    I have been going round & round with this too. For 2 hr reception with a meal & drinks (no music or anything) it's $50 pp. Our wedding isn't until 4pm so that would put us at about 6:30 pm when it's all over and people can just hang out. So then after talking with my mom she thinks we should just do the 1 hr cocktail reception then all go to one of the restaurants on the resort. I'm going nuts trying to decide too, ha! My biggest issue with the sit down reception is decorations, they charge a lot for additional tables/decorations and I don't want to go over our budget.

    So...I called around today because I found a Maggie I love on her website and the gown is $700 which is fine but they said if I would order it today it isn't estimated to even be shipped until April 19th so looks like no Maggie unless i can find it somewhere else or have it made. Can anyone recommend some places that have done a good job replicating gowns?

    Meeting with a travel agent with my FI was the best thing we did I think. I was like you, so overwhelmed with all the places, resorts, packages, etc. After meeting with my TA we were able to narrow it down to a few locations & then look at particulars of each. After that...the swim up bars were my FI's winning resort, ha!

    Julie, I almost thought I stole your time but you are at a different resort. We are getting married @ 4 on the 8th. Today my FI & I spoke with Ileana from Tropical Images & decided to book them to do our photos but it will either be the day before or after the actual wedding.

    Well that just stinks that someone would do that.

    Our invites are MIB with our names engraved. We got them through Hanson & Ellis. We had the invitation read: "A perfect shell is a gift from the sea as beautiful and unique as our love is meant to be" Then the "please join x and y..."

    My parents weren't too happy about the destination wedding initially but now they are really excited to come along. So be prepared for a little inital shock from them.

    Anyone have a unique wording idea for response cards? We did a MIB invitation & have a starfish theme. I was thinking of something like: We request your response by XXXX ____ When does the plane leave! ____ Too long of a flight right now. Number of Guests ____ But then I think I should stay traditional...any suggestions?

    I would definitely call. Being a nurse I would have huge health concerns about this and being a builder they should respect your concerns for this. If they give you a hard time threaten calling higher level of inspectors, etc (health department)

    Sorry to hear that! You can always get married with just the 2 of you and have a big party with everyone else if it's important for you to get married sooner rather than later.

    Right now my FIs friends haven't committed to coming so at this point we aren't sure who his bestman will be. I think it sucks for him : (
