. I dont even understand where the tent would go....
  8. Awesome, thanks! That will help a lot. I really dont want to lug around glass vases!
  9. So Kerry told me she is busy getting ready for the October 2010 weddings... Is anyone on this forum one of those brides? If so, hope you can post pictures to provide inspiration for the rest of us! I am at a loss of how to set up everything for the reception. Â Also, has anyone done the rehearsal dinner at MDC? If so, how did you make it differant from the wedding reception dinner? Â

    Help me!

I booked Moon Dance Cliffs in Negril, Jamaica. Your guests can choose between an all-inclusive option or just a European plan. Flights to Jamaica are cheap, I have guests coming from all over the country, and so far it is looking like flights under $300 per person. Another good thing.... your Dec 2 wedding date is before the high tourism season (I am getting married there Dec 10, 2011). Plus the people at Moon Dance Cliffs are BEYOND accommodating. The wedding coordinator there Kerry is super friendly, wants to give you the exact wedding you want within your budget. ANother good thing about MDC is that if your guests decide their particular resort is too expensive, MDC still allows non-hotel guests to attend the wedding/reception. Anyway, search Moon Dance Cliffs on this forum, and you will see the great reviews.... I am beyond excited! Good luck and happy planning!
  11. I am doing the AI plan for the 3 days of the wedding festivities; but I think some of my guests are booking the european plan for before/after the official wedding booking. I think with the AI, its easier for the wedding because you dont have to worry about bar costs, etc. Â I am still waiting to see the new menu from the new chef... anyone here anything yet?
  12. Where do you find acrylic vases? Â Also, any Moon Dance Cliffs (Negril) brides on this thread? Any suggestions on what works best with the venue?Cli
  13. Do people do cascading bouquets anymore? I havent really seen any pictures of any, but I always like the looks of them.
  14. I would like to book a steel drum band for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I am getting married at Moon Dance Cliffs. They said their "steel drum band" was one steel drum, one bass player, and one drummer. I would rather have multiple steel drummers. Does anyone know the names of the groups you used? Thanks!
  15. So many questions as I begin the planning process! I will go back and research the thread, BUT for those of you recently married at Moon Dance Cliffs, what photographer did you use? I loved Saab Photography, and then I got his price list. I am hoping to find something a bit less expensive. Â Thanks in advance for any input! Â Jacki
  16. Brand new to the post... wedding booked for December 10, 2011. So far Kerry has been great; but it was nice to see recommendations for other vendors (like the DJ). Â Did anyone use a steel drum band during their wedding? If so, any recommendations? Â Also, for those that have had the wedding there, if you do not order the round tables, are you still charged for the rectangle tables? Â Finally... and sorry for all the questions but the planning is just beginning.... if you do your rehearsal dinner on-site, do you know whether the restaurant does anything special or charges anything else, or is is just part of the all-inclusive option? We are doing a resort takeover, so the only people in the hotel for the 3 days will be our wedding guests. Â AND for those that want to send me pictures, I would LOVE to see some since I cannot view them through the forum yet. Â Thanks!
