  1. Hi Ladies, I am selling my Brand New Ivory Mori Lee Wedding Dress (tags still attached, never worn) as my venue has changed, thus so has my dress. It is a size 18 which is street size 14 but will fit a street size 16 as my girl friend tried it on at the salon as well. It can be altered down by 4 dress sizes, however no more then that as per the Salon. It has never been altered and fits me perfectly. I am 5'9 and I would still have enough length to put heels on, however I chose to go barefoot. I purchased the dress for $630.00 CAN - please make me a resonable offer for this New, Never worn, Tags still attached Dress. Thanks so much for looking. I can't seem to get the picture of me wearing the dress uploaded so if you want to see that also please PM me. Thanks!!

  4. Hey Ladies, Just wanted to let those of you know that are planning on doing OOT bags.......I found pashmina's at Ardene at CrossIron Mills and they are now on sale for $5.00 each or 3 for $15.00. This is a really good deal as I have been watching them for a while and they have never gone lower then 2 for $14.00. I just went there and picked up 20 pashminas, turquoise and black for the women coming to my wedding. There were alot of colours to choose from and they are very soft so go pick some up asap if you are wanting to put them in your oot bags.....lol Just thought I would let you know ........
  5. Miconnelly - I just place my order the other day and wont be getting it until sometime in mid July this year - but I think that is bc she knows I am in no rush and also bc she has quite a few orders on the go right now. I ended up ordering a mango orane calla bouquet for myself, an ivory calla and orange hibiscus bouquet for my MOH, two small ivory cala bouquets for my FG's and then a white calla bout for the BM and two mango orange calla bouts fro my FI and son. My MOH and FG's bouquets will be wrapped in a turquoise satin ribbon with an thin ivory ribbon overlay and my bouquet will be wrapped in an invory ribbon with a thin turquoise satin ribbon overlay. In total not including shipping for the floramatique flowers, I was looking at around $237.00 CAN. However I am originally from Hamilton, Ontario and we are going down to Windsor, Onatrio in July for the engagement / pre-wedding reception put on by his mom. So Im sure one of my friends from the Hammer can pick up my flowers and bring them to Windsor for us. Then we will just take them back to Calgary on the plane. I'm really excited to get them...and her pictures of what my bouquest and what not would look like were a great start, so it should be intersting to see how she progresses with them. I like that she sends picutres along the way so you can see what she has come up with and then make any alterations you may want. As I have heard some other companies out there where they just ship and you have no clue what your getting prior to you receiving them in the mail. I'm sure they must be abler to do something with blue flowers in your bouquet....you'll have to post pics once you have something from her. Good luck!
  6. Hey Miconnelly, Im using enchanting memories as well..... they're prices are very reasonable and its semi local for me as I am originally from the Hamilton, Ont area - so I have famiy and friends who can pick up my flowers for me. Do you know what you are ordering from Pat and Debbie?? Jenn
  7. Did Maria put together the welcome bags for you or did you do it yourself? I am going to have Maria do it before we get there. She said it would be $3/bag to deliver them to the rooms and then an additional charge to put them together. I'm not sure of the charge though and if it is too much we will probably just take care of it. I would definitely look into that further, bc I have heard from other brides who also requested that Maria do that for them and found out in fact that she herself didnt deliver them. They were either delivered by someone else (bell noy, etc) and then items were missing from the bags, or the bags didnt get delivered all together and then the bride and groom had to hand them out anyways. I was going to have Maria do mine to, but now I have decided to put mine together when I get there with my FI and parents and then as my guest arrive, I will be meeting them in the lobby and giving it to them then. This way nothing goes mysteriously missing and I know that my guests actually got them on time. This is also an issue when it comes to putting out favours for your guests at the tables. They say you should have someone responsible to take care of these sorts of things for you - someone coming to your wedding. Just a suggestion, but I would definitely rethink that option.
  8. This is too funny - I commented on your wedding on Sandos Facebook profile - they have your pictures up and I left a message for you to see if you could tell me where you got your hubbys wedding day outfit? Too weird - I should have known you were on this site! LOL Love your pics on photobucket and on Sandos FB site - everything looks fanatastic!!! Congrats!
  9. I haven't done mine yet. But I have had 7 friends get married in Mexico and 4 did it legally and 3 did a symbolic wedding. No one regretted their decision and all of them were so happy with their wedding. None of the couples that did their symbolic ceremony stated they would change a thing. However 3 out of the 4 couples that did it legally said that although they loved getting married down there, that if they were to do it over again, they would do the legal thing at home and do a symbolic ceremony. Like I said they didnt regret getting married there, but they all said it was a lot more work and a bit of a hassle. Blood work and getting the paper work translated along with the licence. It just cost way more then if they had done it symbolicly. We are getting married in Canada, 4-7 days prior to leaving for Mexico and then doing a symbolic wedding when we get there. To all of our guests, this will be a legal wedding, but we will know the truth that its actually only a symbolic one. To us legal or not legal, the day we say our vows in Mexico, will be our wedding day and will always be our wedding day. A peice of paper shows its legal, but its what is in your heart that matters. Thats what I think anyways. We are making the legal day a very simplistic "nothing special", another day in the week kind of thing and thats it. Its all in what you make of it and its all in what you truly want. Some people truly want to be legally married in Mexico or wherever their DW is, to others it doesnt matter. To each his own right? What is good for some isnt good for others. You have to do what you want and not worry about what other people want you to do and also do what your budget dictates too. Hope that helps!
  10. Thanks Char and Coco.... Swatches....are you bringing your own decorations down there?
  11. Oh thanks for the info on the pashminas - Ive been searching for a while....will have to check out Ardene soon
  12. Hey Ladies, Wow lots to catch up on....have been so busy lately that I havent been able to check the posts... Just booked my wedding today.....Jan 19, 2012 at Sandos! Put deposits down with the TA too....so theres a start....now to wait 14 months...ugh!
  13. Hey Nem, I think getting married here is a good idea - yes it will be a little weird trying to keep it as though its not a big deal and trying not to listen to the magistraite, but atleast it will be done and then I can enjoy my time down in Mexico. I have heard a lot of girls doing the same thing as us and they just get a coule close friends to be the witnesses and then took them out from brunch afterwards. I think that is what we might do as well. Keep it pretty basic but also thank them for being there for us too, even if it really wont be our wedding date. On a side note....just booked my wedding with Maria yesterday and put deposits down with my TA...a whole 14 months away...haha! So we are now booked for Jan 19, 2012!!!! So excited....but its so far away......atleast it actually feels real now....before it just seemed like we were planning for a day that was never going to come!
  14. We also chose not to do the "legal wedding" in Mexico due to the blood work and extra expenses and also bc I have been divorced and it is more of a hassle when your a woman and have a divorce behind you. We decided that we will get legally married a couple of days prior to leaving without telling anyone. That way our guests wont feel cheated out of a wedding, and also bc the day we get married in Mexico, WILL be our wedding day to us. No one will be able to tell that this wedding wasnt actually legal. So why not skip the costs associated with it and get married in your home country first? Plus...just so you know, not that any of us ever plan on getting divorced, but if you get legally married in Mexico - you have to get legally divorced in Mexico. That means you would have to take a trip down there with your spouse to file for divorce...not my idea of fun especially being thru one already on my home turf. Again not saying this will happen, but alot of marriages now end in divorce these days...I dont plan on it ever happening to me again, but that info was in the back of my mind when we planned this....Sorry if I rained on anyones parade...I just speak from experience and have that little reality check every so often.....
  15. I'm in Didsbury, Alberta and my wedding is still a ways away, Jan 2012. However we are putting down deposits in the next week or so for the wedding at Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa and the honeymoon at either the El Dorado Royale, or The Imperial Maya....just havent narrowed it down yet on the honeymoon...I guess whichever one fits into our budget will be the one we pick. I have all my OOT bags completed, have my dress, fans are complete, favours are complete, and Im in the middle of adhering the logos to my travel mugs and finishing the starfish place cards as well as my "meet the guests and info" book. Luckily I have a lot of time to do this....lol Glad to see so many other Canadian Brides! Congrats ladies!!!!
