  1. Congrats! We are also getting married at the Chapel of the Flowers in the Magnolia chapel May 7, 2011. We are having an in-suite reception at our hotel. It did seem much easier to plan a Vegas wedding than an at home one. Happy planning!
  2. We decided to have an in-suite reception (we're staying at the Platinum Hotel) but I'm not sure where we can get cold appetizers from. To those of you that live and are from Vegas, what grocery stores do you have that can provide fruit, cheese, and sandwich trays? The chapel has the option available but we're not going to pay $100.00 per tray that's crazy!
  3. A soft grey and light yellow or dark gray and a bright yellow. The yellow we chose is a golden yellow and a bright purple.
  4. Grey and yellow is a good combo. It's different. Our colors are purple and yellow.
  5. We're going to stay at the Platinum hotel and their reception prices are out of our budget. We're looking to spend no more than $30 per person. Thanks! I will definitely look into Rio I've read a lot of good reviews.
  6. Ok so we're 9 months away and have every detail figured out but where we're going to eat after the ceremony. Some people have told me to go to a buffet. I've only eaten at the luxor buffet so I need to know what hotels have good buffets? A coworker suggested harrahs and I know flamingo has a semi private room but not sure how the food will be.
  7. It's pretty much on target and covers everything.

  9. We are getting married May 7, 2011 at the Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas. Wedding plans are finished and just started buying things we want for the ceremony and OOT bags. We finally finalized the guest list last night. We have our STDs and invites picked out but are waiting until September to send the STDs out jic we need to do another date change (FI is in the Navy). I already have my dress and we picked out his tux. Don't know what to do with myself now that everything is planned and in action.
  10. Congrats Nicole! Happy Planning!!
  11. I think it's up to what the both of you feel like doing and what your budget is. We are going to dinner at a restaurant and may hit a club with our friends afterwards. We also chose not to have an at home reception.
  12. Your right there is way too much to see and do in Vegas. I've been twice and still haven't seen everything I wanted to. Make a list of the things you what to do break them up between day and night and try to do as much as possible everyday.
  13. Welcome and congrats! This forum is the perfect place to be to start your planning. Enjoy and happy planning!
  14. We're planning to stay at Mirage or Treasure Island never stayed there but have heard good things about them and they're in the heart of the strip. Can't help with restaurants never sat down to eat anywhere was always on the go.
  15. Your options are endless depending on the shade of purple. We're doing a dark purple and golden yellow. Play with different color swatches or napkins to get a good idea.
  16. This is the site to be on to figure it all out. Tell FI it is so much easier and sometimes more economical to do a DW. First determine your budget and go from there. Good luck and happy planning!
  17. This forum is a great place to start. There's a ton of ideas on here about any and everything. Congrats and happy planning!
  18. We decided on a DW to keep the costs down and we wanted an intimate ceremony. The only mouths I've been hearing is my father's side of the family but we could careless about what they say, they're not helping us pay for the wedding. Either they do or don't attend won't hurt our feelings. Bottom line is it's your day and you two have to live with the memories (and possible debt :-)) for the rest of your lives.
  19. Traditional ceremonies are a thing of the past. You'll be fine walking down the isle by yourself. I'm thinking of doing the same as my father is deceased, my brother my not attend, and I want my mother to see me walking down the isle. She had something to say about it but at the end of the day its "my day".
  20. Congratulations and happy planning. There's alot of ideas on here.
  21. Figure out the number of people you want to invite, your budget, and the type of wedding you want and plan based on those. A Vegas wedding shouldn't be stressful to plan and you have time to do some research. This forum has tons of ideas and is a great help. Congratulations and happy planning!
  22. Wonderful proposal major cool points to your FI. Congratulations!
