  8. ooh, my songs! This is what I have so far: Bridal party (processional) aisle song - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole Bride aisle song - "Here Comes the Bride" by Bobby Morganstein (the island version--very upbeat and tropical!) Wedding party (recessional) aisle song - haven't fully decided yet, but leaning towards "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz during the sand ceremony, we are going to play "Wind Beneath My Wings." Both of my FI's parents are deceased, and this was their song, so this is our way of including them in the ceremony Reception entrance song - First dance song - Father/daughter song - "Butterfly Kisses" (my dad had this song picked out 10 years ago ) Mother/son song - Cake cutting song - Bouquet toss song - "Single Ladies" by Beyonce Garter toss song - Last song of the night - that is as far as I have gotten...I want to include "Smile" by Uncle Kracker somewhere, but not sure where yet. My FI and I are thinking about doing a goofy first dance--has anyone seen this video? We are both goofballs, and this is our style, lol Evolution of Wedding Dance - Snotr
  9. Andrea, I'm glad you can use it! Like I said, I stole the template from another bride, and most of the work was already done. That's why I love this forum--so many great templates for non-creative, non-computer-savvy people like me!
  10. okay, I have attached my pre-wedding brochure. I stole the template from Trayce2222, and I loved the way it looked! I am mailing these off mid-Feb. with luggage tags to help the guests get pumped up about the trip! The measurements aren't quite right, so I need to adjust it to fit in the margins to be printed--if anyone has any suggestions on how to do that, I would appreciate them! brochure.ppt
  11. I used powerpoint to make my brochures--I downloaded a template from another girl's planning thread that I loved (and it worked out well--she was getting married at Sensatori also so a lot of the information was the same!). I tried using Vistaprint, but all of the measurements were off, and it was stressing me out....So I'm taking it to our OfficeMax and will just pay for them to print them off. Like you said, sometimes paying a little bit of extra for our sanity is totally worth it!!
  12. My New To-Do List: 1. get brochures printed 2. make luggage tags for guests 3. mail off brochures & luggage tags 4. keep working out! 5. find the bridesmaid's dress in a large!! 6. sit down with FI and start making decisions (food, decorations, etc.)
  13. my update of my To-Do list: 1. finish up pre-wedding brochure DONE! I just need to get them printed, but the brochures are complete 2. order OOT bags not done, but I have found the bags I'm going to use! 3. order fans for ceremony not done, but I have found the fans I will buy! 4. book date for BD shoot DONE! booked the photographer, and have talked to my sister about doing my hair/makeup (she works at a salon, so I'm lucky) 5. START WORKING OUT!! DONE! I started P90X and am in serious pain, but I keep picturing myself looking sexy for my BD shoot and it's keeping me motivated! 6. start picking out music for ceremony and reception DONE! I have selected all the music for the ceremony, and I have delegated the reception music to my FI...we will see how this goes, lol
  14. I am in Denton-- I see you are from Austin; such a cool city. My fiance is from San Antonio, so I always make him stop in Austin at Amy's Ice Cream on the drive home
  15. Quote: That is interesting, I use her too! But I would not recommend her. She's timely in her responses, yes, but really doesn't seem to know much about the in's and out's of DW. She's also been wrong on some things and caused us a lot of unneeded stress. If you don't mind me asking, what has she been wrong on? Now I'm all worried that she's wrong about something that she has told me!
  16. AmyKH, if you are working with destinationweddings.com, I strongly recommend you see if you can swap to Karilyn. I am using her, and she has been fabulous! She has been responsive to all my e-mails/phone calls, and my guests are not having any trouble with her PM me if you want her contact information!

  21. Okay, this is my first attempt of posting a picture, so wish me luck! The brand is City Triangles; it is a coral color, with spaghetti straps, empire bust with beading underneath, and a chiffon bottom that hits right at the knees. It has been retailing at all of our Ross stores for $19.99, and I need it in a Large. Thank you SOOOO much!!
  22. Okay, so my hunt to find the bridesmaid's dress failed. In between my mom and I, we visited 18 Ross stores over this weekend in the DFW area trying to find the dress in a large. We have searched online with no luck either. So now I'm going to try and recruit you ladies If any of you shop at Ross, would you PLEASE look for the dress for me?! I will pay gas money and ship you the money ASAP!! I'm sorry, I am getting desperate, lol. I'll post a picture later with more details
  23. congrats and welcome to the forum! happy planning!
