I'm beginning to think that I might have better luck taking everything off the resort and restarting the planning process..... I'm also getting married in April at Grand Palladium. I got a call last friday from the Wedding Coordinator who was extremely helpful. I called Her back Saturday Noon EST and she answered the phone when I called. I think it must be a good time to get her in the office She wanted to get all of my documentation (Birth Certificates/Passports), as well as go over menus, flowers and photography and music. Here is her contact info: Phylicia Haywood Wedding Assistant Phone: (876) 619-0000 (ext: 8251) It was the first time I'd spoken to anyone live from the resort so I was really happy! I hope this helps!
  2. Hi Sarah - Welcome to the board. If you can get the date you're looking for and put your mind to it, you can definitely do it in 3 months. Good luck!
  3. Tracy - your pictures are so pretty!!!! I could seriously look at wedding and e-pics all day. I love seeing all the happy couples! Hi Erica and welcome. Sorry you have had so many difficulties but hopefully you will have relatively smooth sailing from now on!
  4. The pictures are awesome - you look fantastic and SO HAPPY!!!! The photographer did a great job! Don't worry about the arm band - the other one is so vibrant and pretty I barely noticed the other one. And the ones on your feet look great too.
  5. These are pictures of 2 other BDW GPJ cakes. Zuezl Petals I'm just getting a standard cake like these - the choices were vanilla, chocolate, fruit or a combination of 2, so I did a combination of vanilla and chocolate. I'd like to have flowers on it and maybe an initial for a cake topper. Everyone has said the cakes are delicious!
  6. She called me and left a message yesterday and I called her back today. she answered the phone at the extension 876-619-0000- ext8251 I didn't even ask her about the price - I'm hoping for 25 people - right now I have 8 people + us confirmed - my RSVPs are due 12/31. The thing I have says $2000 for the Caribbean package + $50 for over 8 people. FI decided if we are having everyone come out to Jamaica for a wedding, we'd better have a real wedding out there...I don't think it will be much more $$$ either. She also asked me about the photographer. I just told her to send me the info - I'm having SunGold take my pictures - they told me they've never had any problems getting on the resort but I didn't think I needed to mention it to her ; )
  7. So excited today - I just talked to the wedding coordinator at my resort! Picked a cake and will be picking menus and flowers! Starting to seem very real!
  8. Hi Everyone - just wanted to let you know I heard from Felicia in the wedding office today. She wanted to confirm my wedding details and talk to me about menus and flower details. She sounded very on the ball - I'm so excited! We also decided to get married in Jamaica rather than here first and will be doing the Carribean Package.
  9. I'm glad we weren't the only ones who weren't in love with this season. I knew Russell would win, but I just didn't feel the competition like last year. I hope next season is better. what ever happened to Paula Abdul being a special guest judge? Nigel was making a big deal about the empty chair the first few weeks then nothing?
  10. It's just awful that someone would put that - joke or not. I agree with Carly that you should go to the site admin and get the IP address and also with KittenHeart - tell your FI - if it was the other way around and he was upset about something, I'm sure you'd want to know, right? People are so immature and insensitive sometimes...I'm sorry you had to deal with this today.
  11. Once I chose my island/resort - I used google and then this website to narrow it down. I knew what my budget was, but photography has a lot to do with taste. I looked at a million wedding pictures from a lot of photographers to see whose style I liked best. They do get booked up fast so I definitely recommend starting early.
  12. It's ok. If you thought it was right, you wouldn't have been so hesitant right? It's a LOT of work and a LOT of STRESS for not a lot of money. Who needs that? You told them how you felt, which was the right thing to do. Most people wouldn't have even done that. You said you're trying to finish your degree, so this job is not the end all be all of your existence, and you won't be there forever. So get through the next 3 weeks of doing 2 jobs, go back to doing your job, finish your degree and hopefully move on to bigger and better things SOON! For what it's worth, I wouldn't have taken it either!
  13. Great shots - love the fall colors and the black and white pics.
  14. Ok here are mine: He says "I seen it" rather than "I've seen" or "I saw"...He's gotten much better because I correct him every time...it hurts my ears...I don't know where he got it from as his mother doesn't say that. He never replaces the toilet paper, even though the extras are in a cannister RIGHT NEXT TO THE TOILET! NYCBRIDETOBE - FI used to hoard and save and not throw out but he has gotten much better. We went through his closet and threw out/donated everything he hasn't worn in a year or he couldn't remember wearing. He also thought anything and everything old was valuable. He's getting over that and realizing that living with less clutter is nicer. I've also learned that he doesn't realize a lot of the stuff he has and I've thrown out things without him knowing, like super ugly pants that were under tons of stuff in the closet. It's been a year and he hasn't missed them.

Almost all of my single friends know each other and told me right off that they were planning on rooming together. FI and I only wanted people that knew us at our wedding - no strangers unless they were part of a couple (my friend in Portland OR has been dating her boyfriend for a year - he's invited although we never met as they are across the country). Now his single friend has told him she is bringing her aunt. He knows her aunt pretty well and I have met her once. I'm so tired of being stressed out about little things...at least FI knows her...has been to her house...she seemed really happy for us when i met her...so I'm going to chalk this up to "things i cannot control"...and move on.
  16. Ladies - this site ships to UK and Canada! It was posted somewhere else in the forum. Help zone*::*Good Things Wedding Favors They have mint tins you can personalize as well as fans.
  17. I was wrong - it says beach restaurant - not beach reception. The 2008 and 2010 price for the Silver Love packages are the same - the only difference I can see is that the 2008 said Aisle Runner and Aisle Markers, and the 2010 only says Aisle runners. The 2008 package that I recieved didn't have the Extra Items Price List in it, so I'm happy to have that.
  18. My concern is your stress level. How long do you think you can survive under the pressure of doing 2-4 jobs at one time, and under 2 micromanagers? That's alot to take for $40/week. And what happens if you decide not to take this new position? Will you be looked down upon for not taking it? And you're doing all of this while finishing your degree? Wow! But, to go with what Lo was saying, if you stand up for yourself and got an Analyst 2 position, would that give you a bigger raise and therefore make the position more worth it? If you can keep the stress level down while you're working on your degree, I think that might be a good idea. Good luck!

I am only filling the bags with small/light things. I'm not planning to do table favors either. I think I might do fans for the ceremony and then the OOT bags and that will be enough.

I sent an email a few weeks ago confirming my date when I heard about all the changes with the wedding coordinators and got an email back from Lori saying yes I was confirmed, but she didn't mention anything about me having to change the pricing. My stuff is at home and I'm at work but I don't think there's that much of a difference in the prices from last year - I think I booked the Silver Package though. I'll check when I get home. I'm thinking I'll have about 20-25 people. My responses aren't all in yet. What I did notice on the 2010 package is that it says "beach reception" so I'm wondering what that would look like as opposed to having the reception in the restaurants. I love the pictures from Blue Lagoon where everyone seems to have done it - has anyone had or seen a beach reception?
  21. Congratulations and Welcome from another Grand Palladium Bride!
