  1. Hello, I'm new to this forum, but not new to the board. My FI and I looking to have a DW, and from time to time the destination has changed or the past year. We are seriously considering the DR, and my best friend just came back from the Melia Caribe and spoke with the coordinator there. My best friend had really great reviews about the entire trip from the service to the cost. Is anyone on this board planning a wedding at this resort or has had a wedding there? I would just like to get some reviews from a brides perspective. Thanks
  2. I'm so glad that this came up too. I just want do something different. I will be wearing a garter, but would love to do something less traditional at our wedding
  3. Congrats! Hope that the planning has been going well.
  4. Welcome! Enjoy the message board.

That's what me and my fiance discussed tonight. Since it was the original idea for our wedding, we will be spend our honeymoon in New Orlean. We don't want to confuse people, so we will have information on the area, but more so on how got together and our interest in our theme.
  6. I'm glad I came across this. Hope it keeps me organized.
  7. We once were getting married in New Orleans. But due to our little ones arrival in April we are moving our wedding to the place we first meet, which is the Outer Banks. Right now it's between Manteo or Duck. I heard that Red Sky Cafe was really good, so we are looking at them for a possible cater.
  8. Depending on the gown: Selection 1: Selection 2: Really liken this one because it's very dramatic
  9. Since we are a non-traditional couple that is very into to all types of music, we will be walking down the aisle to a DJ. The cocktail hour will be closer to hour New Orleans theme, and we will be walking in the reception to a second-line band. But for the reception we decided to do a mix of old and new by playing the modern version of a song, and then the original sample. That way we can please all generations will be included and happy.
  10. We haven't picked the song yet. But we will most definitely be walking down the aisle with the assistance of a DJ. My fiance and I work in the entertainment industry, and my friend got married a few years back with doing the same thing. It will most definitely fit us and our guest.
  11. We are getting married in the Outer Banks, NC. Still working on the exact date.
  12. We were suppose to get married in New Orleans in October of next year. But we are expecting a little one in April, and have decided to move of wedding day to the Outer Banks, NC...since we live in NC already. We felt that the travel would be easier on our family as a whole. Even though we are getting married in a beach town, we are still sticking to the New Orleans theme. I wanted to know if I should stick with the theme of the wedding for the OOT bags and a few Outer Banks information....or just make an OOT bag themed toward the beach area? Thanks!

I'm thinking of Pashmina's as well. This site looks interesting.
