Thanks for the great info Chloe!! My ceremony is at 5 too- what a great idea to use the mariachis for the first dance! Did you have to pay for the cocktail hour? Or did you just use the champagne that came in your package? FI doesn't want to pay any extra, and just wants everyone to gather in a bar area w/ mariachis. Do you think that would work? Sounds like you guys had a blast!

Lynn-as for the invites, we did a STD/invite combo. On the card, we just said, ‘for more information and RSVP, please visit our website. Non-traditional, but it has worked perfectly. Personally, I’m bringing a few things as far as decorations go. Some stuff for the semi private dinner (some vases in our colors, scatter jewels), and maybe a few things for the ceremony. I’m not a big dancer, so not having dancing because of the semi private didn’t bother me (us). Katie- hey, if you go to the gym- have that dessert!! Haha Jen- my friends and I tried to do a biggest loser thing too! I was all about it, and slowly, they started dropping like flies. Then I dropped too also, I think you are on the right track by thinking the wedding WILL NOT be lacking with a lesser cost dress. I have paid on both ends of the spectrum to be in weddings- and when I said I didn’t mind paying 250, I really didn’t. But also, I understand the guilt. FI’s nieces are our “BM’s” and the dress I originally loved was about 150, but they are 3-8 years old. Their moms loved it and said it was NO problem. But I was SO glad when we found dresses for 40. less guilt! Chloe- OMG everything about your wedding was so beautiful! I remember seeing your inspiration board and BM dress choices a long time ago, and I was excited to see how it all turned out. I LOVE those colors together! You and new DH are super cute together. Dana- thanks for the tips- I am a creature of habit to a fault. I really need to shock my body more with both workout and food. And my downfall lately has been the wine…. D’oh!

Ooooh I want a magic pill too!!! Nicola- since about January of 2009 I've lost a total of 20.5 lbs. I did a couple of 'fad' type diets in between there for like a day or two, but really the only thing that works for me is keeping a food journal and making sure my cals don't go above what is right for the goal I have every day. I think that's kind of like the WW method? Also, hitting the gym as much as possible, but mostly watching what I eat. My iphone has a program that you can record food and excersise- I love it! Good luck- you can do it!

Argh I'm with you Sammysgirl!!!! I have about 7-9.....and my dress doesn't fit yet..... I'm going to start doing hot yoga this weekend. Any tips? I've been doing the good ol counting calories game!

Adrienne, your dress is stunning! You look fabulous in it. I was just looking at our wedding website and it said we have 120 days or something. I remember whent it was over 365!! I cannot say that the time goes fast- I have just tried to keep myself busy!

Haha, FI of course thinks I'm nutso that I can watch say yes to the dress over and over and over....and over and over! But I love this show!! It is just so interesting what people think make a great wedding. I personally would NEVER want anyone critiquing my day- but I'm glad brides out there don't mind so we can all watch!

I did mine for my save the dates- I got them from discountmugs.com- I used one of their templates, but you can upload your own. I don't remember if there was a limit though... they were great to work with and not too expensive.

maybe some bling strands to hang off of the sides so it looks like the diamonds are floating? I was thinking of getting some great beads and attaching them to a clear string about 6" apart then hanging them off of the chuppah. Or you can get the bling sticks to add to the flowers, if there will be flowers on the gazebo... What are your other bling ideas? I am doing the same thing, and so far all I have is what I said above, some pretty blingy beads attached to my fans, of course bling on me and my bouquet and diamond scatters for the dinner table..... I'd love to hear yours!

Argh! If I had only known this stupid resort changed prices like they do underwear, I may have rethought choices. I mean- I have read through the thread and knew there were inconsistencies-- but really? My last pricesheet for 2010 that I got awhile back, it said that the mariachis were 560, and now this pricesheet says 785? I know it's only 200 difference, but what if this happens all throughout? We're paying for this wedding ourselves, and need to budget accordingly.... Thanks for letting me rant. Geez.

Yay Lisa, Kimmy and Sammysgirl!!! I'm excited for you all---- it sounds like everything is really coming together. I'm a little sad and frustrated about the dinner thing. I thought you ordered off of the menu no matter what? Does this depend on group size? We're not having the private reception- it will be a semi private dinner....I have another question- if you don't mind!! We'll prob have about 45 people. Does this mean that we will have to pay the full amount for the bigger package or do you know if they prorate it pp? As a lot of others have said on this thread- it is SO frustrating how much nickeling and diming goes on when it's supposed to be an AI. FI is TOTALLY against having the full bar because of this- and I'm afraid it will be tacky if we don't. He insists that our friends will be cool about it- but I'm not so sure....Sorry for the vent!

Aw I'm sorry you feel like that Crystal. I feel the same way. Long story short- the salons Pronovias sizing chart is off (how and why, I have no idea) so the dress doesn't zip up all the way. 2 options, I could order a new one, and hope and pray it gets here in time (not an option in my book) or just get it let out. I'm going for a 3rd option- get to my goal weight- then see what happens! I too have not told FI my panic feelings after the $$ we spent on the dress! Best of luck- good advice above to put on full makeup and shoes next time you try it. I'll do the same!
