I hope I didn't come off as being selfish in wondering if I should talk to her about my wedding...My biggest concern is that she and her fiance paid for their plane tickets in full, as well as the deposit on the room. I would hate for her lose out on all of the money. AmyKH, I like the idea of talking to her mom. I'll give her a call in a month or two and see what she thinks. Thanks for your input!

thanks everyone for the kind words of support. my friend is holding up as well as can be expected right now...luckily, she has a large family and group of friends, so she has a lot of support right now to help her get through this hard time. but this brings me to my dilemma. She and her fiance were booked for our wedding in May. I think it's too soon right now to even bring that up, but the final payments will be due in March. How do I bring the topic up with her? I would totally understand her not wanting to go, and would support her completely in that decision. I just don't even know how to ask. Any suggestions?

I bought a pair of flip-flops that were very similar at TJ Maxx. I don't have them with me, so I can't tell you the brand, but they had the sparkly starfish and came in offwhite, pink, or blue. best of luck finding a pair!!
