  1. Reminder......Please send your weigh-ins and pics today or tomorrow by noon Thank you!
  2. Without airfare (cause Feb 2012 rates aren't out yet) Per person: 3----$655 4---$861 5---$1067 6---$1274 7---$1480 I figure airfare will be between $350-$400...so...not super awful.... If only people would put a deposit down in the next 30 days...and then I won't be so freaked out over $$$
  3. Yeah...I really didn't have too much to do with them....I gave my friend at work the template that i found somewhere on this forum...and picked Purple...she did the rest We decided that we would punch a whole in the top and tie all 3 pages together with purple ribbon...then hopefully find some blue paper (like the blue color that says Boarding Pass) and make the the slot-ish envelopes. It's the cutting and perforating part that's really going to confuse me....but luckily..my friend will help.... She's going to get me through the first few...and then I'll let FI help so that he feels a part of things too
  4. I'm feeling aq little accomplished today...got my group agreement back from from my TA and sent out the 2nd round of STD (this one an email) with the info to book now.... Really Really hoping people put a deposit downbefore I have to pay for all deposits...but I can't worry about that..... And...was working on my invitations today (boss is out sick)....and my friend at work is pretty good at Computer stuff (I am not so much) so we were working on my Boarding Pass Invites. I know I have some time....as I won't be sending them out until August...but because I am so very bad at DIY...I figured I would need the 8 months head start This is what I have so far.....

  6. Week 3 Recipe:: Course: soups PointsPlusâ„¢ Value: 1 Servings: 12 Preparation Time: 35 min Cooking Time: 13 min Level of Difficulty: Easy Some say this soup is the secret to their weight-loss success. It's a great midday snack or dinner appetizer. Ingredients 2 clove(s) garlic clove(s), minced (medium) 1 medium onion(s), diced 2 medium carrot(s), diced 1 medium sweet red pepper(s), diced 1 stalk(s) celery, diced (medium) 2 small zucchini, diced 2 cup(s) green cabbage, shredded 2 cup(s) Swiss chard, chopped 2 cup(s) cauliflower, small florets 2 cup(s) broccoli, small florets 2 tsp thyme, fresh, fresh, chopped 6 cup(s) vegetable broth 2 Tbsp parsley, or chives, fresh, chopped 1/2 tsp table salt, or to taste 1/4 tsp black pepper, or to taste 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice, optional Instructions Put garlic, vegetables, thyme and broth into a large soup pot. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low and simmer, partly covered, about 10 minutes. Stir in parsley or chives; season to taste with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Yields about 1 cup per serving. Notes If you like thick soups, consider pureeing this recipe in the pot with an immersion blender. There are so many variations on this recipe. Add or leave out vegetables to suit your taste. Save time by using frozen vegetables instead of fresh ones (though the texture of the soup might change a bit). You can also buy small amounts of pre-cut vegetables from your supermarket's salad bar.
  7. Week 3 Article: Afraid dinner out will ruin your diet before you even start your entrée? These 10 dos and don'ts will help. Some people trying to lose weight steer clear of restaurants to avoid the large portion sizes, bottomless bread baskets and all those high-calorie entries. But shunning restaurants altogether isn't a realistic approach to weight loss — and it's unnecessary. You can eat out and lose weight. Start with this list of tips to help you navigate the menu options at your favorite fast-food joints and sit-down restaurants. 1. Set a budget Determine how much you're willing to eat before looking at the menu. You can give yourself some leeway by scheduling some exercise on or near days you plan to eat out. Putting in gym time or going for a brisk walk will help offset a little extra eating. And remember, be flexible. You can loosen up a bit on special occasions, as long as you eat carefully most of the time. (Just don't let every day become a special occasion.) 2. Put on your game face Decide on some guidelines before you go to a restaurant, and stick to them. For instance: Skip the all-inclusive (prix fixe) menu and opt for à la carte selections. Doing so might not be as economical, but you'll probably eat less. Take one piece of bread, then ask your server to remove the breadbasket from the table. 3. Make special requests You're paying good money for that meal, so you're entitled to make special requests or slight modifications. Why not say: Can I have that without butter? Grilled? With the sauce on the side? I'd like mixed greens instead of fries with my sandwich. 4. Practice portion control Some restaurant portions can be two, three, even four times the "normal" size — especially super-sized fast food meals. Keep your portions in check by: Ordering a salad as a starter and then splitting a main entrée with a friend. Creating your own scaled-down meal from a couple of appetizers and/or side dishes. 5. Break down (language) barriers If you don't know what a preparation term means, ask. In general, though, the following words translate into high-fat, high-calorie dishes: Au gratin, scalloped, hollandaise. Parmigiana, scampi, Bolognese. 6. Downsize the super-size Super-sized fast food meal options can be loaded with calories. Either: Order something small, like a basic burger. After all, the first bite tastes the same as the last. Order yourself a children's meal. 7. Watch out for extras The average burger with ketchup, lettuce and tomato isn't so bad. But one with "the works" is usually a caloric nightmare. Skip: Bacon, cheese and mayonnaise. Double-burger patties and extra pieces of bread. 8. Don't go top heavy Salad bars and garden salads grace menus across the country. But those extra toppings can sabotage your seemingly diet-conscious choices: Go light on croutons, grated cheese and bacon. Opt for small amounts of low-fat or nonfat dressings on the side. 9. Don't drink away your progress A drink with dinner is fine, but too many margaritas may wreak havoc on your dieting resolve. Keep your appetite under control by: Alternating alcoholic beverages with noncaloric sodas or sparkling water. Not drinking alcoholic beverages on an empty stomach. 10. Resign from the "clean plate club" You paid for it so you have to eat it, right? Wrong. Just think of the health and emotional costs of those extra calories on your body. Downsize by: Eating half the meal and doggie-bagging the rest. Pushing your plate away when you're full. And remember to eat slowly. It takes 20 minutes for your body to recognize that it's full.
  8. Can someone please forward the templates to me? msmarmar123@gmail.com Thank you so much!

  14. For me, I'm happiest with AM as my official weigh-in time...I like knowing what I am 1st thing...anything after I eat freaks me out even if I know it's not reallty weight gain (like drinking a glass of water and weighing yourself rt after)...rationally..i know i didn't really gain...but I'm so fixated on those stupid #s...so the lower they are...the better it is (for me)
  15. Wedding is February 2012...that makes me feel better f that is a Peak time....i don't think my rates are so crazy expensive...but anywhere I can save myself or my guests $$$..I'm all about it. When are you getting married?
  16. Just a reminder that I need weigh-ins for tomrrow morning (or Staurday by noon). Thanx
  17. That's really cheap...are you sure? Mine is going to be about $640 for 3 nights...$860 for 4....$1480 for 7 nights.....per person...not counting airfare..which will prob be about $350 from Michigan (but because my wedding is sooooooo far away..airfare rates aren't available yet) I haven't signed my group agreement yet...but i'm also using dw.com if you could verify that's really the deal you are getting... i might be able to tell my ta and work out a better deal somehow? How many rooms did you reserve??? Basically...what is your group agreement???
  18. Good Job I so don't have the discipline or stamina or anything else to do anything like that... And this week is just sort of blah and I have zero energy to do any form of physical activity. I'mn eating pretty well though, and once this week passes...I should get out of this little funk and start moving...I'll need to start small trhough
  19. Need to vent for just a minute:: FI and I decided to do a group agreement...ultimately it will save us and our guests some $$...I talked to my sister last night to see if she wanted to me to put a family suite on hold..told her the price it would be if she booked and all of that...and she turned the whole conversation around to why would i be putting deposits down for the guests and i will only lose $$$. 2 seconds after getting off the phone with her...my mom calls...my sister had called my mom to freaking tell on me. My mom then tried to have a discussion about how I'd be losing $$$ by doing that. Do they think I'm not researching and planning and trying to do the best and easiest things for everyone???? Then...this morning my mom emails me about all of the crap going on in Mexico..... Don't Come! I am not forcing anyone to be there...I am more than ok if you can't/won't/don't want to be there (my sister didn't come to my 1st wedding...why should i be surprised/upset/angry) if she doesn't come to this one??? I'll be there...FI will be there...we will be safe and happy at a resort...not traipsing around downtown wherever looking for trouble.....I'm just annoyed!!!!!!
