  1. Ana sent us a sheet of available extras and it was listed for 350...maybe the prices increased? Did you look at any of the indoor spaces for the reception? I know you can use a couple of the restaurants..but would other hotel guests be eating as well in the restaurant? Thanks for all of your help!
  2. Here's mine www. theknot.com/ourwedding/tobybrune&tiffanystachiw I went with the knot mainly because it's free but it does the job! We've only had it up for about 1 month and I've had 320 views!
  3. Thanks! Ana is my wedding planner but she hasn't been emailing me back lately. I have a few questions about the ceremony music...I know a lot of people go with the sax player but 350 seems kind of expensive for 1/2 an hour. What are the other options?
  4. Do they do more than one wedding per night? I thought I read somewhere that they did but it seems like most of the weddings are held at 4 on the beach. How does this work? Also I am worried about the heat during the reception. I really like the idea of doing it at the cascade pool but does it stay really warm at night?
  5. Did anyone choose the Gold package? I am wondering about the band that is included with that package. Can you use the band during the cocktail hour or only during the reception?

  7. I've decided to rent chavari chairs from a local vendor in punta cana..they have white, gold, black and red. What color would you guys choose for an outdoor reception?
  8. I think I've asked a similar question before..but I'm curious about the chairs that they use for the ceremony/reception. It looks like they are lawn chairs..are there any other chairs available? Also how do chair sashes work on lawn chairs?
  9. atrott did you go through a travel agent for that price? that price is a better than we just quoted (2030 per couple/7 nights). We would LOVE to find a better price for our guests. bikegirl .. with the quote above we would recieve 1 free person for every 20 people (or one free room for every 20 rooms) as well as 10% off at the spa for every guest plus our travel agent said we would negotiate for room upgrades for everyone
  10. Oh and our resort is Excellence Punta Cana (they give a GREAT group deal...my fiance and I get a free room plus other perks for the guests)
  11. Our resort is a 5 star resort..and our guests are paying about 245/night per couple or 195/night per single adult. We have yet to get any complaints about the prices. Except for the flights which seem to be a little pricey (about 700 round-trip)
  12. I'm looking for a place that would rent out chairs. My resort that I'm getting married at uses lawn chairs for the reception dinner and is charging me 10 dollars a chair for anything else. The planner said I could use an outside vendor if I could find one. Any help?? Thanks!
  13. Hey! I have kind of an odd question..did any of you go through a travel agent (TA) while booking your wedding? I have a TA that we deal with for all of our vacations but he is not giving us a better deal than the resort itself..Ana sent me an email with a group deal and it was better than my TA. What did you guys all do to get the best deal?
  14. I have a general question about the resort...my family is pretty laid back and they are concerned about the dress codes. Every restaurant says that they do not allow short pants or t-shirts/tanks for dinner service. So for every night do they require that the guests must dress up in somewhat formal wear or at least long pants and polos? We stay at Sandals every year and they have similar dress codes but allow a lot of flexibility (for instance the guys can wear kacki shorts and a t-shirts). Thanks for your help..give me some examples if you can of what your guests would wear and to which restaurants. Thanks again!
  15. Is anyone nervous about rain? I've never been to the DR so I'm don't know how often it rains there.
  16. I'm getting my MOH her dress, and the other 5 I'm getting rings or necklaces from Coach ... they are about 90 dollars each which isn't too bad. I almost got some stuff from Things Remembered but couldn't find anything perfect.
  17. I think you can just be careful about what you register for, like maybe register are bed bath and beyond instead of somewhere more expensive like pottery barn
  18. My dad is not coming to my wedding either..so I'll be walking down the aisle with my sister, a little weird I know but I don't have any other men in my life and I think it would be worse if my future husband walked me down haha
  19. That's a great idea. I'm only inviting the people that I am inviting to my wedding because I am going to have my travel agent there and he's bringing all the catelogs, brochures, etc. about the resort we are going to. It will be like an information session/party !
  20. I'm having a carribean drum band play and when the bridesmaids walk down they r just going to be doing something a little faster and upbeat

  22. We're having a cigar roller, it's 400 dollars for 4 hours unlimited and there will be two guys working. Should be fun!
  23. I don't think cocktails are necessary...destination weddings aren't the tradition anways so it's okay to not follow the rules!
  24. I found this on theknot.com .. they have song lists for whatever your style is.
