  5. Congrats! Â We just confirmed our ceremony as well, Nov. 18, 2011 in Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. Â I can't wait for the time to fly by. So much to do, but I just can't wait to get to CR and spend a great vacation with our friends and family.
  6. Shoes are very cute Where did you get them from? I am hoping to get aqua shoes.
  7. I have templates for the passports, but they are in In Design (Adobe program). If you search passport templates on this forum, you will find a tonne. Â Not sure what I am mailing them in yet. We didn't order the boxes with the bottles, because they don't have room for the additional stuff I am sending, passports and boarding passes.

  10. Newly booked November 2011 bride. We are getting married Nov. 18, 2011 in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica We tried for 11/11/11, but the villa we want was already booked. Wasn't a big deal, just thought it would be neat so we went with the next week.
  11. We are getting married in November, which is end of the wet season/beginning of dry season. We didn't want to wait too long, and prices tend to go up after November and go back down around April. So we picked November and are hoping to have good weather. Long before we were engaged but decided on a DW, we had always said Costa RIca because it is a place we both want to go to and has a lot of activities that suit us. When we finally got engaged (after seven and a half years), CR was out, because my sister, who just got married in April, and her new husband honeymooned there. And my sister and her husband are very much about themselves, especially him, so we didn't want to go there for our wedding and have him make it all about himself. So it was out of the running. But then we had a hard time agreeing on any other location. If I picked one he would find a reason to not like it and vice versa. So finally, one day we were out for a drive and he said, why don't we just go to Costa Rica, it's where we originally wanted to go and let's not let them ruin that. So Costa Rica was selected. Then we decided, since they went to Guancaste, we would just go to another area. We came across escape villas and fell in love withe Casa de las Brisas and after much thought, decided to book it. I am so excited and can't wait to move forward with our plans.
  12. We are going through the opposite. My FI's parents keep coming up one excuse after another as to why they will not come and it is so frustrating. It hasn't ended well. We are no longer talking, but I still plan to send them an invite as sort of a last effort. The way we see it is, it's our wedding we get to call the shots. Since they aren't contributing financially, they don't get a say. Before we got engaged, his mom always tlaked about how people were crazy to have big traditional weddings because they cost so much bla bla bla. Now the we are actually doing a DW, it's the opposite. They have complained about cost, where we have decided to go, the activities we want to partake in, the people coming, the people not coming ... We have had enough. Sorry to steal your rant! But I know exactly how you feel.
  13. Congrats Sallee  We have also just booked our Costa Rica DW. We are staying at Casa de las Brisas in Manuel Antonio (a nine bedroom villa that looks amazing) for the first week with friends and family, then we will be moving on to another part of CR for the second week. Haven't decided where yet. We are just getting started on the wedding planning, but have a confirmed date and an officiant so far.  so excited to continue the plans.  Amanda
  14. Congrats Amy, and welcome to the forum  I am in the midst of planning a November 2011 wedding in Costa Rica. We have booked an all-inclusive villa in Manuel Antonio, in the Central Pacific side of Costa Rica. We wanted to avoid the touristy part of Costa Rica and enjoy the natural side. We are both really into the outdoors and this area seemed to suit our needs, although I am sure Guancaste is also a beautiful area. My sister and her husband honeymooned at the Riu resort there and loved it. Good luck and happy planning. You will find a ton of info here. Amanda
  15. What time of year are you talking about? We are getting married in November 2011, and I am interested in knowing what time would be best to have the ceremony.
  16. Hi Tippytetote  We are getting married in Manuel Antonio next November. I was wondering if you had any luck with the chair rentals? Also, where did you get a cake from? We also do not want to hire a wedding coordinator because of the extra cost. Â
