  3. THE BENEFITS OF LOSING 5 PERCENT Losing just 5 percent of your body weight doesn't sound like much, but it could mean you're well on your way to dropping a dress size. Aside from looking better and feeling more energetic, there are significant health benefits, too. You can’t always see or feel them, but they are very important nonetheless. Breaking your weight loss journey into small steps of 5 percent-10 percent will help to keep you motivated. For most people 5 percent is enough to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Your weight-loss success may also mean that you help to lower your blood pressure. There are many other health benefits, too – research has shown that a loss of 5 percent–10 percent of your starting body weight can make a real difference. Health Benefits Lowers your body’s cholesterol levels Can improve blood sugar control Reduces aches and pains Improves mobility Can improve your breathing Helps you to sleep better Reduces the risk of sleep apnea Helps prevent angina – chest pain caused by decreased oxygen to the heart. Decreased your risk of sudden death from heart disease or stroke May stop the need from regular medication Reduces the risk of certain cancers Your emotional health will also benefit hugely. People who have lost 5 percent-10 percent of their body weight report improvements in quality of life, a noticeable reduction in depression symptoms, increased energy, plus a more positive attitude to life. Little by little When it comes to weight loss, some people are unduly hard on themselves. They feel that they won’t be truly happy until they have lost three or four times the amount necessary to start seeing a difference. The trick is to be realistic about your weight-loss goals and how long it will take to achieve them. Don’t discount the small losses you’ve accomplished either – they are very significant and should be used to spur you on. Trying to lose too much too quickly can undermine your efforts and actually work against you, and is more likely to result in your weight yo-yoing, which is detrimental to your progress. Breaking your weight-loss journey into small, manageable steps will help to keep you motivated. If you have a lot of weight to lose, reaching Goal may seem like a daunting task, but having a set of measurable targets will help you to stay on track and keep you focused. As you achieve each goal, it will give you that all-important momentum to increase your level of motivation still further to keep going and achieve your Goal weight. Pass the plateaus Use small goals to work past a plateau. When people become familiar with their food plan, it’s sometimes easy to develop a lax attitude. Refocus by setting small goals.

  6. It looks like plain white chairs it is (going to check out linentablecloth in a few...just in case)....now I'm one step closer to bringing my photographer murmel...you are so close...so excited for you...(and a little bit jealous)
  7. Quick question for everyone....does anyone have any pictures of just plain old chairs for the ceremony? Is everyone choosing chair covers and bows? I want them...but $9 per chair just seems crazy and like the hugest waste of almost $1000. Does anyone think the absence of chair covers and bows will take anything away awy or am I being stupid for choosing this to obsess about today???
  8. We have the Wii fitness..I just have to get off my ass and start using it. I refuse to do anything when Steve is home because i know how stupid i look (our Wii is right by a nice big mirror).
  9. Hey Tisha....I'm actually hosting this season...if you go back to the 1st page (i think the 2nd post) it lists all the rules. Weigh ins are on Friday (or Saturday by noon) and everyone is encouraged to post tips and recipes and helpful advice they have. Since we're both AS brides..I'm more than ok with you joining in late If you want to join the non-compete...send me an email to [email protected] with your weight (today hopfully) with a pic of the scale with the #s and your feet showing. Then next Friday (or Saturday by noon) send another pic of scale # and feet to that email and I'll post results by Sunday.

  14. I had never heard you could go above the 40 (and it was always 40 as far I know). In the past couple of weeks, all of what I thought I was doing has changed...now my (our) wedding is going to be more More people...and probably a private event now.... Working on a group agreement with my TA right now...which makes me super nervous to put the $$$ down..but only doing it for 10 rooms because I just can't afford to make deposits for anyone else. Don't know why...but all of a sudden a year does not seem like that much time...and I am a tiny bit wedding obsessed. If only I knew how much $$$ FH's family was contributing....but they need to see a budget and everything 1st..so..it's a crazy little cycle
  15. I know...heard from my WC again today...I was wrong about makeup prices....makeup is actually $168 but that includes a trial as well. And every spa treatement has the 10% surcharge. Because I'm part moron today...thats just salestax right???
  16. Just a reminder that I need your weigh-ins today (or tomorrow by noon). Hope everyone had a great week
  17. I just asked my WC today...it is $86 +10% surcharge for bridesmaids hair ($94.60). That seems like a lot...but I think I'll be doing that for my BMs...wanted to do hair and makeup for them...but think makeup is the same price and that just seems kind of ridiculous..
  18. pony:: my little pony (I know they're kinda the same thing..but i adored My Little Pony and it was the 1st thing I thought of)
  19. So worth it!!! You never know what might happen between now and then...they might get new promotions and specials....or if something happens and you have to cancel for. I hate wasting $$$ on anything I don't really need (wedding-wise) but I'm much more comfortable knowing I'm safe if anything crazy should happen
  20. Is it too late to join the Book Club? I just recently finished the Hunger Games books and loved them
  21. Question About Tipping...I know there is a whole etiquette section...but wondered if anyone could tell me what they did tip or what they are planning to tip? Are you supposed to tip the WC? Photographer? Trying to finalize budget and #s so FH can FINALLY ask his parents for $$$ and I want to be as close to what I /we will need as possible Thank you
