  1. Here is my dress!! This is my second wedding and I already did the Princess dress the first time around, so I wanted something more informal and beachy this time around. It is a Mori-Lee Style #6407 in ivory. I love the simplicty of it but at the same time I think it is still a beautiful dress. It has some really nice rouching (sp?) and its the perfect fit and length. Well atleast for now...when I finally get the last 40 lbs off, I guess I will need some alterations, but Im looking forward to it and a smaller me.....lol The dresses on here are amazing....I can't beleive how mcuh wedding dresses have changed even within the last 10 years. So Beautiful ladies!
  2. I work outside of the city, so a lunch date wont work for me unless it is on a Thrusday as that is my day off. But I am game if it should still work.
  3. We are doing turqouise and a bright orange. I also wanted pink but found it too difficult to find anyone with matching linens, etc. So I just changed to orange. What if you did your orange and pink as planned but throw in a turqouise or blue or green. That way atleast one of your linens can match?? Honestly, I once I changed all of my colours, I realized it didnt really matter. Bc I cant remember anyones linens from the prvious weddings. I remember their BM dresses, colours and flowers, but thats about it. If you want pink and orange - stick with that and maybe find a colour that will go with them. Good luck
  4. It sounds like we are all spread out - so it sounds like DT Calgary might be the best idea. If we could narrow down a time then we would have a better idea of where we could meet up What about Melrose on 17th? Its somewhat of a hot spot especially on warm days and patio weather...and it defintely is a good spot for people watching....or Cailey's (spelling?)pub??

It is very different than Toronto, but I am hoping I can meet some friends soon to make the transition easier. Natalie Hey Natalie! I moved from the GTA back on 1997 to Calgary. It is very different here, but really the same at the same time. You will find the transition fairly easy Im sure. Its really wasy to get around here - incomparison to TO. Congrats on the engagement and I hope all goes well with the move! If you need someone to hang with give me a shout! Jenn

  11. For any of you that are looking for luggage tags....I was at Dollarama yesterday and saw a two pack of luggage tags for $1.00. They are not the ones I am looking for but they would probably suit someones needs. They had all different national flags on front and then a plain back where your info could be placed. Im sure if you didnt like the front picture, you might be able to put a big enough label over it to cover it up, and although that would be something I could do, I have already ordered my luggage inserts, so that wont work for me. They also had the big heavy duty one with the CAN flag on it, and other ones that said "are we there yet" or "get my off this thing" for a dollar each. Quite a few to pick from. Just thought I would let you know....... Hope everyone had a great weekend....to my freinds out east....you suck....lol jk.....but I wish I had your weather right about now.....I dont think even my ruby slippers can get me out of this hurricane and cold zone today....ugh! Have fun ladies!

I think that's about it, but I feel like I'm forgetting something. There won't be any surprises so long as you are clear in what you want. I would recommend writing it all down on what you agreed on, to confirm it all in your appointment with Maria. You'll be fine. Hope that helps! Thank you thank you for sharing!!
  14. Welcome Back Cara! Congrats on becoming a Mrs! Cant wait to see your review and pics.... So was it everything you thought it would be?
  15. I have been thinking about staying at the El Dorado Royal for our honeymoon as I am not happy with the beach setting a Secrets Capri or Silversands and the Maroma is too luxurious for our liking so any thoughts? Has anyone stayed at the Eldorado Royal for their honeymoon? IF so, did you upgrade to the casitas and was it expensive to do so? Thanks! Jennifer

His family "knew" of our original plans, even though we did not send formal invitations. We have discussed having two AHRs, one in his hometown of Pittsburgh and the other in my hometown of Washington, DC. However this will cost additional money; so we are unsure if we will entertain the idea of having two AHRs. JennyBell1- can you send me the wording you used for the AHR invite? Thanks again everyone. AP - For sure - I am at work and dont have access to my home computer - but I can PM it to you on the weekend if you like?

  18. Danielle, they look fabulous! Thanks for posting them, Im sure you have given so many ladies the courage to love their bodies and do this amazing thing for their hubby's to be. He is going to love them based on the two you posted here. Such great photos of you! Congrats on a great shoot!
  19. I have two sets of invitations. Everyone will get oneof the two based on the guest list. I have the formal actual invitation to the DW and the other invite is for the AHR afterwards; it somewhat explains why we are having an AHR, and I think it is self explanatory for those not actually invited to the DW. If you havent done invites, this may be an option for you. If invites have already been sent out, then I also agree with the other ladies that a letter would be more appropriate regarding the change of plans. Good Luck!

Do you mind sharing what extras you paid for and how much extra out of pocket you paid over and above the "free Sandos Symbolic wedding?" I just dont want any surprises and want to be as prepared as I can be when going down there. Thanks
