yea... I would be upset too! Did she say why she all of a sudden wants to go there now that you've picked your wedding location? Did she know you picked it because no one else had been there before? If she didn't know or she's just going maybe to give you the inside scoop then I would just look at as now you'll know more info. My cousin who's coming to my wedding went to ROR like 3 times and loved it so I found it really helpful to get details from her. She had pictures of every single thing you could think of which is also very helpful. So if she's going down there and it's outta your control, I would just get her to find out exactly what your interested in knowing.

So I emailed Tai to get a quote on there flowers for comparison... but I was wondering... Do you think they would quote higher... lower... or the same with getting a quote in advance vs. waiting until you got to the resort to do it through the WC?

Yea i just can't understand how people don't understand who RUDE it is to invite yourself to something you didn't get an invitation too... i would NEVER do that. You are all right... I'm just gonna put my foot down cuz at the end of the day it's OUR wedding. If they don't like me for it then I guess there's nothing I can do... i mean I was never that close with them to begin with... so I wouldn't call it a loss

I also recently ordered from Shavon she was very easy to work with. She responded to me in less than two days. I ordered my bridal bouquet (plumerias, stargazers, orchids), three bridesmaids bouquet (plumerias and orchids), 3 bouts, 3 hairflower sets (plumeria and orchid), four corsages (3 plumerias) all for less than $500 which is really good compared to other places and the real ones.

OMG so my family is drving me crazyy!!!!!! The whole reason why we chose a destination wedding was to cut down on costs and avoid inviting my entire family because it's huge!!! Initially we were'nt gonna invite more than 15 people and my mom almost had a heart attack because I wasn't inviting people who she wanted to come sooo i made an exception and invited some more and now i have people calling me left and right asking me for info to the resort so they can go!!! I mean seriously!!!! and I can't say no... its really making me soo soo mad because the bigger it gets the less I can do with like OOT bags and reception etc. and NO ONE seems to understand. It's me n my FI paying... no one else. and we're paying for half the rooms on the original guests list because those are people who we absolutely WANT to be there so now people think if we don't pay for half their stay it's fine for them to go... but its not! and yesterday my FI ex step mom... yes EX was like soo am I invited or what to my FI so of course he felt like he had to say yes and did! So its his mom, dad, dad's gf and ex step mom.... talk about AKWARD! And today my mom called and was like I just called ur cousins in canada to let them know you were getting married and they asked for the info so can u send it? I just FLIPPED on her and then SHE got upset at ME! but i mean seriously!??!?! And THEN not to mention my dad i don't even know if he's going or not (long story) said to me the other night when I asked him if he decided yet said you didnt even have the deciency to invite any family on my side. RU KIDDING ME?!?!? i barely even know his family!!!!! and I talk to him like once every couple of months and I havent seen him in almost two years! UGH i can feel my blood pressure rising.... We shouldve just eloped

I just wanted to bump this thread because I had a couple people ask me about beaches boscobel but I'm not getting married there any more and this tells why! Thanks

ohh okay... yea I can def see how that can get annoying! what about the newbie comments? We all kinda write the same thing there

I went through a bad experience with picking a terrible TA (twice) with destinationweddings.com and not doing as much research as I shouldve and got to the point where I couldnt take it.... after a mental breakdown... I found a new TA (Maureen) and decided to switch. Best decision for me. BUT Beaches boscobel is great and there a lot of girls who had an amazing wedding. Good luck with everything!!!

So I was with my hairdresser last night and we were just brainstorming on different ideas to do my hair. My hair is in invisible braids (wet and wavy) majority of the time becuase I hate having to straigten it all the time to blend in with weave. and I know for a fact that i will be swimming which will make it worse because my hair does not do well with water with or without a relaxer. I'm soo confused! She was thinking maybe micro invisible around the outside and weave in the middle with remi hair? Oh and also for the girls who were asking about the front lace wigs... I wore one before and I really like it... it looks awesome.. but i thought it was too much work because in order for your hairline not to get damaged you have to take it off and re dofrequently... but I don't think I would recommend it on the island because if you sweat alot it slides back

This is just an update... thanks to you I emailed Pat and Debbie and they were really great. Responded to me soo quickly. Willing to work around my budget and make neccessary changes in the flowers I wanted to accomodate my budget. I actually ended up going with Shavon... Simply for the fact that she was cheaper and it's less for delivery since she's located here in the states. BUT if anyone has any questions on either of the companies let me know. I talked to both for a while before I made a decision!

yea I also wanted to work with grande garden. they responded to me fairly quickly with an info sheet asking me to fill out exactly what I wanted and set up a time to call... which I did about 2-3 weeks ago and havent heard back from them. I emailed her again, (Charmain Phang) but she still hasn't responded I'm not sure why. It's probably also good to call these places too if we don't here a response because they proabably get slammed with emails.

I'm sorry I guess I was sharing useless info like someone commented on how she couldnt breathe in her dress and I told her I had the same problem when I tried mine on and she pulled it RIDICULOUSLY tight (but it was awful lol so i felt her pain) and thanking people cuz their post was really helpful (i have a huge list of ideas now!). Last night, sorry to say BEFORE I read your post Tammy, I posted to a bunch of newbies welcoming them... which was pointless too I'm a talker if you haven't noticed BUT I promise I plan on coming up with the most AMAZING detailed planning post ever!!!
