Oh my gosh! I have missed so many posts but I have been running around with my head chopped off trying to get quotes. Finally, I think I got a quote that i'm happy with even though my guest are already complaining lol. I booked for May 24th, 2012! Big Congrats goes out to all the new brides and the brides who are getting married in the next week fews. A big thank you to all who have posted reviews and pictures. i really hope that brides continue to post things because I need my wedding fix and I have a very long way to go! lol Photos are big thing for us. I will be contacting people about this but it is nice to know what comes with the free package and how much extra to expect if we did use the resort for photos. I too will be bringing my own brooch bouquet and just throwing the free bouquet. thank you TMwedding2011 and I hope we can see more of your pictures! We plan on sand ceremony too. I still have purchase the umbra ether frame and the glue to glue it together. Might also get glass etching stencils for the frame as well so that i can put our names and wedding date on it. we will see how crafty I get after I make all my invites because I might be all crafted out lol

My sunquest quote was higher than transat. but the taxes was less than transat. I think you got an awesome deal. I'm waiting on another TA quote and I plan on asking for a third quote too. You really got a good deal if it wasn't so short notice I would get married in Nov. of this year too. My first quote came from sears travel. i waiting on one from travelmyway and I plan on getting a quote from marlin travel too tomorrow.

FleetMac, I was wondering if this rate is with taxes and where you were travelling out of? I just got a rate today for May 19, 2012 week for 1229 plus 339.88 double, flying out of toronto and every 21st person free . This is with Transat. what does everyone think? any help would be great!

I ordered all my cardstock and envelopes from ebay. I used seller cutcardstock. They were great to work with. it shipped to brampton ontario within 4 days. I did order when the dollar was high though. The shipping was really reasonable and I really loved my packs of metallic cardstock. they also sent small sample size cardstock. I will use them again for my other projects. i wasn't slapped with duty even though I bought 100 dollars worth of cardstock. Thank you for everyone for welcoming me to the thread. A big thank you goes out to ashley490 for posting the "new" package informaition. Originally, I was thinking about the free package for my May 2012 wedding but now I'm considering the other packages because there is only a couple of hundreds of dollars between the different options. I definitely think that they want to attract more people like jaykay said above, but I was also wondering if it is because of the low American dollar and maybe because next year is the Summer Olympics so people will be travelling for that instead of making trips to the Carribean. Do you ladies know if they have increased or decreased the cost for the open bar or renting the gazebo for the party or even for the private reception? I wouldn't be shocked if they increased these prices so that the costs balance out for them. The new package price might be a ploy. The saying goes if it is too good to be true then it might not be. I don't want to sound like a "debbie downer" but i want my budget to be as realistic as possible. I REALLY do hope though that the prices go down and that the Canadian dollar keeps on going up!! lol

We finally decided on Gran Bahia Principe (because of this thread and I fell in love with the grazebo!) and are going to the travel agent in the next couple weeks to book our date!!! We have about 60 people we are inviting but hope at max 30 of them accept because it fits better in the packages!! lol To ashley490, I couldn't help but notice your post, and would greatly appreciate if you could email me or post an attachment of the new package prices and information. I'm interested in knowing how easy it is to use and if you can save it on your computer or on dvd after you upload your clips.

Great journal Amy. I love your idea of guest book. I never thought of using a map as a guest book idea. Too bad you can't remember where you got your sashes from because i would have liked to compare the prices per packages vs buying individual sashes. I really like the idea of this!!! i think it would be great to see the different viewpoints of my wedding from different guests. So is it my understanding that your guest would save their video files and the bride would upload the clips to this program/application? Or is this like photosharing and the guest uploads their video files and then the bride can arrange the vidoes in the program. Also is this program like Movie Maker? Has anyone ever used moviemaker and shotclip? I wonder if someone could tell me how the compare. I have lots of time to learn how shortclip works and what is the difference between movie maker and shotclip because my wedding is in early 2012 but it would be nice to see and hear about other brides experience with using these programs/applications for their wedding instead of using a videography.

I must say that I really love your flowers. Especially the bridesmaid's wonds. I haven't seen anything like those here in Canada. They will look lovely in pictures! Whoever made them did a great job and should have a website and sell internationally. Also, everything else looks really amazing!!!!! thank you for sharing all your great ideas!

That's what I'm planning on doing. Destination wedding and honeymoon at the same resort.
