  1. Ahh, so very exciting that we have some Bahia brides close to their days! I'm a teacher and September is such a crazy month that I have not been able to do much on here. It is great to read about everyones plans just before the big day. Congrats ladies!
  2. Thanks for the ideas girls! I've been slacking in the wedding planning department these days. I am a teacher and September is always a crazy time. I'll look into these when I get going again.

Hi Everyone, I won't be on here buch anymore, I've been getting ready to start back at work (I'm a teacher), so all my time seems to be on prep for that instead of the wedding! Does anyone know who the new photographer is? I'm curious to see their work. Thanks!
  4. Hrm, the only thing I can think of is an obvious one that I'm sure you were doing already. Does your printer have a glider in the paper area that you can slide over to keep the paper snug as it is fed through the printer? I have a top/back loading printer and I printed my addresses on small envelopes, inserting one at a time so nothing got snagged, keeping the paper guide snug to the envelope and it seemed to keep things straight. Sorry if this doesn't help! Oh, and if you end up going the multiple invite per page route, I did mine in Publisher, but I'm not sure if it is the same size as yours. I made my pockets folds myself so the dimensions might be different. If you want to take a look at it though, to see if you can adjust things then just pm me with your email and I can send you the file. My invites are on the forum here if you want to take a look, I don't know how to put in links but I think the title is Jules DIY Pocket Fold Invites. Good luck!
  5. Thank you so much everyone! I'm really happy the way they turned out too Sheeoni, that is ribbon going all the way around the outside, at first I was going to use paper, but then we tried the ribbon and it looked much more finished!
  6. I found them in the aisle where all the under $7 stuff is. Are you in the US though? B/c the CDN stores may be different? I'm not sure. There was a whole luau section with grass skirts, coconut bras etc, and then the lanterns. I know that they are all cleared out at the two stores in my city, as they are getting new stock in. Good luck on your search!
  7. Hi ladies! I tried searching for this but this thread has gotten so huge I don't have the patience! For those who have already been married, did you have to pay to bring in an outside photographer? I thought we didn't have to, but then I asked Karla and she wrote back saying yes, it was the $90 day pass. Just wanted to check that others got the same info. Thanks
  8. I bought some smaller ones at Michael's on sale for $1. They are bright blue and bright green, I'm pretty sure they had a pink too. They had bigger sizes as well, but they were a bit more $$. Just a suggestion.
  9. I ended up doing the STD's as soon as we confirmed things with our TA and the resort. That was back in April, so it gave ppl a good year of notice. We have a website, but ppl aren't checking back often enough to see the updates I think. I am in the process of sending out the formal invitation right now (21 more to go!), with all the extra info, including when and where our AHR is. Then I am having them RSVP to both the DW and AHR all at once. Hopefully it works. A girl I know who is also getting married at my resort, but in January did an idea I kind of liked and wished I had thought about. She sent out an invite/STD magnet combo. It was still informal b/c she didn't have a confirmed date for the wedding. But she then asked the guest to RSVP to let her know if they wanted further information/travel information and to provide their email. Then once she got the details she sent out an e-vite. Just another option
  10. Thanks for this thread, I am still searching for a photographer, there are some great resources here!

In the email I got from Paloma it says: Bride, groom must arrive 2 working days prior this day. So am I good? I told her we were arriving Sunday so she wouldn't book it if it wasn't right, right? I'd look into that maybe. We were told 4 working days. We arrive on Saturday and I wanted to get married on the Wednesday but they said we couldn't b/c of the 4 day thing. So that is why we are getting married on April Fool's Day.
  12. Turtlewax15, Thanks so much for all the information! You cleared up a few things I was wondering too. Be prepared to answer more questions as I'm sure more will come up! Thanks again

David's Bridal - Side-Drape Embroidered Dress BR1009 Very cute! I like it and think it is perfect for a beach/destination wedding!

I'm 3/4 done making the invites (ran out of paper) so they are getting out a little later than I planned. Hopefully by next week they will all be done and mailed! Then it is just a matter of how fast ppl are going to rsvp, hopefully quickly!
  16. Hi Winnipeg girls, I started a thread about possibly doing a group order on mugs if you are doing OOT bags. I didn't really put a good title on it so I'm not sure if anyone saw it. OOT Bags Travel Mugs Group Order? I don't know how to link things in here yet! Sorry
  17. I checked out a place called Expressions on Waverly and Scrufield. They said 3 weeks for an order, minimums were 150 for mug with handle/lid, 200 for mug with no lid, about 2.50 a mug. There is another option of paying a minimum fee, which allows you to get 60% of their min. numbers, so 90 and 120. Just letting anyone know.
  18. Wow, that is a gorgeous dress and it looks incredible on you! Great find

Do you plan on ordering OOT bags or anything else that we could combine? Hi there, No problem, just let me know! We've found an option at Dollarama, travel mugs w/handles and lids for $1.25 each. I'd have to figure out how to decorate them (which has been done on here) or decide if we just want to order from somewhere online. Our colors are turquoise/aqua, brown, and a lime/kiwi green. I've already bought my bags from Dollarama. They are brown with turquoise handles and a little button closure thing. They are like a burlap material but lined w/plastic inside. They were $2 each. If you do end up going the mug route, we could always just put Mexico 2010 with a palm tree graphic on them, to keep it generic. Just a thought. Good luck!
  20. Hi Ladies, So I will do my best to list all I used. I'm still not done all of mine as I'm waiting for Michaels to get more paper in. But we printed all the envelopes tonight, and stuff the invites we did have made. Almost done! 1. 8.5 x 11 Kiwi metallic cardstock from Michaels for the card itself (.99cents per page, unless it is on sale for 3/$1.00) 2. All the inserts, the front logo and the middle part of the invite was printed on White Cardstock paper Recollections brand from Michaels ($4.99 per pack, used 50% off coupon) 3. The blue background for the middle of the invite and the front square logo was from a pack of cardstock, The Paper Company "Meadow" Fashion colors Value Pack from Michaels (on sale $3.99) I think they are clearing out this brand as all the other value packs of paper are now the Recollections brand 4. The blue and brown ribbon trimming the pocket is Spool O' ribbon from Michaels (.59 cents, on sale for 3/$1.00) 5. The brown ribbon on the outside of the invitations is Celebrate It 1 1/2 inch ribbon from Michaels ($5.99, on sale for 1/2 price, or used 50% coupon) 6. I used Pioneer Photo Albums Photo Sticker Squares to adhere the middle of the invitation together and to the card itself, as well as on the front logo (Again Michaels, $3.99 I believe, of course used coupon or what I already had) 7. The pocket was made by cutting and scoring with a bone tool then adhering it down with Zips glue strips. We also used the glue strips to adhere the ribbon to the card itself. These things are amazing, I am so glad I found them! They are super adhesive, we were having trouble keeping ourselves from getting stuck to them! (Michaels, $9.99 I think, of course used %50 coupon) 8. The entire pocketfold will be held closed with a small glue dot (Zots at Michaels, $7.99, used %50 coupon) 9. Everything was printed on my printer at home and we cut them out with paper cutters. I think that was about it! If there are any other questions just let me know Thanks again for all the great feedback One thing I would suggest though, consider not having an RSVP card that needs to be mailed back, we realized that too late. It was pricy to buy all the stamps. If we went the email RSVP route it would have not only saved money on stamps but paper/ink/time as well. Oh well, I've realized a lot of things after the fact during the whole wedding planning process. I guess we all make mistakes, I've never done this before!!

  22. I agree, socials are a great way to get together with a bunch of friends and have a good time supporting someone while you are at it! Ours is November 21, 2009 at St. Norbert Community Centre.
