I'm supposed to be heading to Truro to the bridal shop out there this weekend....fingers crossed this is the last time I have to go out trying on dresses! lol Keep me posted when you get your dress! Well thats a little better than lol At least it was personal choice not poor craftmanship - I was like ok I guess I'll be doing the write-off option LOL I will definitely keep you posted. I didn't even think about Truro for dress shopping. I'll keep that in mind if the dress scenario turns into a fiasco :-s lol
  3. Yikes - those are huge :-s Sorry I got duplicate pics too OMG lol Ok well you get more than an idea of the dress - Thanks for the instructions although I think I may have gone wrong somewhere lol

I do not think they make very much for what they do and a few bucks here and there really helps them. Happy planning! Thanks for such a great (and thorough) review. Congrats! Can't wait to see the pics :-)

Yesterday the aqua beach glass photo coasters and personalized lip balm came. Yeah the P90 is no joke lol I started it a few weeks back but decided to go back to Day 1 so that we can do it together. I joined started posted on the P90x support thread to - I figure if I other people know when I don't do it - I'm less likely to try and skip ... thats the plan anyway lmao

Well this is it. Like I said once I noticed that most of the designer dresses were 'Made in China' I quickly decided to get the knock off made in the same country for a few hundred dollars instead of paying a few thousand dollars for a dress that carried a certain label but was made in the same place. Especially when we'd decided to do a TTD. The lady is super professional - I love her. She said it takes 20-25 days to make, then 3-5 days to courier so I'm looking at late May-early June. Keep your fingers crossed for me :-s

  8. Oh My Word!! I'd like to know what generation she comes from that she doesn't realize that it is beyond tacky to wear white to someone's wedding (unless of course its been stipulated - I was invited to an 'All-White Wedding' once). I mean come on. Honestly, that your FI mum and he should deal with her the same way it would be your place to deal with your own mother if she clearly did not know how to act. You I think should kill her with kindness; you FI needs to stand up to his mother and tell her once and for all what her role is and to stay in it! {{{HUGS}}} hun. No one should have to deal with that nonsense.

I'm sorry you're having to go through such nonsense. Just remember its their loss {{{{{HUGS}}}}} hun

Girl that is my biggest anxiety right now... it coming and looking nothing like the authentic dress but my mum says for $500 dollars (including s&h with veil) I should just be thrilled if it works out and a write-off if I'm mortified :-s I ordered it off of foryoudresses.com. They're based right in China. There were testimonials from other brides, she sent me pics of work she had done etc and even advised me to go to a pro-seamstress to get my measurements. The dress I'm having her do is the Pronovias Francoli gown from the 2011 Collection. Once i realized that most of the designer gowns are Made in China anyway - I figured why pay thousands of dollars for a designer dress manufactured in China when I can pay a few hundreds for the same dress minus the label ... made in the same place. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Yours was awful huh? Gosh - hopefully I have better luck :-s

Anel and Juancarlo did a fantastic job. We are having our reception in our home town this Saturday and so I will post our wedding pics after that! Happy planning ladies!!! Congrats!!! Glad that everything went well. Can't wait to see your pics :-)

Everyone who does go is going to come back talking about how great it is and they will have missed out an a fantastic time. We had friends who are getting married in June confront us and basically tell us they think it's selfish of us to have a destination wedding - the exact quote was "don't you feel guilty asking your friends to spend so much money to fly from Boston to Mexico and stay for 3 or 4 nights?" And the next sentence out of his mouth was "oh Ron are you coming to my bachelor party in London?" WHAT?! Seriously - some people are crazy. So after that conversation we decided it was absolutely thier loss. Stay focused on your friends and family that are excited - it'll keep you excited! And us! We're all excited for you and can't wait to see pictures and hear how wonderful it was...you're soooo close! Are you serious?? Thats nuts not mention RUDE! On our Facebook group that we have for our guests - we clearly state that we would love to see everyone there but completely understand if they can't. Its your wedding day therefore no it is not selfish. Nobody is 'asking' anyone to spend crazy money. That decision is up to them. Some people ... No manners, I tell you.

That bridesmaid thing would have me fuming though. How on earth if you were paying for her stay and she was actually in the wedding could she justify pulling a stunt like that?? Ugggh. {{{{HUGS}}} to you and 'hopes' for me I guess. I can't say I want to experience that :-s

Anyway at the end of the day, I found this company that manufactures replicas right out of China so I'm kind of anxious to see if the dress looks like the original, making sure its not a rip off etc. So I figure if I'm going to gamble I better do it early just in case the dress is shoddy or the business is shady kwim. Plus I genuinely love the dress. :-)
  16. YAY - I found and ordered my wedding gown and veil today :-) Also some of the initial wedding favors that I ordered came this morning and FI and I started the P90x work out together :-) Today was a good day :-)

Some are color, some black and white, some black and white with just flowers or somehting in the picture being color and sepia photos. So creative. We had so much fun. Here is a link to a few of the pictures on his site. She gives us the group rate and within 60 days our guests must put down a non-refundable $250 deposit to hold their spots. Then the balance is due 45 days before the trip. I figure that will drown out the wishy-washy people who SAY they're coming. No one is going to put down a NON-refundable deposit on a trip they don't honestly think they are taking... here's to hoping anyway. Yes - I hope that it gets them booked too.
