  1. Be sure you stay on top of the Groupon expiration dates. Mine expires June 26 so I am trying to find just the right pic for my announcements.
  2. I am working on my announcement, similar to the ones above on Mixbook.com. I have a Groupon that I have to use before teh 26th but I am waiting for additional pics from my photographer as well.
  3. I think it depends on several different factors. I sent the pics in and asked them to change the neckline of my dress and it actually came out better than what I had tried on. Then again, I had only tried on about 6 dresses. I was beyond pleased with my dress from Gianinar.
  4. daisymable, I know the lack of communication is frustrating but Nicole is on top of the details. I found it was better to just giving her a call near the end. I wanted to have a paper trail with emails but I will tell you she had everything right when we met. I believe that if you don't have to have anything imported, then it is okay to finalize/change details upon your arrival. With 27 days out, you have plenty of time, although I know it doesnt seem that way. Get all your stuff packed and ready to go and they will make it happen for your special day!
  5. I was told by Nicole that if someone was dropping off, no vendor fee would be charged.
  6. No, I had my stylist with me on the trip. She rolled my hair and the resort let me us the hooded dryers in the salon.
  7. Jamaica2012, It think that people leaned towards the other vendors based on poor ratings for Digipix, trouble finding pics of their previous work and the fact that the pics included with the package are very limited and they still charge an arm and a leg for additional shots. Once you do some research, you find that there are reputable photographers who can get the job done for reasonable prices and quality work.
  8. The only issue with mentioning an alternate is having more people lean towards the less expensive option and then comes the issue of paying the $30 pp to come over for the day of the wedding. Do you have a TA? I mentioned to her that some folks with kids would likely lean towards the Beach but I DID NOT want it to be a first option. I toyed with the idea of paying the $30pp fee but I only ended up having 1 guest there and he paid his own fee. Bottom line, I would not mention an alternate on the STD's. I would prefer to have personal convos with those it may affect and have my TA is the loop on what your intentions are.
  9. Thanks everyone! The wedding was truly a dream come true!
  10. 14 is a perfect group size. We ate together all the time and we managed an excursions as a group, which we loved. Everyone got to know each other well. As far as dinner, the semi-private area in Calabash is more than sufficient. I dont know if it was because we were "flying so high" that day, but we barely recognized the other people in the resteraunt. AND on top of that, the place wasn't packed. After dinner, we thought of going to the disco, but everyone did their own thing and me and hubby headed to the Grand.
  11. Are your invites already out? I only offered info on IRHS as the HOST resort and no other resorts. I was worried about people doing that as well, but no one tried it. My TA did price match other deals @ Iberostar but none others came up (that I know of). I was prepared to tell people if they chose to stay elsewhere, they would be paying the $100 fee but again, I didn't have to do so. It's so much better to have everyone at the same resort. I hope your group comes around and chooses to enjoy the Iberostar fun!
  12. Thank you Toni! I will do what I can! Heck, if I could I would "escort" each bride down with a drink in hand and shoulder massages on demand just so I could get back to Iberostar! LOL!
  13. Thank you! I was "Nervous Nelly" on and off before my departure and finally had to declare that I would not let it get to me. I drank some calming tee at work and had to check myself a couple of times. In the end, all that mattered was me and him and the beautiful mind-blowing love we share!
  14. CALM DOWN! First and foremost, know what you can and can not control. Your guests are the main folks you have no control over. I had suprised and let downs in terms of the guestlist along the way and in the end, I could not have had a better group. Those who are supposed to be there will be there. Iberostar is amazing and if they ready ONE bad review and back out then so be it. Youjust imagine yourself poolside and don't let that cloud your mind. My new role on this thread is to now encourage and push you all along the way. YOU WILL MAKE IT TO THE WEDDING OF YOUR DREAMS!
  15. Ladies, in Jamaica they say "no problems only situations." My wedding was so laid back it wasn't even funny but when I tell you it was PERFECT, I mean it. I do not remember what part of the song played at all. I walked out to "Giving Myself" by Jennifer Hudson. Once I locked eyes with my hubby, it was only me and him. My guest looked like the Wii characters, floating around! LOL! For all I know, they could have plaid a Mickey Mouse or Barney song! Lol! Oh and you give your CD to Nicole and she gives it to the DJ. Just have a note of what to play when. We had a CD with like 12 songs. Song #1 was to walk out to. Song #12 was to walk out to. Jazz in the middle to play for signing of documents, during champagne toast and while we took pics.
  16. Hey ladies! Here is a pic of my make-up by Rashel! She is a sweetheart and deserves every bit of the recognition she gets on here and Facebook. I enjoyed having her be a part of my day and making me feel like a queen! I have a couple more pics @ home and will post tonight!
  17. This is the standard cake and not an upgrade. I didn't bring the knife set. Never even thought of it actually. Im telling you, keep it simple! The setting @ Iberostar is enough and the small details will go unnoticed. I promised! The do a great job with everything there.
  18. They actually do feel pretty real. Its kinda hard to explain but they are some pretty amazing fakes!
  19. I had called Nicole before we left asking if it would be too late to make any flower requests once we got there. She said it would be no problem as long as I didn't request any flowers that needed to be imported. I knew I wanted something fairly simple. I confirmed what I wanted on tue evening and the flowers were there thurs morning in time for ther wedding. I am sure there is room for dancing if you rent the Calabash out. Then again, if you are having hundreds of people then obviously there may be an issue!
  20. This forum has driven me up a wall this morning trying to post pics so I will be working on it. I keep getting errors. I actually lost the reveiw 3 times today, luckily I had it in Word.
  21. Pics in! Again, I used Kelly M. from Watermeknot.com. She's a joy to work with! Highly recommend her!
  22. Ladies, I finally posted my review. I was bumped out so many times its ridiculous. I have more pics and will have to add them here. Enjoy and feel free to ask any questions.
  23. It depends on when you want your music to start. You wait at a side door until its your time to shine and have to walk down the sidewalk in front of aunt Ruby's and then step into the sand. I had my music start just before I got to the sand and it there was only enough time to plan a portion of the song. Keep in mind that your aisle is dependent upon how many guests you have. All and all, you say how long/short you want your walk to be. Make sense???
