  1. Nmurch, I'm so sorry to hear that! But if you're near a Whole Foods Market purchase some Raw Honey. My company sells raw honey (you do not have to buy our brand- Wholesome Sweeteners- because it is very expensive). But start applying it now..every chance you get. I know for a fact that it works because my intern was in a bad motorcycle accident and he burned a lot of his skin. He started using the honey, and the burns HONESTLY looked better within 5-6 days. Were they completely healed, no..but they looked a lot better. Also, trust your photographer. He'll definitely be able to photoshop the burn. No worries there. I hope this helps!
  2. Congratulations Annabanana! When is your wedding? I really like the starfish necklace!
  3. Hi ladies, I'm just curious, will the wedding license you get in Mexico not suffice? I am getting married in Turks & Caicos, and I've talked to a few brides who were married there. Basically, you use your license from Turks (you leave the island with one and they mail another) and get your name driver's license, social security, etc. changed and no one really gives you any problems-- as long as it is legible. Is there a different rule with licenses from Mexico?
  4. IslandBride8, I have to be honest and say that 1) I've purchased items from four brides on here, and to be honest- I really got great deals from all four! 2) I purchased my TTD from someone on the forum because I was truly tired of looking in the stores and online (so maybe I'd just gotten lazy). So once I saw that she wore the exact same size as me- and was selling it for much of nothing, I figured that it was meant to be. There are really some people on here who are not trying to break even...and with that said, you may not always find a great bargain on this site either. Regardless, if you feel someone is not being fair, do like you'd do in the store--and not purchase from them.
  5. She's on vacation until the beginning of the year. It's a lady I've been working with named Amoy who works in the same office. Monica told me to contact her between now and January 4th.
  6. Wow! You guys got great gifts! My FI and I haven't given each other gifts in years. Mostly because we do so much for each other throughout the year. However, we did adopt an entire family for Christmas. We provided them (three kids and the mother) with 21 gifts! It was truly a joy to help someone else.
  7. Just curious...has anyone checked into getting your dress steamed once you get to the resort? I purchased a garment bag for mine over the weekend at Mens Wearhouse, but of course it's not as long as my wedding gown...so I will have to get the bottom portion steamed once I get there..
  8. Hi Tennyt1, I can definitely send you the letter, and you can tweak it and change as much you'd like. Do you have Adobe InDesign? That's what I designed it in.
  9. Hi CBrewster, I have the Virgin Indian hair. So far so good. Supposedly it's reusable (as long as it's taken care of) for over a year. My stylist has had hers for a year. I will give you an update when I have it taken down and put up again before the wedding (in 10 weeks). Here's a pic of the hair I have.
  10. I agree with JB321.... Breathe AlexsBride...seriously. Everything will fall into place. And the reality is, what you think you may have messed up on or forgot to do- none of the guest will ever notice.
  11. Hi Ladies, I've finished my pre-travel newsletter that I will be mailing at the beginning of February. I hope that my guests like it. It is sweet and simple. Newsletter2.pdf

  13. Thanks Bran! I still have some tweaking to do, but it'll pretty much look the same...but correct mispellings and a few other things.
  14. Hi Ladies, After work today I started fooling around with my pre-travel letter that I will be sending to guests in early February. I need to tweak it some more, but I wanted to show you all first. I've tried to submit it as a picture for those who don't have enough points, but it won't let me....anyway, I can email it to anyone who wants to see it. Newsletter.pdf
  15. Oh okay. I need to go ahead and reserve the standard video myself. I haven't given it much thought lately.
  16. Hi Michelle, I spoke with Amoy (someone in Miami who works with all of the documents)...she said that the stamp was fine. Apparently, A LOT of states no longer use the raised seal. Be sure to notarize EVERYTHING that you send. Originally I was told that only the affidavit needed to be notarized. I sent everything via UPS yesterday and they should receive it tomorrow. How's your planning?
  17. WooHoo Kimberly! That is literally aruond the corner (20 days to be exact)! Wow..it really seems like we're having the exact time of events--intimate wedding and HUGE celebration once we return. May I ask what did you decide to order through your travel agent?
  18. Hey girls...I'm still working with my sew-in. Trying to get as used to it as I can so I can be prepared for Turks & Caicos...Anyway, here's a pic. I styled it myself..unbelievably..
  19. Hi Tennyt1 (we haven't chatted in awhile!) and pat291, I saw mzgillis316 wedding pics and here they are...I hope she doesn't mind me posting them. http://vidacarson.com/blog/weddings/shalon-and-darwins-riviera-maya-destination-wedding/ Once you click on the site, scroll down and you'll see the other pics.
  20. Does anyone know what the "commemorative gift" is that the resort gives you if you announce your wedding is at a Beaches Resort in your local newspaper or on your blog? Just curious...
