Your already spending soo much money... why would you want to compromise your happiness on the most important day of your life you know? And I dunno how your guests are handling it but I had full support from everyone... which made it even easier. If you want any help or advise just let me know....im always here.... I know we're getting married at different resorts but I definetly know exactly where you are at this point

Another somewhat friend said she didn't like Punta Cana and could we go somewhere else (umm she wasn't on my guest list since she complains about still paying off the trip to my brothers destination wedding). lol thats funny.... yea i can't understand it. I mean would they do this if we were having a wedding in our current location? It really makes you wonder where these peoples heads are. Originally my bridesmaids was like can I invite two of my friends to come too (people who I didn't eve know!) And i was firm there I was like nooo its a wedding you cant just invite random people who i dont even know regardless of whether or not i'm paying for them

I think this may be one idea you can let go off for the sake of the budget. Just my $0.02:) I will say if you were going to do something like this to go with the mugs. They are a hit at ROR! Thanks Maureen... I must admit you are right... as always! I really dunno what I'd do without you.... I'd prolly be in an insane asylum.... and poor lol and can i just reiterate how addicting this site is!! I came in to work 2 hrs before my first patient so I could talk and write more ideas down!

It won't be on the sand... so thats a VERY good point which I will bring up to him tonight!

Also she said it didnt.... but I think when your Jamaican you get things cheaper because they know not to rip you off (i may be completely off by saying this) BUT when I went to Mo Bay with friends and cousins a few years ago and we took two cabs... they charged me and my friends more (no accent) than my cousins (accent).... coincidence??
  7. Oh yeaa and ANOTHER issue is his shoes... everyone will be wearing flip flops since its in the sand but he says if he wears his uniform he HAS to wear his shiny black shoes which he thinks will look retarded in the sand... What do you thinK? I just wanna ease his mind and say people do it all the time!!! but i dunno how true that is lol

But I think if the groomsen throw on a tie or something it'll look fine!!.

  10. Hey ladies okay sooo I finally narrowed down what I would like my centerpieces to look like... It's down to two... I'm still debating on the first the second or maybe both?? First one.... Sooo I was thinking the candle with seashells and maybe some sand at the bottom but not with the round bowl.. with the shape of the second pic. OR Second one.... but instead of rocks... seashells What do you all think!?!?!??
  11. Quote: Originally Posted by Mischaka I was thinking about towels also but those are not cheap!!! and to get them personalized...whew!! I'm doing the mugs and those will be personalized. So the towels can not have anything on them. they'll all remember where they got them from. lol Mischaka ru getting ur mugs from discountmugs? Another idea for the personalized mugs are waterproof labels which work really well and there's also mugs in the dollar story that you can insert with your logo... I think those are really cute. I might head over to the dollar store today
  12. Yea you ladies are right... I have a shopping problem... I need to stop finding all these cute ideas to tip the budget.... its soooooo hard though!!!!
  13. I am so glad I found this thread! My FI is in the Marines and he loves it.... but I tell you it is soo hard. He's been deployed to Iraq twice and he's gone everywhere, phillipines, kuwait, japan etc. and early next year he may be off to Afghanistan. And I can honestly say that there's no words to prepare you for when they leave and it gets harder everytime (at least it is for me). The best thing to do is just stay busy. When he's away I write down stupid funny things that happen and put them together for my weekly letter to him. If you ladies ever want to talk or nething you can ALWAYS pm me! Stay strong! With that being said... are your FI wearing the military dress uniform at the wedding??
  14. I'm a physician assistant in Neurosurgery and my FI is a marine!
  15. thanks Jess... i guess my concern is rhinestones coming off or the iron decals coming off... but that a good idea doing it just for the wedding party I wish there didn't have to be a minimum for getting these towels. The robes are also good idea that would be really cute if we are all in them getting ready for the wedding lol Where did you get your robes?
  16. another idea is if you use staples copy center and send your template to them they can print it on their labels and laminate it that way its already a waterproof sticker

If you are really into leaving the resort and having lots of excursions and activities in the area then Ocho Rios is the place for you! Famous Dunn's River Falls Coyaba Gardens and Mahoe Falls Dolphin Cove All new and thrilling Mystic Mountain (ziplining, bobsledding, and aerial trams) Martha Brae River Rafting Shopping and Margaritaville You can still do these activities from Mo' Bay just keep in mind you will have a longer travel time so they may be all day excursions rather than a few hours. If you would like to customize your own group excursion, give Norma a call at Lee's Tours. These are great ones Maureen! I also noticed that no one has mentioned Roaring river! They give a really great tour and a lot of history about it. Supposedly this river has "healing powers" We actually went in there. They also had marijuana trees everywhere... it was pretty funny! It's not far from Rick's cafe. We rode a moped from Roaring river over to Ricks.
  18. Has anyone ever went to Fern gully? If so, how was it?
  19. I also spoke to my cousin about this recently because she stayed at ROR and went to ricks. She said they took a catamaran there and when they got close to the cliff at Ricks they went snorkeling and then let them off to eat and hang out there for a few hours. It was only about 30 bucks pp she said and it was a tour company that they found at one of the set ups at ROR.
  20. thanks ladies... Jess you have a good point... i didnt even think about them getting the towels back... I was looking at shot glassess too which are alot cheaper and may be a better idea since we ARE stayin at an AI resort and towels will be there. I've been look for embroidered companies around here but I havent had ne luck.... so I dunno... i guess I'll sleep on it lol
  21. Quote: Originally Posted by Mallory57 In my opinion, that's still a lot to spend on a towel...is there a company around where you live that does embroidery? I really want to do towels, too, but the price can get a little ridiculous--and like my fiance pointed out to me--guests know where they're headed and will likely bring their own towels. Men--always killing the fun! Lol...good luck...your design is really cute though!! yea ur right... and he is such a fun sucker!!! but thats a good idea i didnt even think about it... i'm gonna look into embroidered companies around my location before I order... thanks for ur help!
  22. yea 18 is alot per towel... and that's what I was telling my FH... 8.25 really isn't that bad compared to others
  23. Hey everyone... okay soo I received my quote today for personalized beach towels from cottonfruit.com. I could only get a minimum of 24. They are 30x60 quoted at 8.25 each and 25 for shipping so that takes me to around 220... do you think I should go for it? I really want to but FI thinks I'm crazy to buy beach towels for everyone. I have no issue with taking these down because my three bridesmaids and mom and FI are all flying down together so everyones taking a bag I jus wanna know what you guys think? heres the design... (I got a quote for yellow and orange)
  24. Really?? Is that only for RMB or is that all RIU chains?
