  1. Francine, Your OOT bags look great and it looks like everything should fit perfectly but not be overwhelming. The only props aside from lingerie, sexy shoes and some of his clothing that I used were a champagne flute, my wedding flowers and veil. Monica, we have local photographers attending our wedding, but they are paying for their own vacation. I don't think I would have paid for them to go on top of the cost of photography.
  2. Erin, if you have an actual contract with her that is horrible. Especially since she is also getting a vacation.
  3. Erin - that's not so great. But I guess it works out that you need to find a new date for both reasons. Is your photographer just doing it as a favor? That's strange that she would try to reschedule for another wedding. My FI is the same way with it's on my list excuses. He is complaining to me about not having his taxes done when I told him last March that he needed to change his address with the gov't and get tuition receipts before I could complete his taxes. I am still waiting for both. And now the people at work are telling him that he will have to pay a penalty so he is all worried. Of course, he doesn't believe me when I tell him there's no penalty if they owe you, it's only if you owe extra taxes. Plus, it's my fault he doesn't know where his income receipts are. I told him to find everything and get it all together. And not the night before I get home!
  4. Meggers - sorry to hear about your FI's aunt. And also about all his loss. I hope you find a wonderful way to honour all the people that have helped your FI become the wonderful man that he is to you.
  5. Lisa, I think it is sufficient to just include you grandmother and FMIL. Like you said, she's not with your dad anymore. Otherwise, you will have to start including more and more people.
  6. Just remember, it's not only the crazy shipping fees. You'll probably get slapped with a customs charge too. I've gotten two customs broker bills in the last month, and even though the actual taxes weren't high, each company (UPS and TNT) charged at least $15 for processing.
  7. Lisa, now that I see the small fold with the menu and card, I prefer it. Maybe you can have a few reserved signs for the special guests? Tris, I hope your sister sends the pictures today so we can all see the. I think I've dropped weight with being stressed. But it could also be that I am eating less. FI always wants to have full meal with meat, veggies and side and even though it is way too much for me and more than I need, I usually eat it all. So now that I just have to feed me, I'm back to smaller portions. Welcome back Bailey. I'm not sure what to get our parents. I will probably wait until we get or pictures back and make them albums which we can hopefully present at AHR.
  8. Lisa - I like the white but it's nice to tie in the green. I think the larger napkin fold works better for the size of the place cards with the starfish. We're doing a buffet too and I was wondering how to put out the menu. I was thinking of just making cards for each of the dishes, but I'm also getting to the point that I have to stop finding more to include.
  9. Michele - originally I was ready to spend the money on a steamer so that everyone could steam their dresses. But now I am realizing that I do not want to spend unnecessary time in our room steaming my dress, so I will just send it with the resort to be steamed.
  10. I have 20 key card holders with black adjustable lanyards for sale. They are water resistant and have a clip closure. Your guests will love having lots of space to store tip money and room key. You can add a label for branding or privacy.
  11. I had to place a minimum order for 12 of these wristlets which I used to make the mothers corsages. I used 4, so I have 8 available. You can either glue flowers to the plastic disc, or use the ribbon to tie them onto the wristlet. They are elastic so they will fit pretty much everyone. They are also a great option for covering the resort wristbands.
  12. I had seen these on Etsy and figured that they were really cute and something I could make for a fraction of the cost. So here are my results and instructions. I purchases black acrylic paint, white pearlized acrylic paint, crackle medium, two wooden plaques and foam brushes from Michaels. I painted both plaques with the black paint and allowed to dry. I then painted a thick coat of the crackle medium over the black paint and allowed to dry over night. The thicker the crackle, the deeper the cracks. The pearlized paint was semi transparent so I decided to do two coats. I still wasn't happy with the look, so I added a third coat, and then used a wet foam brush to add some black into the cracks. Eventually , I was pleased with the background. I printed out the words "Bride" and "Groom" onto regular paper to fit the plaques. I used a pen to trace the outline of the words onto the plaques. This left an indentation in the paint that was barely visible. Finally, I used a very fine paint brush to paint the words onto the plaques. I plan on using the same technique to decorate a wooden treasure chest for our ring bearer.
  13. Laura - yes, that is definitely something that will be perfect for your website. Brandy - the BM gifts look great, especially the embroidery. Meggers - I totally feel for you. Before Christmas I had a bunch of stuff shipped to my sister in Virginia and it saved a ton. I've only had three other things delivered to our house, the card holders and my two dresses. FI had to pay the customs charges for the car holders which was more than shipping, and my second dress was shipped by courier, so a month later I got a customs bill for that too. blondy- she only took stress leave because she didn't like her boss and knew it was an option. She went right back to work after the wedding, once she found a new job. I've worked a minimum of 70 hours a week for 10 months out the year, away from home. For the first six months of the year, I only had four days off! I know what stress feels like.
  14. As far as etiquette goes, you are never supposed to put any registry info on the invites, except for the shower. So I advise against it, another one of those things that as people contact you or your family to RSVP or ask registry info you can just mention that you haven't registered because you really have most everything but are saving for a home? But can I also suggest creating a small registry? I know I hate giving just a cheque and like to include a gift.
  15. Laura, that sounds like the perfect wording. And a great price for the invites with envelopes. Just one comment because it is something I know I would run into, maybe have a phone number for RSVP as well.
  16. I know! It's so exciting to look at the calendar and realize that it is the last full month before our weddings! One of my friends planned her wedding while she was off work on stress leave, I am so jealous. I could totally use this whole month off to get organized!
  17. Crazy stuff but I can't open the attachment... and I am well over the posting requirement.
  18. I think I will probably order the nine west ones and then decide. I'll probably wear them at some point through the week? I think the fuchsia ones go better with my reception dress.
  19. Does anyone have the form to request a site visit? Thanks, it would be much appreciated.
  20. The nine west ones haven't been released in Canada yet, so I guess I will have to make a U.S. trip once I get back home. I had already planned on it anyways. I was just worried that these would be too colourful, especially since I have my fuchsia crinoline too.
