  1. OK so I just finished the photog snoop I promised. It was on the El Dorada Seaside Brides posts, not EDR, Anyhoo, here are the names of the guys members have reccommended: Tracy_S - got married Nov 9 09 : "the approved photographer Mexican Wedding Photos is a great company to use as well!!! We had a guy named Miguel or Mike.. who ROCKED!! I will totally recommend him to all brides using Karisma hotels!!! He was awesome.. and his 3 hour package is 1250... but so worth it!!! I also did a trash the dress with him and he rocked at that too.. that costs extra but he was such a nice and professional guy!!! Highly recommended on my end!!! " And another member, desouc, who is getting married Feb said that she heard Eduardo is really good too. I am sure you guys could PM them if you have questions. I am actually considering changing from Claudia now b/c it'll save me $2k probably and I could use that $$ to pay for the Cancun clubbing trip we are doing 2 nights before the wedding and then some.... Oh decisions decisions!!!

  3. Ohhh you look awesome in both but my pick goes for #2! The beading under the boobs in #1 makes it kinda look like a bra top connected to the gown at first glance.

  5. I love love love love your pop streamers! Good work - and love the part about painting the maracas the night before leaving. Sounds familiar! Congrats and thanks for posting
  6. Thanks for posting Nicole. I hope one of my friend's moms gives me some jewelry too. How perfect! And yes, after seeing the dress on you first and the model second, you win HANDS DOWN.

Honestly this was the #1 reason I booked the AZUL, I loved the idea and so does my FI. So, I am hoping it turns out to be a short lived issue with the donkey and he'll be there May 29th to celebrate my wedding

So even if I found someone I liked better than Caribe and Matias Cano I'd have to book them for three nights as a guest in order to have them at the wedding. That's ridiculous! totally agree

Also call your WC and her boss, and everyone else you can talk to. They might allow it. I got her on a error technicality for my May wedding - Tiff got approval from her boss. So, try try try!
  11. Oh Amy, post the bird cake topper! I still dont know what I am going to top my cake (oops our cake) with. So, today I changed my first dance song. I wanted to do "When you say Nothing at All" by Alison Krause but then someone kinda made fun of it and I started second guessing myself. So typical. Anyways, I decided it might be more fun to do "Is This Love" by Bob Marley. So of course I emailed FI and asked what he thought and he said: "Yeah thats good. Or I'm cool with No Woman No Cry too. Whatever." hahahahhah This is why I am marrying him! So funny!
  12. Damn I was a Finance major too and I still can't handle creating and updating a budget. You girls are good! Has anyone gotten the sample ceremonys from Tiffany yet? I want to start looking into this now. Is that too early?

Depends on your # of people but you can get married easily for under $5,000 if you take the package and do not add anything more. Also, if you dont have BM or GM, then less flowers.

Photographer recommendations and cost? Has the Ipod option worked well and if so do I need to rent speakers? Welcome dinner or reception costs/locations? So many questions! Hi & Welcome! The Banquet kit can be found on the Karisma website here: http://www.karismahotels.com/sites/d...KIT%202009.pdf If you want to do a private reception, I'd try to get a Free wedding package (if avail at AS) and pay for things as you go. I think it works out cheaper than getting the Gold package and things you might not want (massage lesson for 2 - I defo didn't want). I heard from someone else that DWs has flooded the Karisma ppl with bookings recently so response time has been SLOW. Do a search for wedding reviews and see what other brides have said on this site. I have looked around on all the other forums in Riviera Maya and it seems everyone gets nickled and dimed at all of the hotels - so like Katie said, you need to be prepared anywhere you go (unless you will just go with basic package for everything without upgrades). Good luck!!
  15. Hey Amy KH - I think that bride in the pix I just posted has the same cake as you want, right? It turned out beautiful!
  16. Congrats KJT! You must have been stressing to get that dress with your wedding 2 months away and the dress being made. It looks awesome. Can't wait to see the pix of you in it!
  17. Oh you bunch of saps! Just kidding! I would be so clueless without this site. The knot doesnt even compare for DWs. so found another AS wedding on Claudia Photos. Looks amazing!!! Carrie & Atom | October 3rd 2009 | Azul Sensatori, Riviera Maya Mexico
  18. Had to use a different printer machine and this scanner sucks compared to my usual one! I do 2 sets of arms and shoulders and one set of beginner abs right now. After Xmas I will move up to adding legs and then also to 3 sets. Its only about 20 mins now, so I think it'll be an extra 20 mins in the morning. I just had to get away from my gym in the morning. the people there in the mornings irritate me so I was using it as an excuse to not do anything. abs.pdf arms.pdf legs.pdf shoulders.pdf
  19. Erika - congrats! Your review was awesome. Thanks for taking the time to write so much. It sounds like you had a top notch wedding. I love the story about urgent care. I am so sure something like that would happen at my wedding too Congrats Mrs!!
  20. Congrats Maggie! Everything sounds wonderful. Must be nice that all your work paid off and to never hear a complaint - well that just speaks volumes!

Eventually I suppose we will have to face reality though
