I am getting married on 10-10-10 in Canada and then having a symbolic wedding on Oct 19th, 2010. You could always do that if you can't find a resort abroad.

@brendali.caban - I was told you can fit approx 70 people under the gazebo.

Also the TripAdvisor website has links to "Things to do". Search for your hotel. Once viewing your hotel - on the left side menu, there is a link for "Things to do" for Punta Cana.

Has anyone given a 'gift' (like a bracelet or some sort of jewelry) to their WC instead of $? When giving $/gift to WC, how/when did you give it to her (as I am not sure when is the last time you will see her on your wedding day)?

Bright orange flowers photograph well - and would go well with the brown in your wedding theme.

I am getting married at the Gazebo. I have heard too many horror stories of topless grandma's standing too close to the beach ceremony area (in the background of the photos). The gazebo is much more private and my guests will be partially shaded. The beach will play a big part in my wedding photos so I don't feel the need to be married on the beach.

I am getting married at the Colonial on Oct 19, 2010. I have booked Michael Steingard (PhotoPhil's nephew). A friend of mine got married at the Colonial using Michael Steingard this past Nov 2009. She said it was the best time ever! That Michael was like a wedding co-ordinator as he knows everyone and knows how the day is going to play out. PLUS her photos are GORGEOUS! I agree that the other post was getting way too long. Good idea to start fresh. We should start a new list of wedding dates. I will pull the date list from the old thread.

With Platinum, the dull look is called 'Satin'. Yes, you do have to have a platinum ring buffed for it to keep its shiny look.

Ummmm... my ring is Platinum and have I had it for 2 years. I have worn the inside of it as I am hard on my ring but it is still pure in color (the color has never changed and I have never had it 'dipped' in anything). Does anyone actually have a Platinum ring that needed to be dipped?

I was leaning towards red roses (as the dress has roses on it) with yellow calla lilies and dark blue/purple iris accents. I was told by my photographer that orange photographs well with the bright lighting in the Dominican Rep - I am thinking to maybe orange roses.... I think a mainly white or cream bouquet might be too bland for photos...

I need your help! I just bought my dress! Yipppie! It is Maggie Sottero - Rhianna Royale in Light Champagne/Gold accent (if you go to Maggie's website and search 'Rhianna' you will find it). So my problem is this - what flower colors would go with this dress? No brides maids so I don't have to worry about matching their dresses. Would any flower color work? Has anyone gotten married in this dress (or dress color)? If so, can you tell me what flower colors you used?

I take mine off when I before I shower, do dishes, sleep, clean. I have a ring holder by my kitchen sink and in my bathroom. So if it is not on my finger, I know it is one of the two ring holders.

I have/had her as a co-ordinator. I just found out from the Majestic Facebook group. I guess a woman named Claudia is replacing her.

Has anyone trashed their real wedding dress and found it too heavy once wet? What about the TTD dress...did it get really heavy when wet as well? I really don't want to drag 2 dresses to the DR and will NEVER wear the real wedding dress again so I am leaning towards trashing my real ($1500) dress.
