  1. I have tried Axxium and it was okay and did last the 2+ weeks well. However, I have found that the CND Shellac brand works better (for me) than the OPI Axxium. Axxium is too thick to me, like real gel, and I have a hard time believing it won't do damamge over time. CND Shellac is thin like regular polish and its been great! OPI takes forever to soak off and CND really does take 3 minutes. I hate to throw you a curve with only a few days but I did some internet research on both before and I am doing my trials now to see what look works best. So far my vote is for CND Shellac.
  2. I really like it! Whre did you get your real touch flowers from?
  3. Hey! Here did you order the Jamaican jerk seasoning?????
  4. MoBayBride2B, I have been trying to post all morning. Grrrr! My apologies as I am just now seeing your response about meeting up. The weekend is clearly behind us. Hate to be an inconvenience but is there another time/day we can meet. If not, no worries. Northern VA traffic is a bear and I understand if you aren't up to it. The books would just be an added bonus for my crew.
  5. Yes, May will be here before I know it. I'm ready to go! All and all planning has been cool. We invited over 50 people and we are expecting 20. We DID NOT want a large crowd and we are happy with the numbers. I live in Woodbridge. My mom is near B-more so I pass you in Laurel all the time! Please so let me know how this workout is. I forwarded it to my mom and BFF to get them on board!
  6. Pics look great! I'm glad I booked Marcia. Another question for you: Did you have to pay for the pass for the other people Marcia bought with her?
  7. I have been looking for a good Gospel mis to work out to. I don't work out regularly but when I do I would like to have some Gospel to listen to. I may try this out and get serious. Maybe not in time for my May wedding, but it should be a good investment. Thanks for posting. BTW, what part of MD are you in?
  8. I am walking down the aisle to Giving Myself by Jennifer Hudson.
  9. I placed a Mixbook order recently. I ordered a hard copy of my boudoir shoot and 2 soft copies of a family vacation. I honestly like the soft back copies better. I plan to use Mixbook for the wedding albus for our parents and will see how the hard cover holds up over the next few months. Stay tuned... Oh and thanks for the tippr offer! LOVE THESE!
  10. Yes I am still in. Just need to know where to meet you!
  11. I ordered from the place in China and I am very satisfied with the dress! I have my seamstress take it in some on the sides and I am READY TO GO TO JAMAICA!
  12. I'm thinking that the decision may be based on the number of guests @ the resort. I know May is almost completely sold out for rooms so it wouldn't likely be an option for me, even though I wasn't looking to do this. This is the only reason I can figure that this would be an issue.
  13. Speaking of Ipod, how did you manage the music for the ceremony? We only have a few songs to play but IDK how that's handled. Is it best on CD or Ipod?
  14. MRS SMITH! Welcome back and congrats to you and your HUBBY! (Does that shound weird?) Your review was great. Sorry to hear about the reception fiasco. I can imagine this being an issue since when the resort is fully booked. Did you use Rashel for make-up? You and your groom look great! Did you add fabric to the huppa? I know I have more questions but I can not think of them all right now. I'll be back...
  15. Yeah! Im still in. 30+25=55....that still leaves 35 for someone. Let me know when and where we can meet!
  16. I hadn't given it much thought but I think I will ask both sets of parents tonight and see what they perfer. I am leaning towards having them sit on their own.
  17. I'll take a about 25 off your hands. I'm in Fairfax. Please PM me if they are still available.
  18. I was just thinking of having the huppa with the white fabric they use and no flowers. I may pick up some additional colored fabric but I am not sure. I didn't want to get in the business of trying to pick out flowers for the huppa and blow my budget out of the water. I am doing OOT bags and having fun with it. Let's just say its about to get out of hand so I told my mom we are DONE after this weekend! I've enjoyed putting them together so far! I am just ready to roll!
  19. Tina, I emailed Tai Flora once to inquire about a bouquet I was interested in and the price they quoted was so outrageous, I went with real touch and haven't looked back. Nicole told me by email that I can use the credit from my bouquet towards corsages and boutnierres for family. I am not doing table arrangments since my party is so small. So basically, I don't feel like I need them for anything. When you said 8 weeks, it was like something knocked me upside the head! I feel like I'm all ready to go but I also have that feeling like I'm forgetting something.
  20. Chocolate brides, check out our girl Shalon in Essence magazine Bridal Bliss! I get the email each week and recognize this face this week! Go Shalon! http://photos.essence.com/galleries/bridal_bliss_shalon_and_darwin
  21. Tina5978, I am thinking about Aunt Ruby's but I am not sure. I like the menu options there but to be honest I haven't given it as much thought as I should. My party is small (20 including me and FI) and I want dinner to be like a regular dinner and not a huge reception-like event!
  22. My TA was able to get me rates last June for my May 2011 wedding. I did not do a room block and all my guest called her for months afterwards and were able to get rates. Yes, you do have to wait on airfare to be released and it differs by carrier I believe. I did work with more than on TA initally when I felt I wasn't getting what I needed so try that as well. Its yoru wedding and your guests...you deserve the best options possible.
  23. For the folks that are unable to get rates, are you working with a travel agent (TA)? That would make a huge difference. My TA was able to get me rates fairly early on, @least a year out. I remember having to wait on airfare but not the room rates. Get in touch with a good TA and they should be able to assist. Lizk23, I am sorry you aren't having a good Iberostar experience but the ratings and prior bride reviews leave me to believe they are a great option. Hope things get better for you or you find another venue for your special day.
